KAPTEIN, Tim - Peacefully at Queenston Place on June 21, 2009 at the age of 88. Predeceased by his wife Anne. Proud father of Sylvia Kaptein and her husband Will Gibbons and Michael Kaptein and his wife Joanne. Adoring grandfather of Laura, Heather and Katie. He will be sadly missed by friends Mary and Kay. Tim was former Auditor General of P.E.I. and a resistance fighter in the Netherlands during World War II. Family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street from 12:00 to 1:00 on Wednesday June 24th. A memorial service will follow at 1:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Ann Louise (nee Stremlaw) Kraan
KRAAN, Ann Louise (nee Stremlaw) - Of Niagara-on-the-Lake. After a courageous battle with cancer, Ann passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday, June 20, 2009, in the company of her family, in her 70th year. Ann and her loving husband, Johannes (John) were blessed to celebrate 40 memorable years of marriage. She was a wonderful mother to Joanne Clarke (David) of Cambridge, Catrina Braid (Andrew) of Waterloo, Simona Davis (Robert) of St. Catharines and John Kraan of Mississauga. She was a proud Gammy to Sarah-Ann (Joshua), Michael, Nicholas, Jordan, Peter, Jessica, Kyle, Elisa, Rhiannon and Ferguson; and great- grandma to Emmary and Tyler. She is survived by her mother Dorine Stremlaw; her siblings Fred Stremlaw (Sharon), Carol Tubbe (Donald), Gloria Roach (Jon), Janet Kerr (Norrie), David Hutt and their families. Ann is predeceased by her father Albert Stremlaw and sister Ellen Hutt. Ann enriched the lives of many children as an elementary school teacher and a Sunday school teacher at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, where she was an active parishioner for 40 years. She was a treasured member of the Red Hats Society (Niagara Chapter) and the Cellar Society (Hamilton Chapter). Ann was also a dedicated volunteer for Charcot-Marie-Tooth International and a thirty-year canvasser with the Canadian Cancer Society. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her and whose lives she touched. Family and friends will be received at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Ann's life will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 3428 Portage Road, Niagara Falls. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church.

LAWRIE, Marian Ruth - Suddenly at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009, at the age of 87 years, the former Marian Smith of Port Elgin. Wife of the late Sandy Lawrie. Mother of Tom and his wife Brenda of Bruce Township, Lois and her husband David Buck of California, and Mary Ann and her husband David Hipgrave of Mississauga. She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families. Friends may call at the W. MOORE, Ralph Orwell - Age 80, died at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009. Ralph is survived by his loving wife June of 57 years. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Vincent and Eileen (Kelly) Ryan. Dear mother of Todd and Jennifer Young, Scott and Cathy Young. Proud grandmother to Michael, Mackenzie, Allison, Erin and Ryan. Dear sister to William and Ruth Ann Ryan, Judy and Bernie Myers, Ann and Gary Wright, and Margaret O'Phee, all of Chatham. Kathryn will be remembered for the many volunteer hours dedicated to C.H.A.P.S., the Canadian Cancer Society and St. Andrews Residence.
