Georgina Mitchell

At home with her children on Saturday, September 29, 2012, Georgina Marie Mitchell (nee-Nicol) of Bainsville, Ontario: age 82 years. Georgina was born on May 2, 1930 in Montreal, the daughter of George (Edinburgh, Scotland) and Noella (Chartierville, Quebec). Glengarry became her home when she married her beloved husband, the late William Duncan. Loving mother to Michael (Amanda), Robb (predeceased), Laurie Anne (Joseph), Heather Jean (Randall) and Colin (Kristine). Dear grandmother to Antonia, David (Nancy), Donald, Duncan and Ian and great grandmother to Noah and Benjamin. Georgina lived a rich and full life as a wife, mother, teacher, and friend, was active in her church and community, and dearly loved her gardens. A Celebration of Georgina’s Life will be held on Friday, October 5th at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, South Lancaster at 1:00 pm. The Munro & Morris Funeral Homes, 46 Oak Street, Lancaster, Ontario (613-347-3629) are helping the family with the arrangements. Donations in Georgina’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Stella Legros

At the Sarsfield Colonial Nursing Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Stella Legros (née Desforges), formerly of Curry Hill and Alexandria; age 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Paul Legros. Loving mother of Paulette (Richard) of Cornwall, Gerald (Evelyn), Jean-Luc (Gabrielle), and Linda (Daun) all of Orleans, and Chantal (Bruce) and Guylain (Sylvie) both of Vars. Dear sister of Georgette (late Léonide Samson) of Cornwall. Predeceased by three sisters Lucille (late René Avon), Hortense (late Paul Lussier), and Gabrielle (late Brunôt Leroux), and by one brother Gérard (Thérèse Leroux of Coteau-du-Lac). Dear daughter of the late Georges Desforges and the late Adrienna Cadieux. Also survived by 10 grandchildren Karine and Malika Rozon, Lisanne, Julien and Camile Legros, Philippe, Geneviève and François Legros and Nicholas and Alexandre Legros, and by 2 great-grandchildren Chloé Desroches and Xavi Layton. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur, Alexandria on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Sainte-Claire D’Assise Parish Cemetery, Rivière Beaudette, Quebec. Jasmine Morris

On Sunday, September 23, 2012. Jasmine Elizabeth Ozga Morris of Alexandria, passed away suddenly at the age of 26. Jasmine is survived by her beloved children Scott and Kylie, her father Paul, her mother Sandra, her sister Tasha, her grandfather Derek, her aunts and uncles Karen, Doug, Graham and Esther, and her birth father David. Her constant smile and loving soul will shine on in all who loved her. Campbell MacLeod

Surrounded by his family at his home, on Thursday, September 20, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer, Campbell MacLeod of Maxville; age 71 years. Beloved husband and best friend for 47 years to Lois MacLeod (nee Colbran). Loving father of William G. MacLeod (Emily), Robert N. MacLeod and Heather A. MacLeod (Massi Tarakhel). Dear brother of Melba Shaver (late Donald), late Alma Metcalfe (Ian), Shirley Ferguson (Donald), Ian D. MacLeod (Helen), and the late William D. MacLeod. Dear son of the late William G. MacLeod and the late Grace Campbell. Proud grandfather of Gavin Campbell MacLeod and Layla Grace Tarakhel. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Barbara Howard

Barbara Howard (Nee Davies) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital in Alexandria, Ontario, on Sunday September 16, 2012. Barbara was born October 19, 1923 and grew up in Swansea, Wales, the daughter of the late Eva Morgan and the late Harry Stanton Davies. She had one younger brother Leon, deceased. Wife of Capt. Peter George Guest Howard, deceased and grand-mother to Emily Howard, deceased. She is survived by her son Peterjon Howard and daughter Catherine Howard-Lightstone, grandchildren Joanna Howard, Alice Howard, Rosalind Howard, Miranda Lightstone-Styker, and great-grandson Owen Styker. Barbara was a successful Art teacher for many years, both in England and Canada. She lived a rich and happy life and will be missed by friends and family. Many thanks to Diane, Nicole and the staff at the Palace Retirement Home. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro and Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). There will be no visitation and a private memorial service will be held at a later date as per Barbara’s wishes. Bruce McDonald

passed away at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 after a short illness. Bruce McDonald of Alexandria; age 58 years. Loving brother of Rod McDonald (Louise), Judith Blackadder (Don), Diane and Linda McDonald. Cherished uncle of Andrée (Louis), Shoana (Colin), Adam (Sarah), Rory (Vanessa) and great-uncle of Alexander, Justin, Charles, Brynn, Hadley and Isla. Dear son of the late Hugh McDonald and the late Marion McCulloch. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, (525-2772). Relatives and friends are requested to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by cremation and burial of cremated remains in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Frank Villeneuve

At Hospice Cornwall on Monday, September 10, 2012. Frank Gerard Villeneuve of Cornwall; age 81 years. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War, 2nd P.P.C.L.I. Member, Br. 297, Cornwall. Beloved husband of the late Theresa Villeneuve (nee Besner) of Maxville. Dear father of Conrad (Linda) of Cornwall, Cynthia of London, Ontario and Ben (Laurie) of Calgary, Alberta. Dear brother of Patricia Waddell (Hilton) and Gwen Stilnovilch (Walter). Dear son of the late Benjamin Villeneuve and the late Madeline Houlahan of Maxville. Also survived by a dear friend, Alice Lamorie. At Frank’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Thursday September 6, 2012, after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late Vernon Campbell of Maxville. Dearest and much loved mother of Marilyn MacLeod (Jack) of Barrhaven and Sherilyn Campbell of Maxville. Proud and loving grand-mother to Matthew, Michael and Carolyn MacLeod. Predeceased by her parents Mary Begg and Gilbert Morrison. Also predeceased by her brother Lawrence, sisters Lois Rowe, Wilda Hamilton and brother Bryce.
