passed away peacefully at Lancaster Gardens surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday October 18, 2012. Beloved wife of Ross Woods Turner, loving and proud mother of Lori-Ann Woods-Turner of Lancaster, Ontario and Glenn Charles Woods-Turner (Dianne) of Baie D’urfé, Québec. Joan is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren Kelly-Anne (Sam), Amanda-Lee (Matthew), Ryan Ross, John Taylor and her beautiful great granddaughter Sierra-Grace.
A memorial service will be held at Munro & Morris, in Lancaster on November 1, 2012 at 10:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am. A small luncheon will be held at 12:00pm at the Munro & Morris Reception Hall, 45 Oak Street, Lancaster, Ontario (613) 347-3629

Lillian Batchelor
Lillian was born in Quebec City on Feb 27, 1924. She lived there with her brothers James Pelletier, Roy Pelletier and her parents, Paul and Marie Jeanne Pelletier. After early school years, she worked with her mother in a sewing factory where she sewed and coordinated the production of clothing. Her best friend Elaine, was one of the most important friends in her life and was responsible for introducing Lil to her future life partner and husband Ronald Batchelor. After marrying Ronald, she devoted her life to raising her 4 children: Diane (1950), Walter (1953), Paul (1950) and Glenn (1960). Her early life as a mother and wife can be characterized as loving, giving and a dedicated domestic goddess. Later life involved self –discovery, achievement, camaraderie and joie de vivre.
Lillian succumbed to a devastating bone marrow disorder that left her so fatigued that she decided to take leave of her body and join her dear Ron, son Walter, father, mother, brother and friends in heaven. She died on October 23rd, 2012 at Providence Manor LTC with Diane, her daughter, her daughter-in-law Sue, Ron, (Diane’s partner) and Julie (Ron’s daughter). She was surrounded by love literally and figuratively as she slowly and deliberately left this world.
Lil was loved by all who knew her and was admired and welcomed by her peers in Montreal, Maxville and Kingston. She was the poster person for Providence Care in Kingston.
She was a caring sister to James and Roy
She was a loving mother-in-law to Sue and Ron
She was a grandmother to Michael, Gina, Trevor, Erin and Caren; Kevin and Julie (step grandmother)
She was a great grandmother to Kenley and Abigail (step great grandmother)
She was a Godmother and Aunty Loonie to Nancy MacDonald, Gary Pelletier and Michael Batchelor
Lillian will be remembered dearly by her entire family and everyone who had the opportunity to be touched by her presence.
