Marie, Pedrito Mejorada (Nelly) of Chicago, nephew of Perlina Magno of California, and also survived by nieces Emilie (Jim) of Toronto and Grace of Ottawa as well as a cousin Alyer Aguirre (Elena) of Ottawa as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law in the Philippines. LOYER, Diane (née Mantha) - The family announces with deepest sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Friday, April 24, 2009 at the age of 39 years. Dear daughter of Gérald and Suzanne (née Poitras) Mantha of Sudbury. Beloved wife of Marc Loyer of Sudbury. Loving mother of Natasha Loyer and Stéphan Loyer both of Sudbury. Dear sister of Luc Mantha of Sudbury. Sadly missed by her mother-in-law Yvonne Loyer, sisters-in- law, brothers-in-law, grandparents and grandmother Aline Mantha of Tecumseh. Predeceased by her father-in-law, Gérald Loyer, grandparents Roméo and Arlina Poitras and Henri Mantha. Lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews as well as many friends. The focus of Diane's life was her loving family and friends who will miss her dearly. Her good character and the kindness of her heart won the affection of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile. Rolland Romeo (Rolly) Lemay
LEMAY, Rolland Romeo (Rolly) - passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site on Wednesday April 8th, 2009 in his 74th year. Rolly was the beloved husband of Noella and father of Pauline Lemay, Rachelle Acourt (Steven), Lucille Giroux (Rémy), Suzanne Lemay, Lillianne Lemay, John Lemay (Morty), Linda Guillemette, Yvon Lemay (Tina) and Roxanne Lemay. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rolly was the dear brother of Gabrielle Ladouceur, Estelle Lepine, Béatrice Dubeau (Royal) and Gilbert Lemay. He was predeceased by his parents Omer & Yvonne (nee Gauthier), his brothers Eugene, Vianney, Gérard, Majella, and Réjean, his sisters Thérèse and Christine as well as his granddaughter Carly. A memorial service will be held at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd on Saturday April 18 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NBGH Foundation Dialysis Fund will be greatly appreciated. Krystyna Ann Smolen
SMOLEN, Krystyna Ann - passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2009 at the age of 56. Predeceased by her Father Jan and her mother Anna. Krystyna leaves behind her only sister Janina (Deveau), brother-in-law Dennis, and their two sons Daniel and David. Krystyna will also be missed by dear friends in Coquitlam, Parksville and Northern Ontario. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 14th at All Saints Catholic Church in Coquitlam, BC.
Victor Joseph Alexander Lagassie
LAGASSIE, Victor Joseph Alexander - Vic Lagassie died peacefully, the result of an unknown illness, on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at North Bay General Hospital. He was in his 83rd year. Vic will be sadly missed and always loved dearly by his wife of almost 60 years, Yvonne (Brault) of Powassan; his children Lorraine St. Pierre (Roland) of Astorville and Donald Lagassie (Lorraine) of North Bay. Pépère enjoyed and loved each of his six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren. Vic was the dear brother of Harry Lagassie (late Dorothy Dashnay) of Callander, Rita Kunkel (late Norman) of Powassan, Jeanne Jardine (late Ken) of Powassan, Jim Lagassie (Joan Ricker) of Kitchener and Lucy Rich (Gerald) of Powassan. He was predeceased by his parents RoseAnna (Desrosiers) and Antoine Lagassie and by his brothers Homer (Shirley Kathnelson of Kitchener), Alex (Claire Boissonneault of Bonfield), Louis (Ruthann Purdon of Guelph) and Archie (Merle Smith of Callander). Vic was retired from Giesler Boat Works in Powassan where he enjoyed a 52 year career as a boat builder. The Lagassie family wish to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses on 4W of North Bay General Hospital Scollard Site, for their wonderful kindness and care. JAMIESON, Arlean (nee Hartwick) - Unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the age of 64. Cherished wife of Bill. Loving mother of Julie Lloyd and Sean Miller and Kevin and Sue Lloyd. Caring grandmother of ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by her brothers and sister Ronnie Hartwick (Valerie), Caroline Stevenson and Manly Wilkes (Michelle). Predeceased by her brother Harold Hartwick. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and also by her dear little friend Babes. A special thank you to the nursing staff at St. Olga's Nursing Home and Townsview Lifecare Centre and also to the special people of Village Drive in Kingston. Gérard was the beloved husband of the late Ethel Tomlinson and loved father of Stéphan (Anne), Véronique St-Onge (Maurice), Sylvain (Shary), Stephanie Pelley and Jennifer Pelley (Wolfgang). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Steven, Roy, Richard, France, Sébastien, Philip, Amy, Alexandre, Anja and Natalie. Gerard was the dear brother of Cécile Amyotte, Azilda Amyotte, Jeanne D'Arc Gleason, Noëlla Morin, Claudette Guenette, René Tremblay and Diane Dugas. Predeceased by his parents, Gilberte Legault and Omer Tremblay and three brothers, Ted, Leonard and Edmond Tremblay. DUPUIS, Reginald - 1927 - 2009. passed away peacefully at the Algonquin Nursing Home, on Sunday, April 5th, 2009. Reginald was the beloved husband of the late Christine Blake for 60 years, he was in his 82nd year. Loving father of Gerry and his wife Pauline, Ron and his wife Diane both of Mattawa, and he was predeceased by his children Rhéaume & Larry. Pépère will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Eric (Jennifer), Luc (Dianne), Natalie, Jenna (Sandy), Jillian and 4 great grandchildren Marie-Pascale, Tienne, Cole and Rylan. Dearly loved brother of Bernice, Geraldine, Lilliane and Suzanne. He was predeceased by his parents Rosalie Lapensée and Ernest Dupuis and by his siblings Lionel, Emile, Roger, Conrad, Victor, Edna and Rollande. Reg started to work with his father at the age of 14 in the bush. Together with his father and brothers they started Ernest Dupuis Logging and in 1964 he and Lionel started Dupuis Brothers Logging, retiring in 1984. He was a Past Grand Knight with the Mattawa Council 6214 and was an active member of the 4th Degree. Family was important to Reginald and he spent many hours enjoying his grandchildren. Visitation was held at the MARTYN-SLOAN “MATTAWA CHAPEL“ on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father McElligott at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 8th at 3:00 PM. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium with interment of ashes in the family plot at St. Anne's Cemetery, to follow.
