(May 15, 1924- February 27, 2009) At the Stratford General Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2009, peacefully in the company of his family, Rocco Cupido in his 85th year. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years Emma (D'Angelo), his children Rosa, Lina and son-in-law Larry Murray, and Patrick. Cherished nonno of Adrian, Marissa and Lydia. Also survived by his sister Concetta Galliani, his sister-in-law Maria Giancristofaro (Ortona, Italy), and several nieces, nephews and cousins in both Canada and Italy. Predeceased by his parents Pasquale Cupido and Rosa DiNardis, his sisters Anna and Nicoletta, and by his brothers-in-law Vito DiDomenicantonio, Domenico Galliani and Mario Giancristofaro. Rocco immigrated to Canada in 1949 and resided for several years with his beloved aunt and uncle, Gilda and Antonio Cupido. In 1954 he returned briefly to Italy to marry Emma in San Vito before settling permanently in Hamilton, Ontario where he worked and raised his family. In 2004 he moved to Stratford, Ontario to be closer to his grandchildren.
