Inez Mori (née Galassi)
September 26, 1916 - April 18, 2005
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ines is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Americo Mori and her dear son John (Valerie). Ines will be greatly missed by her devoted daughter Leanna (Tony) Momente and her five grandchildren Marla Ashmore (Peter), John Mori Jr., (Cathy), Andrea Mori-Mickus (Peter), Carla Momente (Jeff) and Maria Momente (Victor). Ines will also be missed by her nine great-grand-children Brandon, Jessica, Julia, Robert, Olivia, Sophia, John IV, Isabella and Ava. Ines, who is predeceased by her brother Aldo, will also be terribly missed by her sisters and brothers-in-law Millie, Leona (Edward), Nina, Nives, Blackie (Charlie), Dolores (Bob) and her brother Nevio. Ines was much loved by her husband's brothers Anthony (Helen), and the deceased Peter (Nives) and Evo (Jenny). Her countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will always remember Ines for her exceptional kindness and generosity. Ines and Americo were the proprietors for 30 years of Mori's Smoke Shop, located in the heart of the steel mills in Hamilton's north end. Although Americo, affectionately known as "Mori", was the personality behind the smoke shop, it was Ines who owned and operated the business with unwavering acumen. Ines loved to travel, with Las Vegas being her favourite destination. Ines would travel to Las Vegas every year (sometimes twice a year) with an evolving group of fellow travelers which at times included her sisters, daughter and grandchildren. Even back home in Canada, Ines would trek to various casinos to play her beloved slot machines. With her signature string of pearls and her elegant demeanor, Ines was the epitome of a lady. Her absence will leave a hole in our hearts for years to come. The family would like to thank the kind and loving staff at the New Village Retirement Home and later at the Pine Villa Nursing Home where she lived out her last days. The tenderness and care you showed Ines and the rest of our family will never be forgotten. Ines will be resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Tuesday 4-9 p.m. A Memorial will be held at Friscolanti's on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Society will be greatly appreciated.
