Peacefully, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Giovanni, in his 79th year. Loving husband of Antonietta for 49 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Carmela and John Bozur, Calogero and Teresa DiFalco. Loving Nonno of Amanda and her husband Marc, Daniella, Adrianna and great-grand-daughter Vanessa. Dear brother of Joseph and Pietrina. Giovanni will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Henderson Hospital and a special thanks to Dr. J. Grant Taylor. Giuseppe Butera

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Giuseppe Butera while on vacation in Acapulco with his wife of 54 years, Calogera. He will be greatly missed by his children Carmela and Fortunato Papalia, Charles and Lisa Butera, Rose and Tony Rosati. Loving Nonno to his grandchildren Claudia, Nicholas, Carissa and Brianna. Predeceased by his parents Calogero and Carmela Butera, in-laws Giuseppe and Rosa Farruggia, sister Vincenza Baio and brother Gaetano Butera. Survived by brothers Salvatore and Melina Butera, Gerlando and the late Lina Butera, sister Anna and Filippo Principato, brother Lorenzo and Maria Butera, and niece Carmela and Vincenzo Salvo. A warmhearted Zio to nieces and nephews in Italy and in Canada.
Giuseppe was born in Montaperto, Italy on August 18, 1927. He married Calogera on October 29, 1950. In 1954, he brought his wife and oldest daughter to Canada, settling in Hamilton. Giuseppe worked at Stelco until his retirement in 1989. He was the proud owner of his own business, "Joe's Garage Doors" since 1985. He lived a life full of accomplishments. He spent the last days of his life in the place he truly cherished - Acapulco.

Bill was a loving and proud father of Ovidio and Rosemary and adoring nonno of Stuart and Alexander. Dear son of the late Adamo and the late Anna and son-in-law of Clara and the late Gerard Hilhorst. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law to Ettore and Domenica, Goffredo and Angela, Ennio and Sharon, Tina and Louis Travale, Gerry and Sue Hilhorst, Marlene Kaldenbach, and Ted Mietkiewicz. Predeceased by Johanna Mietkiewicz and Pieter Kaldenbach. Bill was the loved and respected uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S.A. and Italy. Retired employee with 37 years of service of Stanley Steel C.M.P., member of the Sons of Italy and the Toronto Introdacqua Mini Band. Proud of his heritage never forgetting his beloved Italy. Bill had a lifelong love and passion for music which he was proud to pass on to his son. He leaves a wonderful legacy through his beloved Italo Canadian Band which came second only to his family, Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Carmelo Scime for his many years of caring, the emergency medical services, and the doctors and nurses of the C.
