Giovanni DiFalco
November 05, 1926 - January 13, 2005

Peacefully, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Giovanni, in his 79th year. Loving husband of Antonietta for 49 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Carmela and John Bozur, Calogero and Teresa DiFalco. Loving Nonno of Amanda and her husband Marc, Daniella, Adrianna and great-grand-daughter Vanessa. Dear brother of Joseph and Pietrina. Giovanni will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Henderson Hospital and a special thanks to Dr. J. Grant Taylor. Visitation at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James), on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, 440 King St. E., on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery. "A beautiful life that came to an end, He died as he lived, everyone's friend. In our hearts a memory will always be kept, Of one we loved and will never forget."

Giuseppe Butera
August 17, 1927 - February 06, 2005

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Giuseppe Butera while on vacation in Acapulco with his wife of 54 years, Calogera. He will be greatly missed by his children Carmela and Fortunato Papalia, Charles and Lisa Butera, Rose and Tony Rosati. Loving Nonno to his grandchildren Claudia, Nicholas, Carissa and Brianna. Predeceased by his parents Calogero and Carmela Butera, in-laws Giuseppe and Rosa Farruggia, sister Vincenza Baio and brother Gaetano Butera. Survived by brothers Salvatore and Melina Butera, Gerlando and the late Lina Butera, sister Anna and Filippo Principato, brother Lorenzo and Maria Butera, and niece Carmela and Vincenzo Salvo. A warmhearted Zio to nieces and nephews in Italy and in Canada.
Giuseppe was born in Montaperto, Italy on August 18, 1927. He married Calogera on October 29, 1950. In 1954, he brought his wife and oldest daughter to Canada, settling in Hamilton. Giuseppe worked at Stelco until his retirement in 1989. He was the proud owner of his own business, "Joe's Garage Doors" since 1985. He lived a life full of accomplishments. He spent the last days of his life in the place he truly cherished - Acapulco.
Family and friends may pay their last respects at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Friday 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. and entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Society.

Victor Celeste
November 21, 1919 - February 08, 2005

Peacefully at Arbour Creek Longterm Centre on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Vincenzina. Dear father of Carmen and his wife Linda, Mario and his wife Rosanna. Adoring Nonno of Jennifer, Lisa, Amanda, Victoria; Michael and Christina. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Dora and the late Tony Olivieri, Adele and the late Dino Bucci. Victor will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Victor was a retired employee of Dofasco with over 43 years of service. February 22, 1929 - February 10, 2005

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday February 10, 2005 in his 76th year. Beloved husband Maria (nee Mazzuca). Predeased by son Natale. Dear Father and Father-in-law of Nino (Carmine) and Nella, Renato and Rosanna, Claudio, Franca and Michael Smart. Adoring Nonno of Daniella, Frank, Melissa, Sonia and Krista. Dear Brother and brother in law of Giovanna and late Ernesto Gallo, Giuseppe and Maria Gallo, late Anna and Francesco Greco, Serafina and late Carmine Gallo, Angela and late Giovanni Grimoli, Maria and late Eugenio Gallo, Pileria and John Fortino, Rosa and Antonio Scornaienchi, Maria and late Francesco Mazzuca, Rosina and late Eugenio Mazzuca, Ida and late Ignazio Filice, Raffele and Chiara, Mazzuca, Antonio and Giuseppina Mazzuca, Santo and Ida Mazzuca, Elvira and late Giovanni Mazzuca. Francesco will be dearly missed by nieces and nephews in Hamilton and Italy. Special thank you to the VON nurses and Comcare staff for there care and support. Suddenly at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday January 27, 2005 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe. Dearest Mother and Mother in law of Tony and Eva, Fred and Viv, Santo and Betty, Guy and Judy, Mary and Mike Mundo, Mike and Rita. Predeceased by her grandson Frank Mundo and daughter in law Linda Uggenti. Loving Nonna of 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear sister and sister in law of the late Angela and Lorenzo Mattia, the late Raffale and Mela Perrone, the late Filice Perrone, the late Michele Perrone, Antonietta and Zucchino DeLorenzo all of Italy. Beloved wife of the late Alfonso Mastroianni, Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Carmine and Ida Mastroianni, Filippina and Mario Calabrese. Anna and Giuseppe DeSimone, Maria and Silvio Veltri, Louisa and Pasquale Mastroianni, Settimia and Steve Corcione. Loving daughter of the late Francesco and Margarita Lamanna. Cherished grandmother of Teresa and Gino Conciatori. Alfonso Mastroianni, Mary and Gaetano Spadafora, Carmine and Bruna Calabrese, Frank and Josie Calabrese, John and Angela DeSimone, Isabel and Enzo Filice, Frank DeSimone and Fiona, Teresa and Anthony Pellegrino, Ercole and Adelaide Veltri, Laura and Dino Vespa, Rosetta Veltri, Gida and Luciano Carbone. Silvana and Bill Pope, Mirella and Nick Alfano, Frank and Monya Corcione, Angela and Danny Beltrano. She will also be missed by 30 great-grandchildren. Suddenly on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in his 75th year. Beloved husband, best friend and soulmate of Carla for 45 years. Bill was a loving and proud father of Ovidio and Rosemary and adoring nonno of Stuart and Alexander. Dear son of the late Adamo and the late Anna and son-in-law of Clara and the late Gerard Hilhorst. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law to Ettore and Domenica, Goffredo and Angela, Ennio and Sharon, Tina and Louis Travale, Gerry and Sue Hilhorst, Marlene Kaldenbach, and Ted Mietkiewicz. Predeceased by Johanna Mietkiewicz and Pieter Kaldenbach. Bill was the loved and respected uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S.A. and Italy. Retired employee with 37 years of service of Stanley Steel C.M.P., member of the Sons of Italy and the Toronto Introdacqua Mini Band. Proud of his heritage never forgetting his beloved Italy. Bill had a lifelong love and passion for music which he was proud to pass on to his son. He leaves a wonderful legacy through his beloved Italo Canadian Band which came second only to his family, Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Carmelo Scime for his many years of caring, the emergency medical services, and the doctors and nurses of the C. C. U, at the Hamilton General Hospital. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
