MYERS, Mabel Dorothy (MacKay)
Monday, May 26, 2003

Mabel Dorothy Myers (MacKay) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 25, 2003. Predeceased by Willard, her husband of 61 years. Much loved Mother of Susan and David of Sault Ste. Marie, John (Sharon) of Toronto. Proud Nana to Derek (Kaye) and Mark of Toronto. Mabel was born in Moosomin, Sask. on July 25, 1918 and was the youngest in the MacKay family. She was predeceased by her parents William and Marie and brothers Allen and Francis and stepsisters Kaye and Marjorie. She is survived by sisters-in-law Bernice MacKay, Lillian Misener, Elizabeth Tario, Pauline Boychuk and Dorinda Young and by brothers-in-law Jack Myers (Alma), Eric Myers (Faye), Frank Myers (Glenda) and Jim Myers (Barb). Mabel will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, May 28 from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Mrs. Janet Norman officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or the Cancer Care Unit at SAH would be appreciated by the family. Mabel was a true friend to many and took great pleasure in making shortbread cookies or sending flowers to anyone whom she felt needed to know she was thinking of them. She would also add them to her prayer list and tell them so. Mabel was an active member of St. Andrew's United Church for over fifty years. Mabel volunteered for many years with the Canadian Cancer Society Service to Patients, Sooette Welfare Club and the Plummer Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Mabel graduated as a registered nurse from the Plummer Memorial Public Hospital in 1939 and she was very proud to be a nurse. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Erika Dahlmann and Betty Saarimaki, Diane Hilderly from CCAC, Nurses Karen Emlaw and Gilda Greco and the many kind staff members of Pathways Retirement Residence for all their loving care of Mabel.

Elfrida Dabulskis (Riseng) passed away peacefully at the General Hospital on Saturday May 24, 2003 in her 76th year. Youngest daughter born in Solor i Valer, Norway on January 13, 1927 to Helene and Ole Riseng. Beloved wife of the late Benius Dabulskis, and much loved mother of the late Alfredas, Regina Rydall (Darwin) of Echo Bay, Mary Wells (Eugene) of Manitouwadge, the late Rita Mitchell (Tom) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ben Dabulskis (Gloria Waller) of East Jordan, Michigan, Rachel Nicholson (Joe Luxton), Anna Riseng and Kelly Dabulskis all of Sault Ste. Marie and Susan Dabulskis-Hunter (Steve) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Wonderful grandmother to Ramona (John), Monica (Dave), Chantal (Ed), Amber (Joel), Katie, Grayson, Michael and Lauren. Much loved and missed great grandmother to Rebecca, Jonathon, Michael, Ryan, Jesse, Jaydah, Jade and David. Elfrida was a mother to whoever came for her delicious meals and care. She worked endlessly with her husband, Ben, out at Goulais Bay where they built camps and made a beautiful life together. Elfrida's singing and playing of the accordion brightened the lives of many. Her legacy lives on in the memories and stories of all those who knew her. She is already and will forever be missed. Friends may visit at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, 945-7758) on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. We say good-bye to her at St. Jerome's Church (26 Carmel Road) on Tuesday May 27, at 1:00 p.m. Interment beside her husband, Ben, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations made to the Soup Kitchen or to the Canadian Hearing Society in her honour would be appreciated by the family.

LAUZON, Robert Gerald (Bob)

Robert Gerald (Bob) Lauzon passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60 with his wife by his side and surrounded by the love of his daughter Gerri and stepdaughter Victoria. Beloved husband of 25 years of Pamela (nee Burch). Cherished father of Robbie (predeceased), Gerri Haryett (Kevin) and stepdaughter Victoria Sikorski (Michael Comartin) of Mississauga. Extra special grandpa of Sheldon Carricato. Loving son of the late Charles and Philomene Lauzon. Predeceased by his brother Lionel (Betty) of Niagara Falls. Survived by his brothers Andrew of Schreiber, Jacques (Roseanne) of the Sault, and his sister Margaret (late Walter) of Espanola. Son-in-law of the late Jack Burch (Mildred). Brother-in-law of Truman (Rhonda), Penny Reynolds, Todd, and Lester (Debbie) of Wroxeter, Ontario. Special uncle of many nieces and nephews. Bob was a dedicated superintendent of Collection and Delivery for Canada Post for 35 years. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Tuesday, May 27 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private family funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 28. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Nicola Cavaliere passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at his home, at the age of 72 years. Born on April 8, 1931 in Serra Aiello, Cosenza, Italy to the late Giovanni and Carmela Cavaliere. He leaves behind Ida, his wife and soulmate of 51 years of marriage. Son-in-law of the late Raffaele and Antonia Falsetto. Dearest father of five sons and one daughter, John (Pierina), Gino (Lina), Florindo (Gina), Enzo, Claudio (Leanne) and Dina (Michael Ferlaino). Special Nono of Nick and Sergio, Tony and Ida, Gianni, Mikayla and Matthew and Meghanne. Brother of Francesca Scanga (Nicola) of France, late Ida Rizzo (Saverio) of Italy, late Isabella Cavaliere of Italy, Linda Vespasiano (late Rosario) of Belgium and Giuseppe Cavaliere (Antonietta) of Ottawa. Beloved by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, 945-7758) on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard Majella Church on Wednesday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend George Lapierre officiating. Alexander MacKay Kinninmont (Scotty) passed away peacefully at Sault Area Hospital Nursing Home after a long illness on Saturday May 31, 2003. Alexander (Scotty) Kinninmont was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1927. Beloved spouse of Rita Kinninmont. He is survived by a son Alexander of Toronto and a daughter Eileen of Fort Francis Ont. Grandfather of 4. Stepfather of Betty Punch and Jeanne Surette. Friends may call at O'Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home, corner of Cathcart and St. James Streets, on Tuesday June 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Norbo officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations to your preferred charity would be appreciated. Our appreciation to Dr. Fraser and the staff of the 2nd floor of S.A.H. Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent medical care. John Meechan passed away peacefully, with family at his side at the Plummer Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 31, 2003 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of the late Sarah. Loving father of James (Mary) and Helen Rancourt. Cherished Granda of Derek Rancourt, Jamie, Katrina, and Michael Meechan. Dear brother of Margaret McKenzie (Bob), Mary O?Connor (Thomas), late Helen Robb (James), James (Margaret), Benjamin (Mary), Esther Reeve, and Michael (late Cathy). Brother-in-law of Margaret Findlay (late Robert), late Helen McKenna (Harry), late William McShane (late Greta), and the late Dennis McShane. John will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Sister of Rodney (Dawn) Gill, Shirley (Jerry) Down, Sherri-Anne Kendall, and Lawren (Jennifer) Alcorn. Marlene will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
