Funeral Mass for Mabel Annie (Moffit) Thomas, age 86, of 225 Capel St., Sarnia, formerly of Brooke Township, Courtright area and Sombra Township, has taken place Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Port Lambton, on Friday, September 3, 1999, with Father Parent as Celebrant. The Courtright Seniors formed an honour guard at the church and at the cemetery. Burial was in the family plot at St. John s R.C. cemetery , Sombra Township. The pallbearers were Wayne Munro, Kevin and Kelly Thomas, Ed Baumann, Tom Hofmann and Doug Goetheyn. Mrs. Thomas passed away Tuesday, August 31, 1999, at St. Joseph s Health Centre, Sarnia, (Norman House). Mabel is survived by her children Kathleen and her husband Frank Baumann of Sarnia, Angela and her husband Harold Munro of London, Jim and his wife Kay Thomas of Sombra Township, Peggy and her husband Mark Dillinger of Orange County, Ca., numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Wesley and his wife Gerry Scott of Creemore; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Thomas (1985); son William (Bill) Thomas; Daughter Loraine (Mrs. Walter Hofmann); grandson Freddy Baumann; sister Mary (Mrs. Jim Portiss); brother Charles and Gordon Scott. At Parkwood Hospital on Tuesday, September 28th, 1999, Mr. S. Miles Duffus of London in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Betty (Langrell) Duffus. Loving father of Barbara Duffus, her husband Aurelio Gomez of Spain, David, his wife Caroline, their children Ellen and Beth of Welland, Cathie Boychuk, her husband Larry, their children Laura and Heather of Lethbridge, Alberta, Dianne Crowley, her husband Peter, their children David, Daniel and Sarah of Burlington. Dear brother of Margaret Bergh of Calgary, Seth and Pat Duffus of Grimsby, Marilyn and Ozren Zivkovic of West Lorne. Predeceased by his sister Lois Stirton. Visitation was held London on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service was conducted on Saturday, October 2nd, 1999 at 11 a.m. Rev. Douglas Story officiated. Interment followed at the Tillsonburg cemetery on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. A Masonic Service under the auspices of Daylight Lodge #735 was conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the London Regional Cancer Centre, Research-Palliative Care, 790 Commissioners Rd. MARY BENNETT
Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Saturday October 2, 1999. Mary Bennett (nee Clark), in her 73rd year, daughter of the late Oliver and Laura Clark. Mrs. Bennett lived in Wallaceburg until August 1999 and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband Floyd and sons Wayne & his wife Therese and Michael, all of London. Grandmother of 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mary will always be remembered for her love towards her family and pets. Visitation was held at in London, on Sunday. Funeral service was conducted in the chapel on Monday October 4, 1999, with Fr. Lance Magdziak officiant. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association (Evans Chapel, (519)451-9350). A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Mrs. Bennett in the Furtney Funeral Homes Memorial Forest in London.

Dorothy J. Canon, nee (Hubbell) of Sarnia passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, Ontario on October 2, 1999 in her 81st. year. Loving mother of Diana Thornton (Bob) of Simcoe, Allen Partridge (Gisele) of Miller Lake, Gerry Partridge (Mihoko) of Wallaceburg, Lee Partridge (Susan) of Sarnia, sister Betty Liley (Art) of Port Austin, Michigan and sister-in-law Anne Hubbell of Aylmer. Predeceased by her first husband William Partridge (1972), second husband Albert Canon (1989) and brother Bob (1999). Survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
