John Poirier in his 78th year was the beloved husband of Ellen (nee Newell) Poirier for 55 years. Loving father of Keith Poirier of Wawa and Sharon Boppre (Barry Scully) of Plattsville. Dear grandfather of Trevor (Shannon Bluhm) of Burlington. John is survived by many cousins. After his retirement from Budd Canada John enjoyed traveling in his motor home. He was a long time member of F.M.C.A. and W.I.T. and a charter member of O.T.T. He had also been a volunteer Fireman before moving to K-W in 1966. John’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. At the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener 749-8467. passed away peacefully at Tendercare on Sunday, August 29, 2004 in his 84th year. Loving husband of Jean for 49 years. Dear father of Anne Callaghan (Mike) of Sault Ste. Marie and John Close (Mary) of North Bay. Grandfather of Jim, Dan, Laura, Matthew, David, Christie, Greg and Kayla. Bob was a private in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps from 1941 to 1946. He served in Canada, United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean Area and Continental Europe. He was born and lived his life in Toronto, moving to Sault Ste. Marie in 2002. A memorial service will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 12 noon. Rev. Mr. Len Monico officiating. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family. A special thanks goes to the wonderful, caring staff at Tendercare Nursing Home. Cherished Dada of Lisa Wadden (Stan), Michael Candido (Laurie), Shaun O'Neil (Kristi), Alicia O'Neil (Craig), Matt and Aron Yukich. Predeceased by sisters Mary (Joe Grisevich), Rose, Dora and Helen (late Louis Morisini) and brothers Tony, Joe (Florence) and Martin (Kay). Loving brother of Minnie Cedolia (late Armand) and Elsie Hupka (Vic). Brother-in-law of the late Annie Morrassut. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Supported by her loving children Mary Trebb (Ron), Anne Magill (Barry), Paula Worton (Tim), Kathy Nyman (Bryan), Bill Miller (Brenda) and Roberta “Bizz” Paquette (Claude). Wonderful Grandma Bea “Grizz” to Matthew, Andrew, Christopher, Kelly, Lindsay, Kevin, Melanie, Stephen, Bill, Joanne, Gordon, Michelle, Chantal, Joe and Renee. Bea was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1978. As the eldest of the Blind River Baker’s Dozen, created by Lester and Blanche Provencher, she was an integral part of the lives of her siblings and their spouses Fred, Flora (late Walter), Esther (John), late Claire (late Tom), John (late Theresa), Phillip (Joey), Marguerite (Manny), Paul (Veronica), Henry (Mary), Eugene, Eileen (Larry) and Tom (Anne Marie). Treasured aunt to a multitude of nieces and nephews who will miss her terribly. Bea enjoyed a full life nursing, raising a family and befriending many. She will always be remembered for her limitless supply of baking, her love of games, especially bridge and scrabble and her warm and supportive ways. Beloved husband of the late Muriel Frances (Gernon) Lillie and loving father of Donald (Jennie), Richard of California, Gerald of Ottawa, Warren (Frances) of Toronto and Maureen Sennette of Vancouver. Beloved son of the late George and Emma Lillie and dear brother of Lorne Lillie (Laura) of Toronto and the late Thelma King (Jack). Brother-in-law to the late Ted Gernon (Lucille) and the late George Gernon and survived by sister-in-law Rita Gernon and family. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home, corner of Cathcart and St. James Sts. Tuesday August 31st from 6 p.m. until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. J. Lazorek officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of Olga announced her passing at the Markham Stouffville Hospital on Wednesday, July 28th, 2004. Olga was born in Havrelevtsi, Ukraine on December 25, 1925 to the late William Wiwcharuk and the late Maria Lypka. Olga leaves behind her special step-mum, Maria Wiwcharuk of Saskatchewan. Beloved mother of June Dyni, Goulais Bay; Michael (Monica) Semeniuk, Whitby; and the late David (Evelyn) Semeniuk, Markham. Baba of Steven (Jhoane) Dyni, Ana Marie (Andrew) Felker and Natasha Dyni and Babka of Randall, Marshall and Sherall Semeniuk and Jennifer Semeniuk. Proud great Babka of Sabrina and Jazmine Dyni and Christina Felker. Predeceased by sister Anne Kovacheff and brother John Wiwcharuk; survived by brothers and sisters, Steve (Aulie) Wiwcharuk, Watford; Agnes Bilanchuk, Saskatchewan; Richard Zabolotny, Windsor; Elsie Sawchuk (Norman), British Columbia; Rachelle Petrusenko; and Mike (Pam) Wiwcharuk, Manitoba. Olga will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Olga worked for many years as the Head Bookkeeper for the Sheet Metal Workers – Local 30. After retirement, Olga enjoyed traveling to many countries around the world including her birthplace in the Ukraine. She loved organizing bus tours for her friends from Club 30 and fellow residents at the Swan Lake Retirement Community. Olga also loved her card games and was very involved in the Euchure and Bid-Euchure Clubs at Swan Lake. Even though she will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched, Olga will never be forgotten. In keeping with Olga’s wishes, following cremation, family and friends attended a Remembrance of Olga’s life at the Dixon Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N., Markham, ON, on Saturday, July 31, 2004 a memorial service followed. If desired, donations in memory of Olga may be made to the Markham Stouffville Hospital or the charity of your choice.
