passed away peacefully, after a courageous struggle, at the General Hospital on Tuesday, June 8, 2004; Eva Visconti at the age of 61 years. Beloved wife of the late Warren Visconti and fiancee of Len Barlett. Dear mother of; Frank, the late Warren and Raoul (Melissa). Special Nana of Tiana and Taner. Daughter of the late Romeo and Roma St. Germain. Sister of; late George St. Germain (Donna), late Romeo St. Germain (Jean), late Donald St. Germain (late Pat), Norman St. Germain (Judy), James St. Germain (Cecilia), Nora Gauthier (Edwin) and Raymond St. Germain. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday, June 11, 2004 from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Conway officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital (Oncology Unit) would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. D. Walde and all the nurses at the Sault Area Hopsitals. .

DEWAR, Jamie Milton

Tragically May 30, 2004 at the Ottawa Heart Institute with family surrounding him at the age of 40. Beloved companion of Marlene Clovis and father of Jonathan and Tamika. Special friend of Suzette Briault and Dan See. Son of Jim Dewar. Son-in-law of Mary Briault and Jim Grant. Survived by his aunts and uncles, Teddy and Adrien Morin, Elaine Boyer, and Karl Koros, Sid and Theresa Dewar, Tommy and Terry Delaney, and Kathleen Gassi. His cousins and special friend Debbie, Laurie, Mickey, Norline, Kellie, Juanita, Dawn, Colleen, Regan, Ryan and Rachel. Jamie will be sorrowfully missed by friends at GPEC where he worked and was family for a decade. His gregarious nature lit up the office and the many locations he visited for work. Goodbye, we all loved you and we will remember. A service was held at the Life Centre in Ottawa on Thursday, June 3, 2004. At the same time another service was being held on the Island of St. Lucia. An interment and family and friends get together will be arranged at a later date in Sault Ste. Marie in celebration of his life.

passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at the age of 68. Beloved wife of Hilding for 50 years. Loved mother of Ed, Luan Peters (Ken) and Kevin (Brenda). Dear Grandmother of Lauren and Erika Peters and William Erickson. Sister of Beatrice Hamor (John), Russell Donaghue (Frances), Wanda Celetti (Mario), Dwight Donaghue (Sharon Graham), Rebecca McGoldrick (Joe) and the late Dale Donaghue (Betty) and Ada Isobel. Step-sister of Herb Fuller (Lynne). Daughter of the late Millicent Reed and Charles Donaghue. Sister-in-law of Evelyn Bailey (late Elmer), Violet Pigoni (late Eugene) Herbert Erickson (late Muriel), Julleen Valiquette (Jack) and the late Leonard Erickson (late Mary), Emile Erickson and Ellen Johnston (late Donald). Remembered by many nieces and nephews. At Leona’s request a graveside service will be held at Richards Landing Cemetery on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 11 am. Rev. Bruce McLeish officiating. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 759-2522.

“The way to love is to know that it can be lost.” It is with saddened hearts the family announces the passing of our precious husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather from the General Hospital on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in his 94th year. Ernie leaves to mourn his wife Kathleen (nee Foley), daughters Gayle Whittaker (Dave), Gwen MacDonald (Ron) and is predeceased by his son Rev. Garry Foreman (wife Marg of British Columbia). Brother of Rose Gregg (late Mac), Chris Morrise (Chuck), Olive Bryant (Bill), Dave (Rae), Harry (late Beryl) and the late Helen Eingle. He was born in Regina Saskatchewan October 10, 1910, served as Lance Bombardier in WWII. His life spanned in many areas as teacher and technician with the Ford Motor Company. He will be remembered for his interest in music, mechanics and ministry (Matt. 6:9-13). At Ernest’s request, a private service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (705-759-2522). Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

passed away peacefully, at the Sault Area hospital, Plummer Site on Sunday, June 6, 2004; Jack Stewart at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband, best friend and soul mate of Lillian. Dear father of Eric (Marg), Barbara Whittick (Glen), Heather Cullen (Jim), Brent (Jennifer), Marla Thibodeau (Norman) and pre-deceased by daughter Debra Jane. Grandfather of Patti Stewart (fiancé Patrick Renaud) and Michael Stewart, Alexander and Carol Whittick, Amanda & Marie Cullen, Lance, Dillon & Samatha Jo Stewart and Laura Thibodeau. Great-grandfather to Kaitlin Renaud. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Daryl Price officiating. VAJDA, Peter

passed away in Leamington, Ontario, Wednesday, January 14, 2004. Born in Czechoslovakia August 10, 1913. Came to Canada in 1930, landing in Montreal, Quebec. Peter worked in Nova Scotia and then Sudbury where he worked in the nickel mines. He then moved to Chapleau and worked as a cook in the lumber camps and finally moved to Blind Rever and owned and operated the Vajda Motel. Later he moved to Iron Bridge. Peter retired to Sault Ste. Marie and then to Kingsville, Ontario. Cremation was completed in Windsor, Ontario in January. A memorial mass will be held in Blind River, Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. James the Greater with Father Jim Ketzler officiating. Interment of ashes at Hillside Cemetery, Blind River. (Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home, Blind River)

ANNA KUSY, Sister Mary Anne

It is with sadness that The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie announce the death of Sister Mary Anne (Anna Kusy), on Friday, June 4, 2004 in the Infirmary of St. Joseph’s Motherhouse, North Bay, Ontario surrounded by Sisters. Sister Mary Anne was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and entered The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie in September 1943. A teacher and artist Mary Anne ministered in schools throughout Northern Ontario, including: North Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay and Sturgeon Falls. Sister spent several years in Parish Ministry in Welland, Ontario with her twin sister Sister M. Euphrasia. They later resided at the Christ the King apartments in Sudbury, where they ministered to the resident of the building. Sisters Mary Anne and Euphrasia moved home to the Motherhouse in 1997. Since that time Sister Mary Anne has resided in the Infirmary. Artists, Sisters Mary Anne and Euphrasia designed congregation pins and cards and fine art work. They are also remembered for their strong advocacy of children and the poor. Since the death of Sister Euphrasia in 1999, Sister Mary Anne longed to be with her once again and deeply mourned her loss. It is with joy we acknowledge their reunion in Heaven where we know Mary Anne will once again be at peace. Sister Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents, Theodore Kusy and Catherine Krevonos, a brother William, twin sister (Sister Euphrasia) and another sister Jean. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The body of Sister Mary Anne will be received in Holy Family Chapel of St. Joseph’s Motherhouse at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2004. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, June 7, 2004 at 11 a.m., in the Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Joseph’s Motherhouse, North Bay. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Bay.

BISCEGLIA, Antonio

passed away peacefully, at the Mauno Kaihla Koti (Ontario Finnish Rest Home) with his family by his side on Saturday June 5, 2004; Antonio Bisceglia at the age of 79 years. Loving and devoted husband of Rosalia. Cherished father of Maria Posteraro (Anthony). Dear nonno of; Anthony and Andrew. Brother of; the late Teresina, the late Amadeo, Mafalda of New York, the late Alfredo, the late Luigia and Peter of New York. Antonio will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Gregory's Church on Wednesday June 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim McKay officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations made to Mauno Kaihla Koti Residents Council, S.A.H. Foundation or to St. Gregory's Church would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful, caring compassionate staff at Mauno Kaihla Koti for the kindness and excellent care they provided Antonio for the past few years.
