passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in her 92nd year. Born on St. Joseph Island to Mary (Morton) and John Brason. Predeceased by her loving husband Andrew Spy. Cherished mother of Joan McGowan (Joseph) of Denver, Colorado and Nancy Pratt (Allan) of Bracebridge. Proud grandmother of Joanne, Susan, Sheree, Shawn, David, Robyn, Susan, Laura and Andrew. Great grandmother of Darren, David, Jake, Rebecca, Brandon, Christopher, Morgan, Jennifer, Andrew, Lauren, Michael, Carter, Austyn, Galen, Reese and Tate. Great great grandmother of Tristian. Sister of the late Clifford Brason (late Isobel), the late Albert Brason (late Irene), Margaret Taylor (late Edgar), the late Jack Brason (Joan) and Joan Shannon (late John). Special aunt to Alyson and Kristine and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Cathedral on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. The Very Rev. Garry Dobinson officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A special thank you is due to the wonderful nurses and staff at the Plummber Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Dr. Susan Febbraro. Peacefully after a courageous battle on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the age of 66. Loving companion of Yvon Lachappelle of Wawa. Dear mother of Sharon Rowe (Bob) of Labrador and Sandra Nowitski (Brent) of Kenora. Grandma of Stephanie Nowitski, Maegan, Kathryn and Christine Rowe. Predeceased by her grandson Shane Nowitski. Daughter of the late Thomas and Desneiges Wilson. Sister of Dorothy Comtois (Henri), Leonard Wilson (Roxanne), Eugene Wilson (Cecile), Gloria Grisdale (Glenn), Paul Wilson (Julie), Beatrice Pozzo (Ernie) and the late Gerald, Darcy (late Doris), Raymond (Jackie) and Donald (Monique). Remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Blind River in the summer. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (705-759-2522).

Age 74, of Kincheloe, Michigan, died Thursday, January 26, 2006 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born June 14, 1931 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada to Clarence Herbert and Madge Madeline (Logan) Elgie. Bonnie earned a degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. She married Charles E. Wales on September 1, 1955. They owned and operated a commercial laundry business in Westminster, California for nearly 30 years. Bonnie also taught piano to countless aspiring young musicians. In 1987, they retired and made Kincheloe their home. Bonnie enjoyed golfing and a good game of 313. Bonnie is survived by one daughter, Tracey (John Philip) Gard of British Columbia, Canada; and one sister, Joan (Fred) Gard of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1996. Memorials may be made to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, 861 Second Line East, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada P6B 4K4. Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford is serving the family.

passed away peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby, Ontario, January 25, 2006, one month short of her 92nd birthday. Beloved wife of the late Mark West. She will be sadly missed by her sons Ian, Alex, David and Neil and their wives Sheila, Lois, Diana and Lynn. Loved grandmother of 11; David, Sean, Randy, Rob, Mark, Glen, Don, Megan, Cam, Ian, and Ryan. Great grandmother of 11; Thomas, Julia, Claire, Nicole, Joshua, Jakob, Matthew, Sarah, Dana, Kate and Colin. Also survived by sisters Donalda (Mount) and Marie (Ryan) and brothers Angus, Leonard, Vernon, and David Harnden and their families. Visitation January 27, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and service on January 28 at 10:00 a.m., Stonehouse Whitcomb Funeral Home, 11 Mountain St., Grimsby Ontario. BONENFANT, (Joseph) Denis

It is with great sadness that the families of Denis Bonenfant announce his death on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in his 54th year at the Sault Area Hospital after a most courageous battle with cancer. Denis is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Eleanor, married on December 27, 1981. He is also survived by his parents, Yolande and Lionel Bonenfant and his sisters and brothers Diane, Suzanne (Art), Roger and Marc and predeceased by brother Gilles. He will be sadly missed by stepchildren Lynne, Stephen (Heather) and Philip, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Leona, Dorothy and Clair and many nieces and nephews. He was educated in Sturgeon Falls at Ste. Therese D'Azila and Franco Cité, continued postsecondary education at Sault College and worked at Algoma Steel before joining the RCMP in 1974. He was stationed as Constable in Campbellton, NB for three years before serving with the Security Service Section in Ottawa. A transfer to Elliot Lake resulted in a promotion to Corporal. Three years later a promotion to Sergeant brought him back to the Sault Ste. Marie detachment where he provided leadership for 15 years. During this time, he volunteered to serve in Haiti with the International Criminal Intelligence Training Assistance Program (ICITAP). Throughout his career he gathered many awards and respect from law enforcement colleagues. Denis was a skilled draftsman, carpenter and master chef/barbecuer. His grandchildren and feline friends will miss his good-natured teasing and he will be sadly missed at family gatherings, but his ring toss game will be enjoyed for years to come. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, January 29, 2006 from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Willowgrove United Church (Tilley Road) on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 11 am. Rev. Bruce McLeish and Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Interment West Korah Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the SAH Oncology Unit or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Spadafora, Dr. Walde and all the wonderful staff in oncology who became friends of Denis over the course of his treatment. Special thanks also go to Brenda and Cindy who provided excellent home care.

Devoted husband and lifelong love of Elsie (nee Daynard) for 52 exceptional years. The true meaning of a father to Steven (late Darlene), Karen, Brian and Darlene Childs-Ulch (Walter). The epitome of father to his granddaughter Michele Ulch (Jeremy Schryer). His grandchildren were his shining stars including Billie-Jo Childs (Joe), Jennifer Breckenridge (Mark), Stephanie Fisher (Robert), Rae Ann Perrault (Rick), Roberts Childs-Bryant, Denna Childs-Rancourt (Jay). Proud great grandfather of Vicki, Christine, Michael, Kendra, Riley, Curtis, Tyler, Brendan, Samantha, Kyle and Matthew. Son of the late Stan and Beatrice Childs (Odber), brother of Henry Childs (Gloria), Irene Daynard (Dave), the late Jack Childs (Betty), the late Joan Daynard (Maurice) and the late Joyce Lukala (Arnold).
