MATTHEWS, Sharon
Friday, December 30, 2005
At Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday December 27, 2005 with her family at her side, Sharon Matthews in her 58th year. Dearest mother of Teri Rivard and Robert Matthews. Grandmother of Taylor Alexis Pollard and Paige Ambeault Matthews. Devoted daughter of Rose and the late William P. Baic. Dear sister of Bill (Theresa) and Ron Baic. In keeping with Sharon's wishes, private family services took place this afternoon at O'Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home with Msgr. Bernard Burns officiating. Followed by cremation at Greenwood Crematorium. Donations to the Community Cancer Clinic would be appreciated. Sharon's family would like to express their gratitude to Drs. Walde and Keith, the devoted nursing staff and Father Paul Conway for the care and compassion shown to Sharon during her illness.

RYAN, Donna (nee Lamming)

Peacefully with family by her side on Friday, December 30, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 65. Dearly beloved wife of Al Ryan. Most loved mother of Mike (Sherry), Tim (Diane), Debbie Hudson (Harry), Christine Guzzo, Donald (Kelly) and the late Robert. Cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and grandog Sam. Daughter of the late Frank and Anna Lamming. Adored sister of Doris Anich (late John), Marion Calvert (Bob), Walter Lamming (Brenda), Gordon Lamming (Betty), Chester Lamming and the late Jack Lamming (Virginia). Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm. Memorial contributions to the SAH Cancer Clinic or Oncology Unit would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care staff, Bayshore nurses and Wecare nurses for the excellent care given to Donna.

BENTLEY, Doreen Doris (Richards)

In her 84th year; loved partner of Lloyd for 62 years. After eight months of wonderful care at the John Noble Home in Brantford, Ontario and fighting pain and suffering for four years, Doreen mercifully surrendered on December 27, 2005; loving mother of Richard (Carol Lyons), Roger (Debbie Planz) and Christopher (Patti Kalka); grandmother of Maryann DiFelice (Gino), Celine, Leah, Laura and Christine Bentley; great-grandmother of Mia and Marco DiFelice. In her teens Doreen excelled in sprinting and raced at the C.N.E. against Stella Walsh who held the world record. Doreen once enjoyed home and school, the Colonel Colquohoun Chapter of the I.O.D.E. and the W.M.S. of the Fairview United Church. Friends will be received at the Dennis Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday December 30, 2005. Service in the Chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. Interment later in the family plot at Farringdon Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association appreciated.

Loving mother of Birdie Davey (Fred), Lynn (Arlene), Ted (Zona), Dennis and Cindy Bernard (Stan). Leone will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and by her many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of the late Dorothy David (late Joe) and the late Helen Boston (late Hector). At Leone’s request there will be no funeral service. Peacefully at his home on Tuesday December 27, 2005 at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Shirley Robb-Shaw and the late Jean Shaw. Beloved father of Brenda O'Dell (Larry) of Kansas City, Missouri, Colleen Cedolia (Paul) of Sault Ste. Marie and Darrin Shaw of Cambridge, Ontario. Eldest and much loved son of the late Wesley Shaw and Bertha Plester Shaw Wright. Dear brother and friend of Fred Shaw of Toronto. Treasured grandfather of Precious, Benjamin (Annie) and Autumn Cedolia. Step-grandfather of Michael and Shannon O'Dell. Honoured and loved stepfather of Warren Robb (Merron), Terrance Robb (Anita), Virginia Robb-Luff (Ian) and Gordon 'Chipp' Robb. Aubrey was a delighted and loving step-grandfather to 9 young adults and step-great grandfather to 15 children. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Community of Christ Church (585 McNabb Street) on Saturday December 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Priest Floyd Edwards presiding. (The immediate family will be available to receive your condolences at 1:15 p.m.) All guests are invited to attend a reception with light refreshments in the Lower Auditorium following the service. A special thank you to Dr. C. Bruni, Sault Area Hospital Staff, Algoma Community Care Access Centre, Bayshore Home Health Care and the Northwood Funeral Home. A very special thanks to Aubrey's Palliative Care Nurses Kim and Marnie. In lieu of floral tributes please feel free to make a contribution in Aubrey's name to a charity of your choice. (February 19, 1991 ~ December 27, 2005) – Tragically on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the age of 14. Loving and caring daughter of Donald Turner (Lori) and Maureen Swanson (Dave). Loving sister and best friend of Ashley Marie Swanson and Allan Turner. Beloved step sister of Shane Erdman. Loving granddaughter of grandfather David Swanson Sr., grandmother Lila Swanson (Jim) and grandparents Allan and Carol Turner. Sadly missed by uncles Dale Swanson and David Swanson Jr., and aunts Karen Swanson (Darryl), Brenda Swanson (Johnny) and Patsy Swanson (Ken). Amanda will also be missed by her close cousins Melissa, Tiffany, Christopher, Tara, Michael, Katelin, Curtis, Shelby, Anthony, Albert, Danielle, Chelsey, Reanna and Mitchell. Amanda will be sadly missed by all her family members and her friends. Family and friends may call the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, January 2, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated from St. Veronica’s Church on Tuesday, January 3, 2005 at 11 am. Rev. Paul Conway officiating. Loving father of Tim (Dian), Jon (Cindy), Andy and Paul. Grandfather of Lauren, Matthew, Ryan, Kendall, Charlene and Michelle Wood. Brother of Marilyn Perks of Palm Desert, California and the late Ellen Marie Gillman (Ross) of London. Son of the late Lyall and Blanche Wood. Visitation will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Thursday, December 29th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at West Park Baptist Church, 1151 Royal York Road, on Friday, December 30th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kevin Rutledge officiating.
