Suddenly in Florida on Sunday, December 23, 2001, Gordon John Marshall of Point Clark, Yemen Florida and formerly of St. Marys. Beloved husband of Nancy Marshall (nee Wilhelm). Loving father of Jeff Marshall and friend Rita Fatila of Toronto, Kimberley Marshall of Vancouver and Scott Marshall of Edmonton. Dearly loved son of Dorothy A. Marshall of St. Marys and the late Jack Marshall (1975). Dear brother of Robert and Vesta Marshall of Strathroy, Ruth and Glen Martin and Ross and Carolyn Marshall all of St. Marys, Bernice Caughlin of London, Joyce and Glenn Barr of Collingwood, Vernon Marshall of St. Marys, Glen Marshall of Edmonton Alta., Jack Marshall of Mississauga and Barry Marshall and Angie Morrow of Kitchener. Brother-in-law of Dougal Dorland of Woodstock, Robert and Debra Wilhelm of Prospect Hill and Christina and Cecil Lapshinoff of Vernon, B.C. Sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by sisters Margaret Dorland (1995) and Doris Marshall (1975), mother-in-law Shirley L. Wilhelm (1999) and father-in-law Russell C. Wilhelm (1997). Isabel Black
Miss Isabel Black, age 91, of Woodland Towers, Stratford passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, February 8, 2002. She was born in Durham, Ontario daughter of the late William and Jessie Black. She moved to St. Marys at the age of 3 and came to Stratford in 1976. She was a member of Central United Church, Stratford, Area World Aid and the Stratford Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by nieces and nephews Heather and husband Don Galloway of Stratford, Isabel and husband Bob Anderson of London, Keith McCully and fiancee Jane Ferris of Stratford, Joan MacKenzie, Margot Morgan and Bill Morgan, Margaret Black and David Black. Also survived by 11 great nieces and nephews, 4 great great nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Helen Black of Dundas. Predeceased by brothers Burnett Black in infancy and John Black and by her sister Mrs. R.K. (Dorothy) McCully. Cremation. Thomas H. Arnold
Thomas H. Arnold, 93, of Cedarcroft Place, Stratford, died Friday in Stratford General Hospital. Born in Manchester, England, Tom was a professional musician all his life. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 and settled in Kitchener, where he taught piano, accordion and organ. In 1965, he retired from teaching and took up piano tuning, which he kept up until his late 80s. He and his wife, Gladys, whom he married in England in 1932, spent many happy winters in Bradenton, Florida, before health concerns intervened just one year ago. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roy (June) of Kent, England, and Peter (Joan) of Waterloo; one daughter, Yvonne (Ray) Stanton of Stratford; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mary Cressman
Mrs. Mary Winnifred Cressman, age 87, of People Care, Stratford passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, August 1, 2002. She was born in Peel Township, daughter of the late Joseph Herman and the former Margaret Siefreid. Mary and her husband, Enos, farmed in South Easthope Township for many years. He predeceased her in June of 1970, when Mary moved to Stratford. She had been employed with Samsonite until her retirement, was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, the CWL and was a former member of Elmhurst Women s Institute. Predeceased by her husband Enos Cressman. She is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Frost, California, sisters Helen and husband Edward Kuntz, Waterloo, Margaret Weaver, Kitchener, Eileen and husband Charles McManus, Elora; several nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by a sister Frances Phelan and by a brother James Cressman. Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, August 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford on Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. Mrs. Margaret Enid Wilhelm, 77, of Eagle Drive, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, October 24, 2002. She was born in Stratford April 22, 1925, daughter of the late Harry Almost and former Hazel Moyer. Margie was a member of Parkview United Church, Stratford, where she was a dedicated member of the choir for 65 years and was a member of the UCW. She was also a member of the Stratford Camera Club and The Golden Triangle RV Club. Beloved wife for 57 years of Ray Wilhelm. Loving mother of Christine and Wayne Ainslie, London and Murray and Cheryl Wilhelm, Stratford. Grandmother of Robert Willms, Hans and Wendy Willms and their daughter Alexis. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cora and Willis Beehler, Ivan Wilhelm, Richard and Eileen Wilhelm. Morris Wilhelm, Rachael Wilhelm, Ed Bankert and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister in infancy and by brothersin-law and sisters-in-law Chester Wilhelm, Amanda Bankert, Rusty Wilhelm and Virginia Wilhelm. Our rainbow has gone. Frank Robert Pelling
Frank Pelling, a resident of Keady, a veteran of the Second World War and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 in Owen Sound, passed away peacefully in Owen Sound on Thursday, December 19, 2002 at the age of 82. Frank was born in Fullarton, a son of the late William and Mary (Rogers) Pelling. Frank was predeceased by his wife, the former Sylvia Clegg on December 22, 1996. He is survived by his children David and wife Sharon of Meaford, Patricia and her husband Tom Marshall of Stratford and Michael Pelling and his friend Linda of Markdale. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Mark and Stephanie Pelling of Otterville and their children Brett and Mckenzie, Jennifer and Rod Wren of Meaford and their children Shawna and Zackeri, Kevin Marshall and his wife Paula of Vernon, British Columbia and their children Kyle and Kadia and Michael Pelling Junior. Frank was predeceased by a granddaughter Heidi Marshall He was a dear brother of George Pelling and his wife Ivy of Mississauga. A memorial service and celebration of Frank s life will be conducted at the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 1049 4th Avenue West in Owen Sound, at a date to be announced. Committal and interment of Frank s cremated remains will be conducted in Fullarton cemetery. Ross Harvey Kemp of Listowel, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 9, 2003 in his 74th year. Loved father of Catherine Kemp of Canmore, Alberta, Jennifer Kemp and her husband Shin Kamikubo of Toronto and Jeff Kemp and his wife Doris of London. Lovingly remembered by his grand- children Natalie, Mallory and McKenzie. Dear brother of Lois Jarvis of Mississauga. Predeceased by his wife Jean (Bell) Kemp (1977) and his parents Franklin and Grace (Elliot) Kemp. A professional auctioneer and appraiser for over 50 years, Ross was also an avid fisherman and prolific storyteller. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
