Quietly at the General Hospital, following a short illness, surrounded by her family on October 18, 2006 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John Fisher. Dearest mother of Grant and Gladys Fisher, Sandra and the late Norman Ferguson, Terrie Szczepanik and Bob Bye, Ian Fisher and Kathy Jondreau. Devoted grandmother of Natalie Fisher of Windsor, Ontario, Glen Fisher and Amy Jolicoeur, John and Marnie Fisher, Blythe and Ed Servant, Catherine and Mark O’Donnell of Hamilton, Ontario, Hayley Evon, Brian Szczepanik and Nicole Murray, John and Rachelle Szczepanik all of Windsor, Ontario, Shannon Jondreau of Ottawa, Ontario and Kayleigh Fisher. Great grandmother to many. She is predeceased by her parents Milton and Harriett Dinsmore. Sister of Leslie and the late Irma Dinsmore, Rita and the late Malcolm Phillips, the late Merle and Alice Dinsmore and the late Royce Dinsmore. Sister-in-law of the late James and Ethel Fisher, the late Robert and Edna Fisher, the late Rita and Sandy Carmichael, and the late Catherine Marshall. We regretfully announce the passing of Joanne Jean Hoyle in her 50th year, at the Plummer Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Joanne leaves behind the apple of her eye, her son Christopher, her mother Terry (late Douglas) Hoyle, her sister Donna (John) Scott, brothers Sam (Darlene) and Larry. She will be sadly missed by her nieces Alyson Scott, Danielle, Meagan, and Samantha Hoyle, and nephew Kevin Hoyle. Survived by her aunts Jenny (Bill) Spencer and Marion (late Mark) O'Connor and many cousins, friends and co-workers of Thessalon Algoma Manor. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Doctors Walde and Fratesi, the nurses and workers of the Oncology and Palliative Care Units of the Plummer Hospital, the nurses of CCU at the General Hospital. Special mention of the nurses, especially Paula, of Palliative Care. Visitation will take place at the Thessalon Anglican Church of the Redeemer on Thursday, October 19, 2006, from 7-9 p.m. and again on Friday, October 20, 2006, at 1 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Donations to the education fund for Joanne's son gratefully accepted.

She will be deeply missed by Frank Hallam, her children; Rod Bateman (Marlene), Debbie Clark, Billy Bateman (Barb), Maureen Burghardt (Dan), her son-in-law Bill Clark, her grand children; Charlene Clark (Phil), Jodie Bateman, Adam & Mikayla Burghardt, Justine Essex, Bobby Essex (Marlene), her great grandchildren; Nicolas, Danesha and Robert Jr.; her sister Deloris McGonegal and family), her brother; Bruce Ibbitson (Suzie and family), her nephew; Kevin, her many wonderful friends and all of her special little friends who called her Grandma Betty.
