passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with her family by her side, after a short illness in her 100th year on Saturday, October 28, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Godfrey Harten in 1947 and the late Edwin Harten in 1989. Loving mother of Emerson (Arlene), Elgin (late Glenda), Phyllis Haight (Late Lyle) and the late Keith Harten (late Carol). Step mother of Harold Harten (Isabelle), Helen Richardson (late Leslie) and the late Leslie Harten. Cherished Nanny to 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Elsie Rivard (Bud) and predeceased by Ellen MacDonald (late Lockie), Edgar Cain (late Ellen), Gordon Cain (Florence), Alex Cain (Marie), Marjorie Bishop (Dick), Donnie Cain (late Tina), Lloyd Cain (late Florence) Reta Duguay (late Bruce McGregor and late Norman) and baby Douglas Cain. Annabelle taught school on St. Joseph Island, North Shore and Sault Ste. Marie and was president of the Women’s Teachers Federation of Ontario. She was still active in Retired Teachers Federation. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service at John Wesley United Church on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 12 pm. At Mauno Kaihla Koti on Friday October 27, 2006. Anni Irene Laine in her 98th year. Wife of the late Kalle Laine and beloved mother of Irma Tikka (Tenho) and dear grandmother of Timo (Camilla), Kristina (Shawn), Kari and Seija. Great grandmother of Villiam, Alek, Adrianna, Tommy (Carol), Jonathan and Keira. Great great grandmother of T.J. Anni was predeceased by her four sisters and is survived by many nieces and nephews in Finland as well as her many friends in Sault Ste Marie, Thunder Bay and Sudbury. At Anni’s request private funeral services followed by cremation will take place. Anni’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mauno Kajhla Koti and especially Helina for the friendship, care and kindness that they showed Anni while she resided with them. Surrounded by her loving family, passed quietly at the F.J. Davey Home on Monday, October 30, 2006 at the age of 83 years. Loving wife of the late Morley McLean. Survived by her children Penny Elliott (Brian), Leslie Mancini, Connie Witty (Glen), Patsy Bearden (Ken), Becky McLean (Bob), Bob (Colleen), Brian (Jan) and Jim (Jocelyne). Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Beloved sister of the late Eileen Digby, Frances Digby, late Ray Stewart, late Zena McLean, late Mervyn Stewart, Myra Jardine, late Beryl Langston and Mavis Kearns. Sister-in-law of Gladys Mitchell. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Jenny Nelson (Albert) of Hawk Junction, Joe Rainville (Kerrie) of Hawk Junction, Marnie Swan (Todd) of Cedar Springs, MI, Dan Rainville of Sault Ste. Son of Bertha and the late Walter Szcyrek and brother of Jeanette (Jen) Stewart (Late Frank), Marie St. Jacques (Peter) and Edward Szcyrek (Fay). Son in law to Huldah (Hud) Merrick and the late Frank Merrick and James Shepley. Brother in law to Edythe and the late Fred O’Hara and Nina and Ken Kilby. Fishing Buddy and close friend of Don and Kathy. Walt will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
