A gentle, loving family man, cherished by his daughters Leslie Marsh (Chris), Laurie of Edmonton and son David of Hamilton. Loving grandfather of Ryan (Jen) and Timothy Marsh and great-grandfather of Gabriel Marsh. Pre-deceased by his sister Mary, brothers Arthur, Alec, Bud and Peter. Doug enriched family life with his knowledge of the world around us with camping trips and outdoor activities; his sense of humour and fun; his Christian commitment; a life long musician, he was a talented clarinetist and Church Choir member for 40 years at Millgrove United (Southern Ontario) and Westminster Presbyterian. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral and committal service in the Chapel on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ian Johnston officiating. Memorial donations made to the Alzheimer Society or Westminster Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family. passed away peacefully at the SAH Plummer Site on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, surrounded by his adoring family after his courageous battle with cancer in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy for 55 years. Predeceased by his parents Archie and Thelma. Loving father of John (Carol), Michael (Geoff), Tyler (Nancy), Tracy and daughter in law Debbie. Adored grandfather of Jamie McLeod (Jonathan), Christie McClelland (Chris), Lindsay and Johnny. Survived by his sister Patricia Baker (Don). Predeceased by brother Nelson (Rita). Brother in law to the late Billy (late Alice), late Lorne (Jean), late Nora (late Clifford), late Hazel, late Robert (Margaret), Alice (late Wilfred), late Marvin and Shirley. Jack will be missed by his loving pet Sami. Special thanks to Dr. Susan Febbraro, Dr. Sylvana Spadafora and the nurses in Palliative Care Unit.
