Peacefully at the General Hospital surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of over 68 years to Stella. Loving father of John E., Paul (Dorothy), Aline Mooney (Jack), Ann Van Landeghem, Lucy Pilon, Shirley Pepin (Mark) and Lorrie Turco (George). Proud grandpa of Allan (Kelly), Ruth Ann (Jim), Chris (Terri), Jimmy, Margaret-Jean (René), Theresa (Doug), Bonnie (Ward), Sean (Kristin), Lisa (Derrick), Mark, Curtis (Julie), Melanie, Jake, Chantal and Megan. Great grandfather of 24. John is predeceased by his brothers Emile, Finn, Leo and Ted and sisters Lorette and Antoinette. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Loving Oma of Robin, Curtis, Tanya and Nikita. Dearly loved sister of Hede Kiefer , Rosemarie Maenner (Ernst), and the late Franziska Deiss (late Robert), all of Germany. LovingTante of Heidi Duckstein (Rudi), of Desbarats, Sybille Goeppner (Guenter), and Gabriele Herrmann (Heinz), of Germany. Great Tante of Michael (Annette) Duckstein, their children Lucas and Sabrina, of Sault Ste Marie, Stephanie Duckstein, of London Ontario, plus many other neices and nephews in Germany. Olivia welcomed many people with her warm smile and kindess, at Buttermilk Ski Hill through the years. She touched many lives and hearts, with her gentle caring ways and she will be very fondly remembered by her family, friends and neighbours. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the exceptional kindness and excellent care provided to her at home, by personal home caregivers, Anne Green and Shelia Milkovitch and the staff of the Davey Home, who tended so gently and caringly to Olivia through her illness. “The Ole’ Saw Duster” – July 1, 1925 – December 7, 2007. He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at the Sault Area Hospital - General Site in his 83rd year. Loving husband of 60 years to Marie. Father of Gloria (Gord) and Brian (Jackileen). Papa to Stephen and Shelly, grandpa of Lawson (Jessica) and Linsey. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Elizabeth, his brother Murray and his sister Jean. Brother-in-law of Mary Lou. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born December 18, 1989 in St. John, New Brunswick; Adele passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the age of 17 years. Dearly loved daughter of Denis and Julie. Loving sister of Danielle, Patrick and Phillip. Adele had Diabetes since the age of 6 years and worked hard at having a normal life in spite of it. Adele was a kind, loving and protective sister always watching over her sister and brothers. She always stood for those who had difficulty doing so for themselves. She believed in being up front, direct and honest about her feelings. Adele had the heart of a lion and cared for all things true and good. She strongly believed in family first and followed the motto, 'Families stick together and help each other out.' To her mom and dad she was that wonderful little girl with the twinkle in her eye and a zeal for life. We will all miss her and never forget her. Funeral arrangements to be announced later by the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758). Peacefully at the SAH on Thursday, December 6, 2007 in his 93rd year. Dear husband of the late Louise. Devoted father of Bob (Mary), John (Judy) and the late Ronald. Grandfather of Cameron, Christian, Michael (Jennifer), Clinton (Kara) and Charlie. Special great grandfather of David. Beloved brother of Pauline Taylor (late Jack) of Sarnia. Brother in law of the late Harry, Albert (Moon) and Fred (Mickey) Garrison. Survived by several nieces and nephews in Southern Ontario. Special friend of Red Nelson and family and Bill Patterson. Charlie was born in Sarnia on October 14, 1915 where he grew up, married then moved to the Sault in the 1930’s to work at Algoma Steel. He was a veteran, loved hunting and fishing, a past member of the Rod, Gun and Pistol Club, and the 34th Technical squadron where he attained the Rank of Regimental Sergeant Major. He was a devoted caregiver to our mother for many years.
