Peacefully at home, beside her husband of 35 years; Marlene Ann Stone at the age of 59 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Richard. Loving mother of Christopher (Jenn), Jennipher Larocque (Ryan) and Jessica. Daughter of the late Stan and Helen Coutu. Sister of; Lynda Cooper (Artie), Stanley Coutu (Wendy), Tammye Whitfield (Chris) and Penny Brewer (Glen). Daughter-in-law of the late Maurice and Beatrice Stone. Sister-in-law of; Gayle Cristillo (Michael), Robert Stone (Jackie) and Sandra Stone. Loved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Special friend of Beth Desaulnier. Peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Tuesday November 20, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Dear husband of Ellen for 60 years. Loving father of; Mary Ellen Szadkowski (Ted), Chris (Cathi), Georgia Katajamaki (Michael), Laurie Aceti (John), Heather (Greg Chisholm) and Erin Saunders (Greg). Cherished grandfather of 21 and great grandfather of 10. Son of the late Austin and Jessie Thompson. Dear brother of Marion Savela (late Bill), late Chuck (Valda) and the late Dora Weldon (Ken). Brother-in-law of Kay Hamilton (late Fred), Geraldine Lavergne (late Gus), late Gerard Heaney (Julie), Peter Heaney (Rita), Pat Heaney (Darlene) and Fred Heaney (Marion). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. George served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and following his service he worked at Abitibi Paper as a cost accountant for many years until 1974 when he and Ellen moved to Thunder Bay where he worked in the accounting office of Great Lakes Paper. Throughout his life George was a community volunteer, devoting many hours to coaching hockey, the Canadian Ski Patrol, Knights of Columbus, the Great Lakes Athletic Association, Boys and Girls Club of Thunder Bay and the Canadian Red Cross Society. George is fondly remembered as the 'candy man' with a pocket full of Werther candies, which he shared with many. Special thanks to the staff of 3rd Birch at the F. J. Davey Home for their kind and thoughtful care to George for the past three years. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (McDonald Ave.) on Saturday November 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Williams officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Christy's Light Foundation, named in memory of George's granddaughter Christy Aceti, to support those affected by eating disorders, the F. J. Davey Home Walkway to Health or the Canadian Red Cross Society would be appreciated by the family.

Grandmother of Stephanie Kay (Lance), Sherri Wyatt (Joel), Tracey Richards (Ryan), Steven (Micheline), Lesley Ferguson (Brad), Ryan Aikens (Marci) and Tanya Aikens (Shawn). Great grandmother of 13. Sister of Mayrene Fricker and predeceased by her sisters Sandra, Kay, Della, Margaret and brothers Bill and John. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. (1943-2007) Peacefully passed away at home on Saturday November 17, 2007 surrounded by his family. Devoted husband of Lise Tremblay for 40 years. Much loved father of; Mark (Michelle) and Ian (Katherine Boyd). Special Poppa and friend of; Tyler, Koren (Misty Roberts) and Kyle. Duncan will be fiercely missed by family and friends both in Canada and Scotland. His clan motto translates as “Either peace or war”. Duncan fought a strong battle, but in the end, he chose peace. We would like to thank family, friends and all medical staff for their support, help and care over the last 3 months. A special thank you to home care nurse Lindsey who took care of us all! Following Duncan’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Memorial donations made to the SAH Cancer Clinic would be greatly appreciated.
