Charles W. Regis a resident of Dresden passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Public General Campus, Chatham on Saturday February 26, 2000 at the age of 87. Born in Chatham Twp., son of the late Robert and Ally (Purdy) Regis.
Charlie owned and operated a gas station in Wallaceburg for many years, he was a member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Dresden.
Beloved husband of the late Patricia Regis (December 4, 1999).
Dear brother-in-law of Maxine and Fred Sherman, Fred and Doris Houston both of Chatham, Margaret Houston of Nova Scotia, Richard and Jean Houston of R.R. #5 Thamesville.
Survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sisters, Idella McFadden, Maggie Ferguson, Sarah VanSickle, Lillie Webster, Charlotte McFadden; a brother Robert Regis; sisters-in-law
Frances Riseborough and Myrtle Graham, and a brother-in-law John Houston.
The Regis family received friends at the JOHN C. BADDER FUNERAL HOME, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Tuesday February 29, 2000 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mary Templer of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Dresden officiating.
Pall Bearers: Chuck Sherman, Ken McFadden, Gord McFadden, Leonard McFadden, Stuart McFadden, Curtis McFadden; Flower bearer: Dennis McFadden.

GERTRUDE BROAD
Gertrude Broad (Pengelly) formerly of R.R. #2 Tupperville, passed away at the Copper Terrace Longterm Care Facility, Chatham on Saturday February 26, 2000 at the age of 92.
Born in Dawn Twp., daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Steele) Pengelly.
Gertrude was a member of Zion United Church, Tupperville, and was a life member of the Zion U.C.W.
Beloved wife of the late Lorne Broad (1970).
Loving mother of Eileen Harrison of Tifton, Georgia, Barbara and Donald Longbottom of Kent Bridge, Goldie and Marie Broad of R.R. #4 Dresden, Keith and Shirley Broad of R.R. #2 Tupperville.
Sadly missed by a daughter-in-law Darline Broad of Florence.
Dear sister of Aggie McNaughton of Sombra.
Loving grandmother of 23 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by a son Donald Broad; a grandson Kevin Broad; sisters Rita, (Mrs. Byron Lindsay), Ava, (Mrs. William Weston); Brothers Almer and wife Annie Pengelly, Fred, Frank, Clarence and Robert Pengelly.
