At the Sault Area Hospital - General Site on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife for 53 years of the late Alfred Mitchell. Dear mother of Sandra, David Sr. (Lillian), Linda Montpetit (Michael), Donna Lemay (Michael), Thomas (Catherine), Joseph and the late Elizabeth. Grandmother of David (Kim) and Sarah Mitchell, Bryanna Montpetit, Jason (Rebecca) and Michael Lemay Jr., Jennifer Smith (Tim), Emily and Kate Mitchell, Cassandra Mitchell, Taylor and Sierra Mitchell. Great Grandmother of Margaret, Grace, Mitchell and Jerryd. Daughter of the late Nane Rivers and Violet Peacock. Sister of the late Florence Tanner (late Wilbert), Mary Roy, Edith Guy (late Fern), Arnold Rivers (late Rita), Harry Rivers, Frank Rivers (Betty) and survived by her sister Margaret Teresinski and sisters-in-law Pauline Thompson (late Mac) and Jean Wilcox (late Gerry). Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. At the request of Violet, there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Mother of God Church, Goulais River on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Don McMillan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital Critical Care Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Cherished mother of Rose Giovagnoli (George), Franca Guzzo (Michele) and Ann Marie Santoro. Loving nonna of Paul Giovagnoli (Machelle), Laura Scarfo (Santo), Frank Guzzo (Nicki) and Steven Guzzo (friend Lisa). Great grandmother of five. Sister of Lina Ianni (Michele). Sister-in-law of Giuseppe Santoro (Iola), Salvatore Santoro (Luisa) of Italy, Teresa Cimino (Pasquale), Emilia Santoro of Italy, Ottavio Santoro (Maria) and pre-deceased by Antonio Santoro (Emilia) and Michelina Adamo (late Eugenio). Gilda will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Gregory's Church on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Victor Amadio officiating. Dearest great grandfather of Charlotte Fowle. Dear brother of Helen Matthews (late Alex) and predeceased by Josie Wilson (late Ernie), Jenny Powley (late Len), Tony (late Irene) and Erma Talarico (late Earl). Special brother-in-law of Isabel Bordin (Reno), Romy Bock (late Ray) and the late Fanny Demers (late Lou). Nick will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Grandmother of Joe Falco, Jamie Nolan (fiancé Ron Finn), Kayla Nolan. Great grandmother of Austin, Baby Nolan (expected in early June), and Emilie Finn. Daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche Coutu. Sister of the late Don (Audrey), Bruce (Roseanne), Faye Wilson (Bob), Phil (Lorene) and Phyllis Schimmings (Wayne). Aunt to many Nieces and nephews. Member of the Lady's Auxillary, Legion Branch 25. Dearly missed sister of the late Reg Leishman (Elsie), Ted Leishman, late Esther Fuller (Frank), Evelyn Richards (Ray), late Frank Leishman (Ruth), late Edna Payette (James), Genevieve Gibbs (late Earl), late Ella Forbes (Jack), Rena Dixon (Rick), late Lawrence Hogan and the late Pte. Herman Leishman. Beloved grandmother of David Mitchell (Sharon), Paul Mitchell, Shelley Mitchell (Myles), Laura Hogan, Kevin Hogan, William Watkinson, Christopher Hogan (Jessie) and Katherine Hogan. Loved great grandmother of the late Megan Mitchell (2003) and 14 great grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
