passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Sault Area Hospitals in his 76th year. Our hearts are heavy and sad over the sudden loss of a dear husband, father and grandfather. Loving husband and best friend of Betty. Dear father of Michael Fleming (Nancy), Karen Fleming-Yost (Robert) and Nancy Howson (Jeff). Grandfather of Christopher (Vilija) and Matthew Fleming (Jessica), Jason (Kerry) and Amanda Howson. Brother of the late Jim (Evelyn) and the late Dale Fleming. Brother-in-law of Onile Paradis, Arthur Paradis (Rita), Tony Paradis (Blanche), Loretta Sweezy (Dan), Peter Paradis (Cathy) and MaryAnn Anderson (late Jim) and the late Jeanne St. Croix, Paul, Leo, Fern Paradis and Yolly St. Croix. Gord will be missed by many nieces and nephews and his friends in Fred's Trailer Park (Richards Landing). Member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Loyal Order of Moose. (April 1, 1950 - October 22, 2008) - Dearly beloved husband of Andrea. Dear son of the late Victor and Florence Haft and dear son-in-law of the late George and Nancy Hemingway. Much loved brother of Mary Jane Persic (Silvio) of Sault Ste. Marie and brother-in-law Randy Hemingway (Fabienne) of Lyon, France. Favourite uncle of Anthony Persic (Lily) and Andrea Wacker (Kevin) of Sault Ste. Marie and their children Jakob, Christopher and Drew Persic and Noah and Ariel Wacker. Favourite oncle-grandpere of Charlotte and Jerome in France. Bob will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many relatives and friends in Canada, the United States, France and New Zealand. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11 am at St. Luke's Anglican Cathedral. The Very Rev. Nelson Small officiating. Interment St. Luke's Columbarium. A luncheon will follow in St. Luke's Parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Animal Assistance Group, the Humane Society or the church or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Beloved husband of the late Rose and loving father of Tony (Anna), Ann Erechook (Richard), Thomas (Sharon) and Maggi (Patrick Dillon), Rosemary Connor (late Jim), Helen Lamon (Bill), and Catherine Mansfield (Bill). Grandfather of Chad, Derek, Kimmy, Mora, Paul, Sarah, Scott, Paul, Shane, Spencer, Maggie, Lianne, Michael, Stacey, Shannon, Samantha, Sherry, Sandra, Hannah, Michael and Micaela. Great grandfather of 9. Dear son of Ales Martin and Annie Carrol. Brother to Sister Moyra, Mardi Savage (late Thomas) and Ita Gosselin (late Joseph), and predeceased by the late George (Mary), Eugene (Molly) Martin, Ellen Scogal (late Dan) and Mary Malone (Thomas), Ann Doyle and Angela Carrol (late Mattie). Brother-in-law to Hannah Johnston (late Jim). Predeceased by brothers-in-law Paddy (Bessie), Thomas (Mardie), Peter ( Mag), and John (Kay) Savage and sisters-in-law Maggie McGuire (Kevin) and Sister Martha. Michael is also survived by many nieces and nephews and will be remembered by his many friends in Ireland, Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie. The Martin family immigrated from Ireland in 1960 and made their home in Wawa until they relocated to Sault Ste. Marie in 1987. Monday, October 27th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, McDonald Ave. from 11am to time of Funeral Mass at 1 pm with Rev. Norman Fortier officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. (May 27, 1931 - October 22, 2008) - Peacefully passed away at home in the early morning of Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Beloved husband of Carol (Nolan). Loving father of Kevin (Lynne) of Toronto, ON, Bernie of Stouffville, ON, Philip (Akiko) of Japan, Barbara Roach (Darren) of Australia and Kathy O'Neill of Edmonton. Cherished grandfather of Sophie, Ben, Sean, Kyoko, Toshiro, Jack and Candace. Dear brother of Helen Brunning (late Frank), late Florence McDonald (late Gerry), Elizabeth McDonald (late Laird), Mike O'Neill (Jean), Carl O'Neill (Angela) and the late Cyril O'Neill. Brother-in-law of Albert Nolan (Ann) and Jim Nolan. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Dr. Patrick O'Neill received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1956 and went on to obtain his certificate in Otolaryngology in 1964. He began his practice in Sault Ste. Marie in 1965. Dr. O'Neill served as a Medical Officer in Germany for four years for the Queens Own Riffles. He served as the Chief of Staff at the Sault Area Hospital from 1974-1986. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated from St. Jerome's Catholic Church (Carmel Rd.) on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 10 am. Rev. Hamish Currie officiating. A funeral mass will also be celebrated on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at St. John's Church in Glenelg Centre at 11 am. Rev. Anthony Azzopardi officiating. Interment St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Glenelg Centre. (Arrangements in Markdale, Ontario entrusted to May Funeral Home, 519-986-3310). passed away peacefully at the age of 79 at the Sault Area Hospital on October 22, 2008 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife Colleen, daughters Valerie Johnson, Sharon Proos, Kathy Kerr (Kenneth), Linda Wallace (late Doug) and only son Mike. Proud Grandpa of the late Doug Reid, Kelly-Ann Reid, Jason Proos (Janelle), Natasha Wichowski (Bart), Tiffany and Brian Wallace and Danika Anderson-Ray. Survived by his dear sisters Pat Ogden (Alex), Miriam Givens (Don) and predeceased by his friend and only brother Bailey Ray. Lincoln leaves behind 2 great granddaughters Payton and Paige Proos, many nieces and nephews and several dear friends and buddies. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Drs. Walde, Rossi and Buehner and the wonderful nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care and support to all of us. Cherished mother of Thomas (Lisa), Charlie (Samantha) and Robert (Sarah). Proud and loving grandmother of Jackson, Riley, Kianna and Christopher. Daughter of the late Louis and Kathleen Syrette. Much loved sister of Diane Jones (Harry), Ed Syrette, Tim Syrette (Darlene), Micky Syrette (Jay), Charlotte Zack (Darren), Elaine McDonagh, Paul Syrette (Brenda) and Colleen McCabe (Orville). Dear sister-in-law of Donna Robitaille (Vern), Jim McCabe (late Janet), Marlene Pine (Morley), Faye Grawbarger (George), Joe McCabe (Tammy), Orville McCabe (Colleen), Colleen McCabe (Mel), Rita McCabe (Walter) and Donna Nolan (Rich).
