Kenneth Charles Ward
(Retired machinist CN Rail 1956-1986, Life member of Stratford Lodge No. 332, A.F. & A.M. Masons of Canada, 30-year participant of Wednesday Night Men’s Bowling League-Toronto) Born in Stratford, Ontario June 6, 1930. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Ken on April 2, 2002. Beloved companion of Bernice Chahley. Ken is survived by his family Kevin and Sharon Ward and Wendy Ward, Diana and Glen Piper, Linda and Frank McCauley, Wayne and Gail Chahley and Darlene de Groot. Loving brother of Dorothy and Oliver Zorgdrager. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren and nephews. Ken will be fondly remembered for his humour, gentleness and great fishing stories. A celebration of his life will be held at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 275 Lesmill Road, Toronto (Leslie and Hwy. 401) on Saturday, April 6 from 2-3 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. Interment and memorial service to be held in Stratford at a later date. Donna Ross (nee Morrice)
Peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2002. Beloved wife of Ray for 49 years. Cherished mother of Glen, Gary and Marianne, Greg and Cheryl. Special gramma to Raymond and Raylene. Loving sister to Ruth and Don Hartlieb, Tom and Nancy Morrice and Carol and Elwood Meadows. Predeceased by sisters Nancy, Helen Siegner and Jacqueline Richards and brothers Bob and Ken, also her parents William and Hilda Morrice. Dear sister-in-law to Edna and Don Gray, aunt and greataunt to many nieces and nephews. Donna was a long time member and former president of the Pilot Club. She was a volunteer and devoted many hours to charities such as the Canadian Cancer Society and the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Many thanks to the numerous doctors in her care and a special thanks to the staff of Seven South of Hamilton General Hospital. We would also like to express our gratitude to family, friends and neighbours who helped out during this difficult time. Please, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Your cards, condolences, thoughts and prayers have been a constant reminder to us what a special person Donna is. We are very grateful. At Donna’s request, a private family service has been arranged. Cremation has taken place. “Gramma is with the angels now. may she watch over all of us.”

George Maddess
Mr. George Maddess, of Milverton, husband of the former Wilma Gummow for 55 years, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the age of 79. He was born January 26, 1923 in Mornington Township and farmed in Mornington Township for 44 years. Dear father of Jeanne Baillie and husband Clayton, Wayne Maddess, Don and his friend Pam Diebold, Marilyn Maddess and her friend Jerry Ropp, and Bob Maddess, daughter-in-law Monique Abraham. Dear grandfather of Trevor and wife Candice, Jeff and friend Bonnie, Mike and friend Diane, Cassidy, Jennifer and friend Todd, Kimberly and friend Nick, Amy and Kevin. Loving great-grandfather of Madison. Sadly missed by sisters Fern Krajaefski, Helen Tyrell, sisters-in-law Barb Gummow, Mae Leonard, brothers-in-law Lorne Rennick, Joe Gummow and wife Betty. Predeceased by parents James Maddess and the former Violet Doerr, one son Jim Maddess and one brother Lloyd Maddess, four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. Visitation at Peebles Funeral Home, Friday 2-4 p.m. where service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment Donegal cemetery. Peebles Funeral Home 141 John Street Atwood 356-2382.

Martin Bradshaw
Martin John Bradshaw, 42, of Mitchell passed away suddenly at Seaforth Community Hospital on Wednesday, December 11, 2002. Beloved husband of Kathy (Clarke) Bradshaw. Dear father of Nathan, Tatum and Cody, all at home; dear son of Lloyd Bradshaw and his wife Elizabeth of Cayuga and the late Marjorie (Dickinson) Bradshaw and Jean Windover and her husband Ken of Whitechurch; dear brother of Owen Bradshaw and his friend Marion of Cambridge, Louis McRae and his wife Diane of Hensall, Lyn Baze and her husband Paul of Mount Hope and Wendy Dadner and her friend of Toronto; dear son-in-law of Jim and Ruth Ann Clarke of Mitchell; dear brother-in- law of Kim Kistner and her husband Brian of Mitchell and Heather Clement and her husband Darrell of Tavistock; loving grandson of Reinhard Konarski of Mitchell. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandmother Cevilla Konarski (2000). Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal Street, Mitchell on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Kramer officiating. Memorial donations to the Bradshaw Family Trust Fund, Heart and Stroke Foundation or First St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund would be appreciated. Archie Stewart
Mr. Archie Stewart of St. Luke’s Place, Cambridge, passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, December 3, 2003, after a brief illness, in his 88th year. Loving husband of 61 years to Dorothy Mae (Ostell), and dear father of Reid (Sharon) Stewart, of Stratford and Lorna, of Kleinburg, Ontario. Also survived by two granddaughters, Beth and Leah Tonken, of Kleinburg, and step-grandson, Rick Harron, of Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by his parents, a brother, and his stepmother. Cremation to take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements were entrusted to Corbett Funeral Home Limited, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, Ontario, N1R 5N6.

Sidney Thomas Chipp-Smith
February 23, 2003 at age 81, peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford. Beloved husband of Maudie (nee Shilliday). Dearest father of Brian and wife Florence, Edward and wife Joan, Adrian and wife Heather, Eva and husband Ivan Hayes. Cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren in Canada and the United States.
