After a brief illness, passed away at the Sault Area Hospital Plummer Site on Wednesday June 4, 2008. June Flood, formerly of Thessalon in her 80th year, wife of the late Harry Flood. Loving mother of Marlene Brandt (Fred) of Walford, Chris Flood (Leila) of R.R.#1 Bruce Mines, Jeff Flood of Bruce Mines, Derrick Flood (Leaman) of China and the late George Flood (Kathy) of Sault Ste. Marie. Special grandmother to Tyson, Paul, Thomas, Kristopher, Justin and Stephanie and great grandmother to Tristan and Terren. Dear sister-in-law of Gerald Flood of Echo Bay, Lawrence Flood of Manitoulin Island, Charlie Flood (Lynn) of Sault Ste. Marie and Ruth Grexton (Ken) of Sudbury. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A private service was held at the Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon followed by cremation. Interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation gratefully accepted. Special thanks to the staff of Palliative Care at the Plummer and to the staff of Pathways and the General Hospital.

passed away suddenly at the General Hospital on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of Chris for 53 years. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Wilma Groen. Much loved and sadly missed mother of Ron (Sheree), Wilma (Mike), Bill (Patti) and Les (Anita). Proud grandma of Christopher (Karri), Katie, Athena, Brittany, Tayler and Conner. New special great grandma of Olivia. She left us doing what she loved best, tending to her garden and thinking of her family. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service from Westminster Presbyterian Church on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 11 am. Rev. We regret to announce the passing of Dino Defend at Sault Area Hospital (General Site) on Monday, May 20, 2008 with his family at his side. Dino Defend in his 68th year . Beloved husband of Anna-Marie for the past 40 years. Loving father of Christina Panto (Nick) and Dan. Grandfather of Mina-Rose and Nicholas Rain. Son of the late Giuseppe and Dusolina Defend. Son-in-law of Eda and the late Umbero Marzetti. Brother of Italo (Marjorie), Grace Rathwell (Dennis), Luciano (Beverley), and Anna-Marie Jeffery (Leon). Dino will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A private service was held on Saturday, May 24th, officiated by Rev. Eric Pannike, followed by cremation. Donations to the Great Northern Nursing Residents Council or Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Thank you my angels you know who you are. It is with saddened hearts we let you know that our brother Erik Raymond has passed on. At the General Hospital on Sunday May 25, 2008 at the age of 51 years. He lived a simple life and enjoyed working at Lyons Building Centre until his illness prevented him from continuing. His building sense continued and he became proficient with miniature doll house building. He was forever mailing plans. He joins his parents Walter Raymond (deceased 2005) and Doris (Sally) Teske (deceased 1968). He leaves behind a devoted brother Brian Raymond and his wife Gisele whithout whom his struggles would have been intensified. Also left behind is his sister Kelly Jean Schienbein (husband Randall) and Patty Bellarive. He will be so sadly missed by his nephews and nieces; Sarah, Kyle, Grant, Katie, Shawn and Cara Brook. There is much saddness from aunty Renee, uncle Joe, Linda, Terry and the girls, Monique, Carole and the 'Ottawa' crew and Mitka his 'adopted' sister and Jenny and Pat. Eric found much joy from Princess, his constant companion. Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial service in the Chapel of the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday May 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Algoma Residendial Community Hospice (ARCH) would be appreciated by the family.

After a courageous battle, at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday May 25, 2008; Brenda Alton at the age of 66 years. Recently predeceased by her beloved husband Maxwell Alton (April 12, 2008). Devoted and loving mother of David Alton (wife Karen), Brian Alton (wife Peggy) and Neil Alton (fiancé Rosemary). Loving grandma of Sarah (Thomas Flood), Hannah, Ashley, Ryan, Spencer and Dylan. Daughter of the late Harold and Erma Alton. Dear sister of Jennifer McMillan (husband Larry) and the late Donald. Sister-in-law of Ruth Gilbertson (husband Don) and Lorne Alton (wife Sally). Brenda will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, her many special friends especially those from the Royal Purple Lodge #333 and Joan Spin. Brenda was a long standing member of the Royal Purple Lodge #333, a volunteer at the S.A.H. and she served on many various boards. She was also the Deputy Clerk of MacDonald Township. At the request of Brenda there will be no funeral service. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Friday May 30, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Echo Bay Elks Hall--Church Street. A private family interment of Max and Brenda's ashes will take place at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation (Pulmonary Hypertension Program), the Royal Purple Lodge #333 or to the Sault Area Hospital Building Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Loving mother of Isabel Chapman (Ron), Keith Hern (Marie), Phyllis McLeod (John), Jenat McClelland (Clint), Glen Hern (Laurey), Beth Orr (Kevin) and Ken Hern. Grandmother of 18 and great grandmother of 12. Daughter of the late William and Annie Boville. Sister of the late Earl Boville (late Aldene), late Ilene Smith (late William), late Jack Boville (Dorothy) and the late Morrison. Sister-in-law of Gordon and Marjorie Hern and Allen and Sheila Hern. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 6-9 pm and again on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Bruce Mines United Church from 12:30 pm until the time of service at 1:30 pm. Loving father of Deborah Van Scoy (Billy), Cynthia Zalewski (Chris), Stephen Spadoni, Alan Spadoni (Carrie), Guy Cloutier (Vicki) and Christine Cloutier-Schmitt (Henry). Most special Grandpa of Kasey & Ryan Van Scoy, Adam, Alex & Taylor Zalewski, Angus Spadoni, Ashley & Shane Cloutier, and Brandon & Corey Schmitt. Dear brother of Doreen Bragagnolo (late Rino) their children Paul, Peter, John and their families; Dear brother Arduino (Mary Ann) their children Cathy & Mark and their families. Brother-in-law of Norman Robidoux (Gail), Pete Robidoux, Ray Robidoux and Carole Thibodeau. He will be greatly missed by his four legged companions Candy and Cane. He graduated from the University of Toronto 5T3, a member of the Ontario Association of Professional Engineers, lifetime member of the Kiwanis International, Co-Founder of C.K.C.Y Radio, President of the James Street Hardware & Furniture Company Ltd. As well as a long standing member of the Business Community of Sault Ste. Marie. Alfio was a loving, caring and sensitive man who treated everyone with great respect and worth. His warmth and love left a lasting impression on all who he came in contact with and he will always be remembered for it. passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Primo was the son of the late Guiseppe and Pierina (Tadashore). He will be sadly missed by brothers Guido (Olga) and Norman (late Barbara), sisters Laura Erlandson (late Curt) of Ohio and Donna Donofrio (Hank) and sister-in-law Naomi. Predeceased by brothers Carmen (nephew David) of Italy and Joe of the Sault. Primo was a very special uncle to his 17 nieces and nephews, great uncle to 29 and great great uncle to 11. There were many others who also considered him a special "uncle". He will be fondly remembered by many cousins and by a very special family friend Angela Roberts of Italy. Many will remember Primo as a special part of the "West End" community and the proprietor of Primo's Shoe Shine (Primo's Valet Service) on Queen Street East, a post he held with pride for decades.
