Mr Ljubomir Prtenjak (Louie)
September 15, 1921 - July 22, 2007

It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Ljubomir Prtenjak on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the age of 85.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife Milica (Mica) and daughter Javorka (Jacky).

Survived by his sister Magda (Serbia). Beloved uncle of Radomir and family, Cedo and family (Serbia), Milorad and family (Cleveland), Ruza and family (Cleveland) and many other nieces and nephews in Serbia.

Ljubomir will be sadly missed by his Kumovi Jokovic, godchildren Jovanka and Vera, and godson Aleks Stosich. Close family friend of the Vrakela and Cvijetic families.

Ljubomir was a longtime member of the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church and the Royal Yugoslav Combatants Association. The family wishes to thank the staff at Henderson Hospital, Ward 3E, and to family and friends for their kind words and support in our time of need.

Visitation will be held at L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa Street North (905-544-1147) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Pomen at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 1415 Barton Street East, with The Very Reverend Father Vojislav Pavlovic officiating. Interment to follow at Mountview Cemetery in Stoney Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Serbian Church.

April 9, 1931 - July 20, 2007

PERRIER, HELEN - (Member of the LOBA)

Peacefully, on Friday, July 20, 2007 in Peterborough. Mother of Jerry Smith, Terry Smith, Michael Perrier and his wife Laura, Heather and Allan Thomas and grandmother to her only grandchild Jennifer Thomas. She will also be remembered by her nieces Fay Ryan, Tanya Manoryk and Stacey Aguinaldo. Family and friends will be received at the "Scarborough Chapel" of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Tuesday, July 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. An Orange Service will take place at 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 25 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Mrs. Gabrielle Marie Ferland (Perreault)
June 25, 1928 - July 22, 2007

After a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, on Sunday, July 22, 2007 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of 61 years and best friend to Raymond Ferland. She will be sadly missed by her children: Rachel Manuel (J.P.), Francoise Bilodeau (Andre), Marcel Ferland (Charlene), Pauline Ferland (Dale Tysick), Gaston Ferland (Debbie), Angele Ferland (Barry Poitras), Louisette Gratton (Mike), Luc Ferland (late Roxanne) and the late Louise Ferland. She will be deeply missed by her 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Raymond Perreault (Lise) and the late Jean Paul Perreault (late Lucille). The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to all the doctors, nurses, security and all other staff at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital. Your strong and comforting care will not be forgotten. Love you Nanny.

Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Dr. (Centennial Dr and Taylor Kidd Blvd) on Thursday, July 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francois d'Assise Church, 512 Frontenac St. on Friday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow.

Mr. John Ian Moffat
July 10, 1934 - July 20, 2007

Mr. John Ian Moffat, age 73 years, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on July 20, 2007 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Ian was born in Dumbarton Scotland, where he met and married Mary Gillies in 1957. Ian worked as an ambulance driver as well as many other trades in Scotland. They had three children and in 1975 moved to Thunder Bay. Ian eventually retired from the Thunder Bay Homes for the Aged. He was a lifetime member of Connaught Lodge 511 A.F. & A.M. He loved fishing and spent many happy hours with his family at his camp on Cushing Lake. Ian is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Mary, sons John (Donna) and Alec, daughter Catherine and grandchildren Matthew, Tracey, Alexis, Kirstyn, Ian and Ryan. He is also survived by his sister Lily (John) Thomson, in Scotland, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. If friends so desire, donations to the TBRHSC Foundation-Renal Services or the Thunder Bay Interim Long Term Care Resident Council Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Masonic Brethren are asked to assemble at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Wednesday July 25, 2007 for a Masonic Service conducted by Connaught Lodge at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Therese Milot
December 21, 1927 - July 20, 2007

Milot, Therese N. (Sicard) - Peacefully on Friday July 20, 2007 at the NHS-General Site in her 80th year. Predeceased by her husband Paul (1993). Loving mother of Monique (Larry Wilson), Philippe, and Anne-Marie (Bill Draaistra). Dear Meme of Chris (Jennifer), Jenn, Eric, Emily and Eryn. Great-grandmother of Katie and Emma. Therese is survived by her brothers Lawrence, Henry and Vincent, her sister Beatrice and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving friend and companion, Hector Poulin. She was a dedicated and long time parishioner of Eglise Immaculee Conception. Over the years she served as a member of Les Filles d’Isabelle, Les Dames Chretiennes, Le Club de I’Amitie and the St. Vicent de Paul Society. She dedicated her life to her church.

The family will receive friends at the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME – 424 Niagara Street, St., St. Catharine's (905-646-6322) on Monday, July 23, 2007 from 2- 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers to be held at 8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Immaculee Conception Church, 99 Garnet St., St. Catharines at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Cremation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Arthritis Society or the St. Catharine's General Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Mrs. Emily Mary Elizza Laney (nee Wright)
July 12, 1914 - July 21, 2007

Peacefully, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Saturday, July 21, 2007 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late William Joseph Laney. Loving mother of Ernie (Irene) Laney of Alberta, Sharon (Warren) Wickens of Wasaga Beach, Ontario and the late Sally. Dear sister of Lillian Stenabaugh of Scarborough. Loved by her 8 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Belleville Cemetery on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. for a graveside service.

Dear brother of Frances Dwyer, Vincent (Mary), Mary Goodall, Pat Fardella, and predeceased by Angela, Anthony, Samuel, Brother Frank C.R., Sr. Margaret Rose S.P. and Gerald. Beloved husband of the late Grace Frances Hickey. Loving father of Patti (David) Greer of Stirling, Timothy Hickey of Belleville, Jill (Gary) Leedale of Camlachie and Anne (Brian) Cousins of Belleville. Dear "Grumpy" of Sarah and Brett Greer, John, Rhyan and Tara Hickey of Nanaimo, B.C., John Leedale and Katie, Michael and Nicholas Cousins. Dear brother of Michael (Joan) Hickey of Kingston and the late David Hickey. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
