Mr. Larry Ross Babcock
January 20, 1940 - October 16, 2007
BABCOCK, Larry Ross
With charm, humility and show-stopping good looks, our dear Larry passed the eighteenth hole to the great putting green in the sky on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. He was husband to his Queen, Dorothy, for forty-four years, amazing father and mentor to Alexandra, Whitney, Courtney and Blair and admired father in-law to Todd, Rob, Miles and 'Muddy'. With their little personalities, Allegra and Ridley dazzled and inspired their GrandPapa. Larry was predeceased by his hero and father, Ross, is missed by his mother Win and is a deeply loved brother to Dennis & Elaine, Rick & Vicki, Shelley & Bob and their families. Larry loved nothing more than being with his family and friends and helping people through his work. He cherished the opportunity to practice law in his hometown for thirty-eight years. His many amazing accomplishments and contributions were contrasted with his humble nature and honest aversion to the spotlight. His motto, 'it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice' will always be remembered along with the many treasured quotes and inspirations that guided his actions and interactions. The family extends many thanks to the amazing friends who loved and supported Larry like family, as well as the caring staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the CCAC. A celebration of Larry's life will take place at the Maple City Golf and Country Club (10845 River Line) on Saturday, October 20th, 1-3pm. If desired, please donate a book to the Chatham Public Library or make a donation to the Larry Babcock Memorial Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the Bowman Funeral Home.
