Peacefully, after a lengthy illness with family by her side on October 16, 2007. Beloved wife of Don Salsbury. Dear mother of Denise Drinkle (Fred), Les Waters (Patty), Lynn Salsbury, Cheryl Nicholson (Rick) and Steven Salsbury (Debbie). Josephine was predeceased by one son, Bob Waters (Heather). Loving Nanny of 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Wilfred, Veronica, Bernadette, Theresa, and predeceased by Rudy, Eleanor and Johanna. Friends will be received at the MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE (21 Garrard Road, Whitby) on Friday October 19th, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 20th at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre or Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville - Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated.

DUNFORD, Thomas -- It is with great sadness after a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, October 14, 2007 in his 72nd year. Tom, beloved husband of the late Betty Dunford (1983). Tom will be lovingly remembered by his loved best friend Joan Dodsworth. Loving father of Sandra Brunelle, Terry, Mark and Judy (Tom Fice). Proud grandpa of Amanda and Tim (Fice) and Dan and Nicole (Brunelle). Great grandpa of Breanna. Dear brother of Donald, Jean, Lois and Lenore. At Tom's request, a private family Service has been held. In memory of Tom, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by his family. HAYWOOD, Audrey Lorraine -- After a valiant battle with cancer, Audrey passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 in her 63rd year. Audrey will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. IRWIN, Margaret Eileen (nee Featherstone) passed away peacefully at the Waterford Long Term Residence, Oakville on October 16, 2007, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Hubert (1988). Much loved mother and mentor of Bob (Susan) of Bracebridge, Harriette Martin of Freelton, Ray (Kate) of Waterloo, Joe (Barb) of Burlington and John (Carolyn) of Port Perry. Proud grandmother of Kevin (Christine), Mark (Melissa), Shannon, Diana (Derek), Paul (Amanda), Bryan, Marshall, Allison and Paige. Great-grandma of Tyler and Dylan. A memorial service will take place at the Glen Oaks Reception Centre, 3164 9th Line (at Dundas), Oakville, 905-257-8822 on Friday, October 19th at 3:30 p.m.

At the Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday October 17, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Beloved wife of Frank Christie. Loving mother of Lynda Everson (Gord) of Ajax, Frank Christie (Maureen) of Sarnia, and Gordon Christie (Pat) of Bayside. Loved by her grandchildren Danielle, Leanne, Shawna, Doug, Darcey, and Frank. Also loved by her 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the McEachnie Funeral Home (905 428-8488) 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 1-3 p.m. followed by service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

HIGGINS, CAROLINE HANNAH (nee BUXTON): After a long and valiant fight, on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in her 68th year, she is now at peace. Loving and loved wife of Alexander (Sandy) for 49 years, mother of son Dale (wife Kim), daughter Lorrain Hayes and grandmother of Corey Higgins, Cody Higgins, Ryan Hayes and Richele Hayes. She is also survived by a brother, Charles (Monty) Buxton of Derbyshire, England.
Caroline lived for her family and touched the lives of many others with her kindness, warmth, smile and humour, will be sadly missed by all of us, but our love for her will live on.
Caroline lived in various parts of the country for 10 years with her husband in the military until 1968 when he left the army and returned to Niagara Falls. She was employed by the Canadian Wire Weaving and Zippo Manufacturing until they closed.
At Caroline's request, cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 Highway #20, Fonthill on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
