passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Markham Stouffville Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on October 30, 1933 in Singapore. Lovingly remembered by her children, Poerwanto and his wife Maria Lim, and Catharina and her husband Hendrik Tanandar. Also missed by her grandchildren Dominic, Lucas, Emily and Justin. Family and friends will be received at HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME, Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court, (Northeast corner of 16th Ave & Hwy 404) on Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 2-6 pm. There will be a funeral mass held on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:30 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 265 Alton Towers Circle (McCowan & Steeles). Burial to follow at Christ the King cemetery, 7770 Steeles Ave E (at Reesor Rd).
Friends and family are welcome to join the family after the burial for a reception at the Star Walk International Buffet, located at 648 Silver Star Blvd (Steeles Ave & Old Kennedy Rd).

KRETZ, Norma Genevieve (O'Brien) - Suddenly at Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, October 18, 2007. Norma was the dear wife of Alois (Al) Kretz and the loved and cherished Mom of Holly (Tom) Baker and Craig Kretz. She was the most special and adored “Ammy“ to her two granddaughters Emma-Kate and Elizabeth Baker. Mom was predeceased by her parents Fred and Corinne O'Brien and her brothers John and Neil O'Brien. Mom is survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law Tony and Kitty Kretz, Margaret Kretz, John Kretz, Theresa and Hartley Fare, Bert Kretz, Frank and Betty Kretz, Agnes Fehr, Nancy Haworth and Nan O'Brien, her cousins and many nieces and nephews. Mom was blessed with wonderful friends and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was an active member of the St. Alfred's CWL and enjoyed her volunteer work at the Warehouse of Hope. The family will receive friends at PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 39 Court St. on Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm. Vigil prayers will take place in the funeral home at 3:00 pm on Sunday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines. Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Open Arms Children's Foundation would be appreciated by the family. She will be cherished and loved always~

Peacefully, with his family by his side, at the age of 74. Lazarus passed away on Thursday, October 18th, 2007 at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto.
Beloved husband of Penelope, Loving father to Mike, Betty Ellinidis and son-in-law George, Jim and daughter-in-law Deanna, George and daughter-in-law Sophie and Maria and son-in-law Adam Lorentz. Proud “Pappou“ of Zachary, Christopher, Alexander, Thomas, Andrianna, Lazarus-James, Penelope, Alexander, Olivia and Nicholas. Brother of Iakovos in Greece.

Alvin Jermine Ayotte, 83 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 18, 2007 at Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus. Beloved husband of Blanche (nee Masse) for 57 years. Loving father of Anthony Ayotte (Gerri), Clarisse Robinson (Kevin), Mary Ellen Larochelle (Onil), Diane Campeau (the late Robert Campeau), Lorraine Bouchat (Tony), Beverly Venglar (Glenn), Joanne Ayotte (Ted), and John Ayotte. Loving grandpa to Brent, Shawn, Marc, Joseph, Lisa, Heather, Kate, Sarah, Ryan, Adam and great-grandpa to Reagan, Gavin, Carly and Gracie. Alvin is survived by sisters Doris and Irma Rose and predeceased by sisters Bernice and Alexine and brothers Lawrence, Milford, Urban, Louis and Richard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alvin was retired from Windsor Utilities and Windsor Raceway following 30 years of service. Alvin was an avid euchre player and enjoyed playing Bingo. He will be truly missed. Special thanks to Dr. Rosenheck, Dr. M. Lai and the nurses at Metropolitan Hospital. Visitation will be held at the Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (519-735-2830) on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. John Vianney Church 385 Dieppe Street, Windsor on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Thom Blondin will be the celebrant. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery. In kindness memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Alvin Ayotte in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 28, 2008. All are welcome.
Mrs. Carol H. Y. Boxill

Carol H. Y. Boxill, RN, BA, LLB - Carol died peacefully on October 16, 2007 in hospital after suffering a massive stroke. Her family and some friends were in the hospital to be near her in her final moments. Carol is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tony Boxill, and her two children Bernie and Daphne Boxill, to whom she meant everything. Carol was born in Jamaica, the daughter of Llewellen and Enid Bailey both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sister Eva, but is survived by her sisters, Sibyl Bailey, Dr. Dorothy Bryant, Constance Jones, Olive, and her brothers Lloyd Bailey, Barrington Bailey, Rudyard Bailey, Llewellen Bailey and Errol Bailey. She is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces. In the early 1960s, Carol went to St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal where she trained as a nurse. After working in this field for a number of years she decided to enter the University of New Brunswick where she completed a degree in English, and then a degree in Law. She practiced law, mainly criminal, for a number of years, and then was invited to sit on the Human Rights Tribunal. After retiring from her legal practice in New Brunswick she moved with her husband to Toronto to be near her children. Her final two years may have been her happiest.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 794 Kingston Road on Saturday October 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has already taken place. Arrangements in the care of SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Trillium Gift of Life Network.

McKay, Marion "Jean" passed away peacefully on October 18, 2007 at Fairfield Manor West in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband George McKay (1990). Lovingly missed by her children Dr. Janice (Dr. Brian) McConville and John McKay of New Zealand. Cherished grandmother of John (Ellie) McConville, Catriona McConville (Mario Rumengan) and Dr. Fiona McConville (Adam Barken). Beloved great-grandmother of Blake McConville, Max and Lucy Barken. Will be sadly missed by Pat McConville and her husband Michael Jordan. At Jean's request, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held with rite of committal with prayers to follow. A memorial reception will be held at the Gordon F.
