Dear brother of Gerda Appel and Herbert and his wife Edith Fruhner, all of Germany. At Gerhard's wish, private family services will be conducted to celebrate his life. Rae is a member of the Baha'i Faith which she served in various capacities for over 30 years. DEZIEL, Claire Nadia (nee Chauvin) passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the age of 93. She is survived by her children Suzanne and husband Peter Knowlton (Ottawa), John Deziel (Belle River), Christopher Deziel (Santa Cruz, California), Michele Deziel (Boston) and Denise Deziel (Windsor). She was the last surviving of the 10 children of Donus and Nadia Chauvin and is joining her husband Judge (and Colonel of the Essex Scottish) Lawrence A. Deziel, OBE and her daughter Louise. Claire was fortunate to have eight grandchildren: Nicole and Bill Knowlton, Aimee and Sarah Deziel, Jamie Russell, Christian, Joel and Claire Poisson, and four great-grandchildren. A life-long resident of Windsor, Claire attended St. Mary's Academy and Normal School in London, Ont. She enjoyed a teaching career with both the Windsor Catholic School Board and St. Clair College, where she taught English as a Second Language. She had many interests in her life, including volunteering for Meals on Wheels and the Windsor Art Gallery. She also loved to curl, bowl and play bridge. The family is most grateful to her dear friend Annette Wilson, her caregiver Marie McKenzie, the staff of the Renal Dialysis Unit of Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital and the staff of the seventh floor for their caring support. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to the Renal Dialysis Unit of Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital or the Kidney Foundation. Family and friends will gather at the Janisse Bros-Marcotte Funeral Home 1139 Ouellette Ave. on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 4 p.m. On Saturday, October 27th, there will be further visitation at St. Anne's Catholic Church - Walkerville from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held to celebrate the life of Claire. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. A tree will be planted in memory of Claire Deziel in the Janisse-Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 28th, 2008. SANDRE, Antonio "Tony", 85 years. passed away October 25th, 2007 at Malden Park. Beloved husband of Lidia for the past 58 years. Loving father of Attilio (Til)and Terry Sandre and the late Susy Levy (2001) and former son-in-law Stephen Levy. Cherished grandfather of Nicole, Danielle, Andrea and Alexandra. Dear brother of the late Giuseppe Sandre and wife Argentina, the late Tarsillo Sandre and wife Edilia. Dear sister of Olga, Santina and Licia all of Italy. Also survived by the Fabbro Family and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Tony will be sadly missed by many neighbours and friends. He was a member of the Fogolar Furlan Club. Ian Desjardins passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 in his 55th year. Beloved son of Emilia Dyke and the late Roland Desjardins. Loving brother of Linda (Brian) Dyke. Step-brother of Stephen (Diane) Dyke. Uncle of Sean, Laurie and Jesse. We would like to thank all who helped with his care over the years. Especially his friend Barbara Oszlak who brought laughter and light into his life, his cousin Marguerite and other friends Brenda and Helen. Ian will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church (N/E corner of Ravenscroft Rd. and Rossland Rd in Ajax) on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m..
