Thelma Carmichael

CARMICHAEL, Thelma, Entered into rest at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg on Sunday December 7th, 2008 in her 86th year. Dear daughter of the late William & Lottie Hennessey. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Carmichael. Cherished Mother of Shirley Carmichael of Belleville, James (Jim) Carmichael (Patricia) of Tweed, Terry Carmichael of Belleville and Duane Carmichael (Ruby) of Foxboro. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Sean, Darcy, Ryan, Lee, Tracy, Rodney and their families. Dear sister of Claude Hennessey (Wanda) of Kitchener. Predeceased by sisters Dorcas, Hazel and Trula and by her brothers; Howard, Mack and Don. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at the BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 68 North Front Street, Belleville on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. (with visitation prior to service from 12 noon until 2:00p.m.) Rev. David Janzen officiating. Interment St. James Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.

Marion Lois Shorten

SHORTEN, Marion Lois, At Belleville General Hospital on Thursday December 11, 2008 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Rev. Lloyd Shorten for over 55 years. Daughter of the late Violet (Utman) and Joseph Daniels. She is survived by her much loved daughters Mary Ruth Begbie (Michael) and Carolyn Lough (and her close friend Ronald Globe), her adoring grandchildren Amanda & Sarah Begbie, Thomas & Warren Lough. A graduate of Belleville Collegiate, Alma College and United Church Training School. She was a Deaconess of the United Church of Canada. In partnership with her husband she worked at churches in Peterborough, Ottawa, Toronto and Belleville. A devoted much loved and respected servant of Jesus Christ, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to visit at Eastminster United Church Belleville (corner of Bridge & Herchimer) from 10-11:00 a.m. on Monday December 15, 2008. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the spring at Foxboro Cemetery. Memorial donations to Eastminster Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Dorothy Mary Trimm

TRIMM, Dorothy Mary, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, December 8th, 2008 at the Kingston General Hospital. Formerly of Verdun was then transferred to Belleville in 1947 where she later joined Northern Telecom "Nortel" for over 38 years. Beloved wife & friend to AJ (Tony) Trimm. Loving Mother of Robert Trimm (Sherry-Lynn). Predeceased by her brother Bob (Mary). Survived by sisters Alice Masson, Pat Baverstock of Belleville & Reginald (Grace) of Montreal. Loving and devoted Nanny to Danielle & Ashley. Predeceased by her parents Robert & Nora Baverstock. Sadly missed by long time friends Verna Hosker, Andrea Colbourne, Carol Hamilton & Audrey King. Predeceased late husband Raymond Nolan. Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews & friends. Friends are invited to attend visitation at the BURKE FUNERAL HOME, 150 Church St., Belleville on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated in our Chapel on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment in Belleville Cemetery at a later date. If family and friends so desire donations to Kidney Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Victorian Order of Nurses & The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Cedric Arthur (Robbie) Robson

ROBSON, Cedric Arthur (Robbie), Peacefully with family at his side on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in his 96th year. Loving husband and friend of Irma Irene Robson for seventy years. Dear father of Karl (Florence) of Toronto and Jane (Steve) of Belleville. Dear grandfather of Mark (Grace), Rebecca, Tara (Jeff) and Adam Robson, and Sarah and Stephanie Wise. Great grandfather of Owen and Lucas Robson. Special friend of Steve Parks. A private burial was held on Monday, June 22 at the Union Cemetery in Apsley. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A special thank you to the nurses, personal support workers and staff on the Palliative Care Floor of Quinte Gardens for allowing Robbie to be peaceful and comfortable during his final days. With grateful thanks to God for a life well lived.

NELSON, Ross Michael, (Retired O.P.P.), Entered into rest at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 20, 2009. Ross Nelson of RR#3 Frankford in his 63rd year. Son of the Late Cardwell and Hazel Nelson. Beloved husband of the Late Patricia Ann Nelson (nee: McElwain). Loving father of Leanne Eggleton of Stirling and Warren Nelson of Brighton. Ever remembered by grandchildren Jamie and Holly Eggleton and Ryan and Nick Nelson. Dear brother of John Nelson and wife Sue of Caledon and Cardy Nelson and wife Sandra of Weston. Ever remembered by his loving partner Suzanne Ferguson. Friends are invited to call at the STIRLING FUNERAL CHAPEL, 87 James St., Stirling on Wednesday June 24 from 1:00 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Nancy Beale officiating. Cremation. If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

DELINE, Glenn Allan, Entered into rest on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Belleville General Hospital in his 75th year. Son of the late William and Marion Deline. Beloved husband of Alice Deline. Loving father of Timothy Deline (Patricia) of Belleville and Jennifer Lavery (Andre) of Belleville. Predeceased by son Mark Deline. Loved by his granddaughter Taylor Deline. At Mr. Deline's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation to take place. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the BURKE FUNERAL HOME, 150 Church St., Belleville. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

BLAKELY, Woodrow, Suddenly, surrounded by his family at his home in Picton, on Thursday, June 18th, 2009, Woodrow Blakely, Veteran of WWII, former Teacher at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Virginia. Loved father of Linda and her husband Larry Boyce of Wellington, Jim and his wife Cathy of Picton and the late Gordon. Dear brother of the late Clealan, Jack, Willis and Robert. Loved grandfather of Greg, Natasha, Gavin, Briar, Lucas, Marni, Jamie, Michael, Ryan, Alyssa and their families. Mr. Blakely is resting at the WHATTAM FUNERAL HOME, 33 Main Street, Picton, ON. The Funeral Service will be held at The Picton United Church on Monday, June 22nd at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. Hal Wilson Officiating. If desired, donations to the Picton United Church would be appreciated by the family.
