Mary Catherine (Mae) Petrie, 100, who will be sadly and lovingly missed, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, in London, Ont.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Daniel Petrie; son, Daniel (Bud) Petrie; daughters, Pauline, Carmella (Sis) King; sisters, Annie Tracey, Mary Briggs and a brother, Murdock MacKenzie.
Dear mother of Elizabeth (Mrs. Alex Brushett), Whycocomagh, N.S. and Evelyn (Mrs. Aubrey Clements), Glace Bay, N.S. Dear grandmother of Lorna (Mrs. Andrew Yorke), London, Ont., with whom she resided for the past several years; grandchildren, Edith, Audrey, Danny, Charlie, Nelson, Cathy, Kim, Susan, Wendy, Debbie and Ricky. Great-grandmother of 20; great-great-grandmother of six. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place in London, Ont. Burial to follow in Glace Bay, N.S.

Olive Rose McPherson (nee Barron), formerly of Ingonish Harbour, after a lengthy illness on Friday, Aug. 25, 2000.
Beloved wife of Russell McPherson. Loving mother of Sharon, David, and Lawrence (Bridget Girard). Devoted grandmother of Tyler and Veronica. Olive is survived by her sister Helen and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Albert, Isaac, Ronald, Francis, and Andrew.
Friends called at the North York Funeral Center, 6026 Young Street (3 blocks north of Finch) on Sunday, Aug. 27, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. Cremation.
The family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Everett Johnston

Everett Johnston, born at Sydney, N.S., on Nov. 22, 1919, son of the late Donald John and Annie (Morrison) Johnston, passed away at Etobicoke, Ont. on Saturday, May 27, 2000.
He was a veteran having served in the Second World War.
Beloved husband for 54 years of Gwen, dear father of Audrey and her husband, Ray Whittem, Everett and his wife Corinne, and Jay (John). Loving grandfather of three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Beloved brother of Margaret Sedgwick, Pearl Richardson and Donald Johnston.
Predeceased by sisters, Irene Johnston and Helen Morrison.
Funeral service was held at Billingsley Funeral Home, Huntsville, Ont., Tuesday, May 30.

Mary Anne (Carew) Murphy, 77, of 105 Belvedere Ave., Hamilton, Ontario, formerly of Railroad St., Sydney, NS passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2000, surrounded by her children.
She was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Carew) and wife of 48 years to John (Jack) Murphy.
She is survived by sons, Ned (Betty), Doug, Joe (Linda), Ernie (Darlene), Greg (Linda), Roy (Betty), Pat and Glenn of Hamilton; daughters, Noreen Wall, Dartmouth, Joanne MacAskill (Junior), Jacquelyn Smith (Dean), Sylvia Smith (Danny), Hamilton; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Hareguy and Dorothy Margettie of Sydney, NS.
A life-time auxiliary member of Br. #128 Royal Canadian Legion, Whitney Pier.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Jack, a son Earl in 1982, a son Michael and daughter Donna in infancy, a grandson Dennis Wall and a brother Bernie Carew.
Funeral to be held in Hamilton. Memorial mass to be held at Holy Redeemer at a later date.

Gary Edward Barron died in hospital in Ontario on Monday, June 12, 2000.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mary Bellingham and the late Ernest Barron.
Besides his mother, he is survived by brothers, Arnold, Ernie and Kenny, all of Sydney; and sisters, Colleen and Corinne, of Sydney, and Kathleen, Ontario.
He was predeceased by a sister, Neva Stone.
Cremation will take place in Ontario.

passed away at Peel Memorial Hospital, Brampton, Ont., on Tuesday, June 13, 2000, Rose Marie Axworthy in her 65th year; beloved wife of Ronald Brewer, Orangeville; dear daughter of Jean Axworthy and the late Daniel Axworthy; loved mother of Ronald Jr. and his wife, Darlene, Orangeville and Daniel Earl and his wife Dale, Brampton; dear grandmother of Taralee Marie, Matthew, Michael, Ashley, Scotty, Daniel Jr. and Angel; also sadly missed by her brothers, John, Michael and sisters, Lillian and Madonna.
Friends may call at the Dods and McNair Funeral Home and Chapel, 21 First St., Orangeville, where family received friends Thursday. Funeral service will be held in the chapel today (Friday), June 16, 2000, at 11 a.m.
