Suddenly, at the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, December 19, 2000. Campbell A. Pearce of St. Thomas, Ont. and formerly of Sydney, Nova Scotia in his 76th year.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on June 6, 1925, to the late James and Margaret (Campbell) Pearce. Beloved husband and best friend for 53 years to Sylvia (Rossiter) Pearce. Dearly loved father of Pamela Cook and her husband Chuck of St. Thomas and Margaret Marr and her husband Kevin of Tillsonburg. Dear brother of Jean Cumming and her husband Hugh ‘Sonny’ of Warrington, England. Also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pearce served in the British Merchant Navy during the Second World War and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association, London Branch. He also served for more than 20 years with the Whitney Pier Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, St. Thomas.
A public funeral and committal service will be conducted at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Friday at 11 a.m. Friends will be received prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Interment in EImdale Memorial Park, St Thomas.
Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Lorraine Joyce Lucille (Taylor) Rodriquez, RN, (formerly of Glace Bay) lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at the home of her parents, St. Catharines, Ontario, with her family by her side, in her 54th year.
She is survived by her husband, Rod; son, John; daughter, Catherine (Stuart), her Mom and Dad, Sadie and Doug and special grandmother, Fanny; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Sierra, two stepchildren, Rachel and Rebecca (from Texas); three step-grandchildren, Erik, Lesa and Gabriella. Brothers, Ken (Barb), Jerry (Leeanne), Bobby (Tracey) and sister Paula (Cam). Numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Prior to her illness, Lorraine worked in Texas, doing what she loved best, nursing. Special thanks to Aunt Pearl and cousin Mary Lou.
Cremation and services have taken place in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Memorial remembrances to the Palliative Care Unit at Hotel Dieu Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Nellie Beatrice MacDonald passed away peacefully, after a long illness, at Toronto General Hospital on Saturday, Dec., 23, 2000, at the age of 77.
Lovingly remembered by her children in Toronto, Ont., Yvonne Whitehead, Howie MacDonald and his wife Geneva, Rita MacDonald, and George MacDonald. Beloved grandmother of Matthew and Joshua Whitehead, and Neil and Jennifer MacDonald. Dear great-grandmother of Shannel. Also missed by her brother, Reg Colbourne, and her sister, Brigitte Dyer, both of Sydney, N.S., and her sister Margaret Pierre, of New Glasgow, N.S.

Charlene (Sudds) Geoffredo of Guelph, Ont., formerly of Sydney, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Guelph, after a lengthy illness of multiple sclerosis.
Born in Montreal in 1946 to Charles and Virginia (MacDonald) Sudds.
Charlene leaves behind to mourn her, husband, Mikey, two daughters, Marie and Heather, St. John, and two grandchildren.
Charlene was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Mary Jane Lively and Hubert and Isabella Sudds.
Funeral mass was held in Guelph, Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Predeceased by her husband Vernon H. Atkinson in 1966.
Daughter of the late John and Eliza Alexander.
Beloved mother of Douglas A. Atkinson (Diane) and Cheryl M. Stanton and dear grandmother of Geoffrey, David and Katherine Atkinson and Tara and Ashley Stanton. Dear sister of Isabelle McClure, Margaret McClure, Jessie Kiernan, and brothers, John, William, Craig, Douglas and Stuart Alexander. Also survived by sister-in-law, Thelma Atkinson.
Predeceased by her brother, Robert in 1990.
Mary was a former member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Sydney, N.S.

David Lawrence Sheppard

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Sheppard of Sault Ste. Marie, Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Victoria, he was the son of John Sheppard and the late Elsie Sheppard. David moved to Ontario in his early years but enjoyed visiting ‘back home’ on a frequent basis. David’s heart will always remain in Cape Breton as he was a true ‘Caper’. David had a passion for the outdoors as fishing and hunting were his hobbies of choice. When visiting ‘home,’ David would enjoy spending his time laughing and being entertained with his grandnieces and nephews. ‘Uncle’ will be missed. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Pat; sister, Lorraine (Roger) Guyaux, New Victoria; and brother, Vince (Marilla) Sheppard, New Waterford. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl and brother, Brad. Visitation for the late David Sheppard will be held at the Northwood Funeral Home, Sault Ste. Marie, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003. Funeral mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

John beloved husband of Doreen. Loving father of Gail, Cheryl Ann, John, Deanna and Steven. Cherished grandfather of Kimberly.
