Darien Kaufman

KAUFMAN – On Friday, January 9, 2009, Darien Peter Stanley Kaufman was born and passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, London. Dearly loved son of Brandon and Cassandra Kaufman (Cunningham) of Woodstock. Brother of Riley Jane. Grandson of Kelly and Ron Boudreau of Woodstock, John and Catherine Cunningham of Thamesford, and Kathryn Kaufman of Desboro. Great grandson of Stan and Ruth Kaufman of Desboro. Nephew of Josh Cunningham and Sarah Houghton, Tim Boudreau and Jaydaline Kaufman. A private family service was held. If desired, memorial donations to the Children’s Health Foundation – Genetics Program, would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, (519) 537-3611.

Booth, Gordon
1924-2008

Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton on Wednesday July 2, 2008. Born in Oldham, Lancashire on June 5, 1924. Beloved husband of Herta. Dear father of Sonja (Jim), Jason (Chris), Leslie (Shauna), Jennifer (Joachim), and Christopher (Meagan). Loving Opa of Kristina (Adam), Justin, Cameron, Adam, Ambrose, Sebastian, Georgia and Adrian. Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Beatrice and his sister Yvonne. Gordon was a W.W. II Veteran serving as a sapper with the British Royal Engineers, landing in France two days after D-Day, serving also with the Canadian Forces from 1942-1947. While in Germany, he met his future wife Herta. They immigrated to Canada via England in 1951. Gordon will be remembered as a gentle, soft spoken man with a sharp, dry sense of humour. He was happiest tinkering with his car or home, or simply enjoying time with his family. Special thanks to the staff on Ward 3 East at St. Peter’s Hospital. A Graveside Service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street West, on Friday July 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON (905.527.0405).

Freda Baker
December 5, 1921 - January 6, 2009

BAKER - Peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, Freda Baker (nee Whadcoat) in her 88th year. Beloved wife and partner of Russell Baker (1981) and Sid Hemmings (2001). Loving Mother of Karen (Ross) Hazelwood (Huska) and Bonnie (Ted) Bacigalupo. Loving Grandmother of Fred (Sherry) and Paul Huska and Melanie (Jamie) McCallan, Randy and Jeremy Bacigalupo and Rochelle (Nicholas) Osenton. Great grandmother to Nathan and Myles. Loving sister of Audrey Lightbody and her children Susan, Tom (Sandra) and John Lightbody. Special aunt to Don (Gerry), Helen (Henk), Dianne (Ev) and Larry (Karen). A special thanks to all Mom’s friends and family who were able to help in her later years, which allowed her to stay in her home as she wished. A private Memorial will be held at a future date.

Marion Brock
April 3, 1937 to October 12, 2007

BROCK, MARION ROSE - Surrounded by family with love and humour at Victoria Hospital, London, on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the age of 70. Beloved wife of Bruce Brock. Marion is survived by her children Mike Brock, Lori (Dwayne) Black, Paul Brock and Leanne (Randy) Haddon. She will be sadly missed by her thirteen grandchildren Kyle, David, Dylan and Kevin (Brock), Jake, Josh, Jim and Jordan (Black), Sawyer and Chase (Brock), and Tyler, Sarah, MacGregor (Haddon). Dear sister of Olga (Bill) Howchuk and brothers Frank (Eva) Petronski and Eddie (Pat) Petronski. Predeceased by a brother Stanley Petronski. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, 102 N. Victoria Street, on Wednesday, October 17 th. at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Parkinson Foundation or the Charity of Choice (Cheques only please.)
A special thanks to all the staff at the London Health Sciences - Victoria Hospital for their compassion and excellent care over the past weeks.

(Todd) Raymond Doyle
1970-12-03 to 2008-01-17

DOYLE, (TODD) RAYMOND JACKSON - passed away suddenly with his family and dear friend and love of his life, Tara Butler at his side. Survived by his parents Peter and Judy Doyle, loving brothers Mark and his spouse Kathy and nephews Alex and Ryan; David and his spouse Tracy and nephew Nicholus and nieces Amanda, Andrea and Amber all of Sarnia. Todd had a zest for life and packed a lot into his 37 years on this earth. He loved to play sports and travel the outdoors. He was part of an Ontario Midget Hockey Championship Team from Sarnia. He loved to golf and mountain bike with his dogs Bronx and Nohla who traveled with him to stops in Calgary and Nanaimo. Todd was a warm caring son who wore his emotions on his sleeve. He came home to Sarnia in May, 2006 to become involved in a local business. In May 2007, his life was interrupted with the word Leukemia. He stood strong and his family there for support. We love you Todd.d.d always, our handsome man. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21st. A reception to follow at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Davis, Charles Roberts (Bob)
Retired Letter Carrier, Canada Post Corp

Peacefully, on October 10, 2012, after a brave fight with cancer, Bob passed away at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, Ontario. Beloved husband and best friend of Sandy. Dear father to Julie (Steve) and Jennifer. Proud grandfather to Keesie, Arianna, Arrin, Nathan, Cali, Faith and Braden. Great grandfather to baby Charlotte. Dear brother of Margaret and Walter and the late Ernest.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Army Navy and Air Force Club, 7 George St, Barrie, Ontario on Sunday October 21, 2012 at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend to remember Bob. If desired, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe or Gilda’s Club, Barrie, Ontario in Bob’s memory.

Bernice Lowes
March 12, 1917 - January 26, 2009

LOWES – Dorothy Bernice. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Bernice, born March 12, 1917 in Sarnia, Ontario, and died peacefully, holding the hands of her children, on Monday, January 26, 2009 at Woodstock General Hospital. Loving mother of Bev Lowes and Eleanor Doyle (Eugene), all of Woodstock. Devoted grandmother of Pamela Carleton (Greg), Paul Lowes (Mary Katherine), Tim Lowes, Debra Jeffery (Ron), David Doyle (Sherri), Darcy Doyle (Joyce) and Daren Doyle. Bernice also leaves sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Predeceased by her husband Lorne Lowes (1948), parents Roy Post (1938) and Olive Post (1978), and brother Nelson Post (2008). Friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Saturday, January 31, 2009, from 10:00 to 11:00 am for a memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Cremation followed by interment later at Beachville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Oxford would be appreciated. Smith-LeRoy, (519) 537-3611.

Dorothy Wighton
October 20, 1927 to January 23, 2008

WIGHTON, DOROTHY MAY (SKERRATT) - At her residence on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, DOROTHY MAY (SKERRATT) WIGHTON, age 80, of Sarnia, loving mother of John Wighton and his wife Lynda, Heather Janson and her husband Doug, Laurie Wighton and Mary Genovy and her husband Mike and six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sister of Kay Robertson and her husband Tom of Hamilton, Marjorie Mitchell and John Skerratt and his wife Lillian. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by a sister Barbara Bulgin. Dorothy was a member of the 403 Wingetts, St. Andrew’s Seniors and St. Paul’s United Church Choir. She was an avid fan of the Sarnia Sting and Toronto Blue Jays. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place in the Chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, January 26th at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. There will be a 403 Wing service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the charity of choice (Cheques only please).
