It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Joseph Gosselin of Barrie, Ontario on November 18, 2013.
Cherished spouse of Joan. Loving son of Fernand and Rosa Gosselin, brother to Lisa Gosselin, proud father to Jerrod and Josh, and Nono to Ava Grace
A Celebration of Rob's Life will be held on Thursday November 21, 2013 at the Southshore Community Centre, 205 Lakeshore Drive, Barrie, ON L4N 7Y9 5:30 p.m. Service at 6:00 p.m with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob's honour to the Barrie and District Christmas Cheer campaign would be appreciated. Toys or donations will be accepted at the Celebration of Life or online at www.christmascheerbarrie.com
KNECHTEL, Donald James
May 18, 1933 – November 17, 2013 ~
passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie at the age of 80. Formerly of Port Dover, Ontario born in Listowel, Ontario.
Son of the late Elva and Clifford Knechtel. With great sadness Don will be missed by his wife Alice of 58 years, daughter Robin (Tom) Strachan of Barrie, sons Todd (Patti) of Delhi, and Kent (Janet) of Aylmer.
Loving grandfather of Jenohn (Michael), Melanie (Francois), Troy, Tyler, Jessica, and Nick. Also survived by his great grandchildren Anjelica, Alexia, Aidan, Sophia, and Olivier. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, and many close friends especially Johnny and Greg. As per Dons wishes a private service will be held as cremation has taken place. Murray, Gordon
Gordon passed suddenly in his 57th year on November 2, 2013 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Loved dearly by brother Doug (Donna) and sister Maureen. Predeceased by his father Douglas Murray, mother Elizabeth Stewart and sister Kate. Will be missed by nieces Kim, Kelly, Patti and Shannon and nephews Ben Jr., Chris, and Chuck and many more great nieces and nephews. Leaving behind best friends Chuck, Milly, John and Frank.
Private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be taking place on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 2-4 PM at Sheba Shrine in the Lower Lounge (142 John St., Barrie).

At Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, RETA IRENE (ZAVITZ) McKAY, age 93, beloved wife of the late Archibald McKay (1993). Mother of Leroy and Stella McKay of Brights Grove and Florence and Roy Elliott of Petrolia. Grandmother of Brian and Michelle McKay of Brights Grove, Sharon and Andrew Butt of Sarnia and Kenneth and Karen Elliott of Petrolia and great grandmother of Samantha and Logan McKay, and Piper Joy Elliott. Sister of Orville Zavitz of Woodstock and Bill McEwen of Essex. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth (Smith) and Norman Zavitz, sisters Flossie Laker and her husband George, Pearl Zavitz and Mary McEwen, brother Gordon Zavitz and his wife Mary and sister in law Gladys (McEwen) Zavitz. Also predeceased by in laws Jane and Howard Sands, Annie and Will Rose, Marybelle and Norman Smith, Florence and Fred Giffel and Margaret McKay and brother in law baby David McKay. Reta was a member of Burns United Church of Moore Township and an adherent of St. Paul’s United Church, Sarnia. She was a very active adherent of St. Paul’s United Church in the Women’s Valley Unit. Being an accomplished sewer, for many years she held the office of sewing convener and special projects and always worked year round on these projects. Church work and her family were very special to her. One of her hobbies was growing special violets and at one time she had over 200 different varieties of violets. Funeral services will be held from ST. PAUL’S UNITED CHURCH , 360 Devine Street, Sarnia, on Tuesday, July 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, 102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia, on Monday afternoon and evening from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sympathy may be made through donations to the Heart and Stroke

passed away peacefully at her home in Barrie on Saturday October 26, 2013. Beloved wife of Gordie Zinkie. Loving mother of Gordon Zinkie and Michael Zinkie. Proud grandmother of Brennan, Mikayla, Jersey and Oakley. Dear sister of Elaine Haggart and brother Edward Preston. Greatly missed by her nieces and closest friends.

Thompson, William Cornett
William Cornett Thompson in his 88th year, passed suddenly at his home on October 18, 2013 in Toronto. Bill (Slim) born to the late Arthur & Violet, brother to the late Margaret (Spiers), grew up in Toronto where he met his wife of 44 years, the late Stella, (Kohut). Together they raised 6 children, he’s predeceased by his eldest 2 daughters, Linda, & Patricia. He is remembered by his children Brenda (Leon) Pierhal, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, USA , William John Thompson, Barrie, Marsha (Sheldon) Hickey, Victoria B.C., Laurie-Ann (Paul) Trombley, Oro Station.
Proud Grandfather to Christopher Thompson, Alliston, Samantha McCullough, Edmonton, AB, Robert (Sarah) McCullough, Surrey B.C, Tabitha & Stephanie Trombley, Oro Station.

At Bluewater Health -Mitton Site on Sunday, June 24, 2007, MARIE ALMA (LaFOND) GAWDUNYK, age 76, of Sarnia, beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Gawdunyk and dear mother of Judy Carlson and her husband Dr. Kurt of Fallon, Nevada and Gary Gawdunyk of Sarnia. Dear sister of Ronald LaFond of Sarnia. Also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by two brothers and eight sisters, Mrs. Gawdunyk was born at Kapuskasing and had resided in Sarnia for the past 67 years. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME.
