BULMER, Archibald “Archie” of Lakefield formerly of Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
WWII Veteran

passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Wednesday July 11, 2012. Archie Balmer of R.R. #2 Lakefield in his 92nd year. Archie was a veteran of WWII, having served overseas with the Royal Scot Greys, “C’ Squadron, 3rd troop, a cavalry regiment. In 1941, Archie was captured and for the next four years he was a prisoner of war until 1945. After he returned home, Archie moved to Pennsylvania, U.S.A. before he and Sadie moved to Lakefield in 1964 where they made their home. Archie was the loving husband of the late Sarah “Sadie” (nee Collington) (2004). Survived and missed by his step-son Jack McEwan (Caroline), step-daughter Helen Muir (Ian), his nephew George (Evelyn) and niece Aileen. Also missed by his dear friends Sherry & Bill Webster and family, Chris & Dean Payne and Terry Foster & Mike Schizkoske. Predeceased by his sisters Mary, Jenny and Maggie and his brothers Willie and Alex. Cremation has taken place. A R.C.L. Branch #77, Lakefield memorial service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Archie’s Life. Ryall, Jean L. (nee Grenville)

Peacefully on July 12, 2012 at 86 years of age. Loving wife of the late Edison (2010). Cherished mother of Sandra Ryall, Pearl and husband David Giuliano. Dear daughter of the late Charles and wife Annie Grenville. Treasured grandmother of Jeremiah and Naomi Giuliano. Dearest sister the late Fraser and Win Grenville and the late Warden and Chrissie Grenville. Aunt of Marilyn (Grenville) and Roy Madill. Sister-in-law of Etoile and the late Orville Zavitz, the late Darius Ryall, the late Albert, survived by wife Lois Ryall, the late Claire and Dan Bryan, the late Evelyn and Marv Orr, Jean and the late Bob Watson, Emerson and wife Lita Ryall. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was a member of Glenwood United Church were she served as a Trustee and lifetime member of the United Church Women. The family would appreciate donations to the Downtown Mission, The Lung Association or Glenwood United Church. Cremation services have been held. HANER, James Douglas (Doug) 74, died Thursday afternoon after a long struggle with frontal lobe dementia. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Georgi; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Amy; daughter and son-in-law, Dilys and Sean; grandsons, Rhys and Caerwyn; brother and sister, Doug and Rena; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Thank you to Dr. Woodland and the Ward 2 staff at Albright Manor for making his final days comfortable and peaceful. Visitation Sunday, July 15 at 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Tallman Funeral Home, 4998 King St., Beamsville. Funeral Monday, July 16 at 11am at Beamsville Church of Christ. Please dress casually for Doug. YURKE, Helen Mary (nee Ponic), 88 years, of Comber, peacefully on July 13, 2012. Beloved wife of the late John Yurke (2002). Loving mother of David of Comber, Dennis (Carmen) of Tilbury, Douglas of Sarnia, Daniel (Susan) of Comber, and Dee Ann of Comber. Treasured grandmother of Shannon (Paul) Hurst, Dustin, Nicholas, and Dylan, and great niece Kiana. Thrilled great grandmother of Everett and Angeles. Dearest sister of Mary Sova (Don 1999) and sister-in-law of Anne (Leo) Chmura of Burlington. Predeceased by parents Fred and Anna Ponic and older brother Fred (2003) (Ursula 2008) of Stoney Point. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Helen worked with John to establish Yurke Sales and Service Ltd. 60 years ago. Proud to have worked at and retire from the Comber Post Office, Helen loved playing baseball, gardening, and enjoying her grand kids. She delighted the children of Comber for 60 years with her chocolate Hallowe’en cookies. Sincere appreciation is extended to Dr. Ray Anderson, the staffs of Tilbury Manor, Chatham Emergency, Victoria Hospital, and Leamington Hospital for their kind, dedicated and respectful care. Visitation at from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at McDowell Cemetery, Comber. BREWER, Clayton “Clay” passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2012 at the age of 30 years. Loving and cherished father of Riley. Cherished son of James and Wanda Brewer. Dearest brother of Wes Brewer and the late Kelly Ann (1975). Dear uncle of Angel and Sean Gadd. Clayton will be sadly missed by many family members and good friends. Wells, Velda of St. Thomas, passed away on Friday, July 13th, 2012, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, peacefully, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Alex Wells (1974) and dearly loved mother of Hughie and his wife Valerie Wells, Kay and her husband Ron Simpson and Karen Wells all of St. Thomas and the late Dorane Annett (1992). And her beloved Terrier “Boo Boo”. Dear sister of Chuck Williams of Saskatoon and Finley and his wife Jean Williams of St. Thomas. Predeceased by a brother George (late Stella) and a sister-in-law Stella Williams. Loved grandmother of Tracy and Paul Simpson, Phil Zellman Jr., John Millmine (Michelle) and Brian Wells and great grandmother of Kayla and Karisa, P.J. , Hannah, Britteny, Shelbee and Keavan and great, great grandmother of Leighton. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Vera Taylor. Velda was born in Botwood, Newfoundland on December 19th, 1928, the daughter of the late Martin and Annie (Paton) Williams. Velda was retired from Gould. She was a member of Central United Church.
A public memorial service to celebrate Velda’s life will be held at Elmdale Cemetery, St. Thomas on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Central United Church. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas.

Loved father of Tom (Christy) and Irene (Kelly) of Beaverton. Loved grandpa of Aaliyah, Wesley, Harley, Jacob, Wynter and Zackary. Dear brother of David of Orillia, Marilynne (Ted) Tufts of Coboconk, Faye (late Harry) Mitchell of Kirkfield and predeceased by Doug of Fergus. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Margaret (Scott) Clayton and his stepmother Hannah (Armstrong) Clayton. Lamoure, Wayne Clarence at London Health Science Centre-University Hospital on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Theresa Marie Lamoure. Dear father of Joel Lamoure and wife Susan of Aylmer and Matthew Lamoure of Aylmer. Loving Papa of Lindsay and Jocelyn. Brother of Wanda Smithers (Fred), Brenda Robbins (Allan), Bryon Lamoure (Kathy), Bev Priddle, Tammy Stobba (Ted). Brother-in-law to Barbara Payne (Arden), Shirley Lynn Dawely (Nathan), Joe Schnekenburger (Cheryl), Ruth Canning, Gail Anastassakis (Chris) and Darcy Pearson. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Tillsonburg on February 13, 1948 son of the late Norman and Dorothy (Carruthers) Lamoure. Wayne retired as Deputy Chief of the Aylmer Police after 28 years of service. He resumed active duty with the Elgin OPP. Wayne was a member of the Air Cadets Squadron 741, the Ontario Assoc. of Chiefs of Police, the Michigan/Ontario Identification Assoc., Col. Talbot Branch #81 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a volunteer at Chateau Gardens and at Peacekeeper Park Lake Whittaker. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 1:30 pm. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. CLUBB, Elsie May (Young) – Age 83 of Sarnia, formerly of Brigden, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia. Beloved wife of Peter Clubb for 65 years. Loving mother of Larry (Barb) Clubb, Gail (Ed) Branson, Ross (Lindy) Whiting, Tom (Brenda) Clubb and Wendy (Phil) Ross. Cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Beatrice Payne, Doreen (Robert) Lambert, Muriel (Tom) Walker and Robert Young. Sister-in-law of Ken Arnold, Harriett McKellar, Eileen Young, Marlene Young, Anna Young, Josephine Clubb, Lois Clubb and Dianne Dennis. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friends Joe and Elsie McGill and Stella Strand. Predeceased by her daughter Judy Whiting and several brothers and sisters.
