Edward Gerrie
August 13, 1925 - December 21, 2008

GERRIE – Peacefully, at Woodstock General Hospital with his loving wife at his side on Sunday, December 21, 2008, Edward Allan Gerrie of Woodstock in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Fern Leona Gerrie (nee Caswell) for 62 years. Son of the late John and Mary Gerrie and son-in-law of the late Wilbert and Cora Caswell. Brother of Annie Timmons of Calgary and Doreen Gilbertson of Swift Current, Saskatchewan and brother-in-law of Anna Mason of Woodstock, Corinne James of Dorchester, Alan Caswell of Burgessville, and Marjorie Kivell of Dorchester. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by 12 siblings and 20 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:30 pm with Rev. David Duncan officiating. Private interment at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care or the Auxiliary to Woodstock General Hospital would be appreciated. Smith-LeRoy, (519) 537-3611.

Robert Isaac
1954-10-23 to 2007-11-04

On Sunday, November 4, 2007, ROBERT GORDON ISAAC, age 53, of Sarnia, passed away. Survived by his wife Brenda and proud father of Chris and his wife Shay, Josh and his wife Tanya, Daniel, Jordan, precious daughter Lauralee. Loving grandfather of Ethan, MacKenzie, Lana and Taylor and Logan. Also survived by his parents June and Gord Isaac, brothers Doug and Steven and sister Laurie and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia, on Thursday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Salvation Army (Cheques only please.) With great sadness, we mark the passing of MARY ELLEN GARTSHORE. Beloved wife of Tony, cherished mother of John, Ron, Richard, Jeffrey, Stephen and their families, lifetime member of the UCW, longtime secretary at St. Joseph’s Hospital - Health Department , children’s story teller, and talented singer in many choirs and productions. This gracious, kind and gentle woman touched many lives and will be warmly remembered. Friends may call at D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, 102 Victoria St. N., Sarnia, for visitation on Wednesday, November 14, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy celebrating her life will take place at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church (Lansdowne and Athlone), Thursday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. Donations to: St. James the Apostle Church, The Primate’s World Relief Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

At Bluewater Health - Mitton Site on Thursday, December 13, 2007, SANDRA DIANE (PASCO) ARMSTRONG, age 64, of Sarnia, dear mother of Kristine Armstrong and Linda Lavoie and her husband Steven all of Sarnia and Kathleen Armstrong of Oshawa. Loving Nonna of Ryan, Kristopher, Kassondrah, Steven, Darren, Jennifer, Lisa-Marie and Amanda. Dear sister of Carolyn Gray of Hamilton and Rosalie Pankoff and her husband Harry of St. Catharines. Also survived by a special friend Shelly Broad and her husband Keith and several nieces and nephews. Born at Niagara Falls, Mrs. Armstrong had resided in the Sarnia area for the past 40 years. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Monday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit of Bluewater Health (cheques only please).

PREECE, MARGUERITE “BERNICE” (CLEMENTS) - At Trillium Villa Nursing Home on Monday, January 14, 2008, MARGUERITE “BERNICE” (CLEMENTS) PREECE, age 89, of Sarnia, dear wife of the late William George Preece (1991). Dear mother of Lorene Oakes and her husband Dale and LaVerne Preece and his wife Twila all of Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Debra Jones and her husband Glynne of Sarnia, Dawn Gark and her husband Gordon of Sarnia, Danita Gallagher and her husband Jim of Hamilton, David Oakes and his wife Heather of Sarnia, Master Seaman Susan Preece of Halifax, Master Corporal Brian Preece and his wife Rita of Greenwood, Nova Scotia and Randy Preece and his wife Vikki of Hamilton. Great grandmother of Sara Jones, Michelle Oakes, Kyle Oakes, William Gark, Rebecca Gark, Robert (Bobby) Gark, Julene Preece, Catherine Preece, Grant Preece and Amanda Preece and great great grandmother of Alyssa Jones. Also survived by brothers Clyde Clements and his wife Evelyn of Petrolia, Lloyd Clements and his wife Marion of Peterborough and sister Betty Hohol of Sarnia and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Thomas (1965) and Margaret (1966) Clements of Inwood, brother Eugene Clements (1958) and sisters Irene Pavey (1980) and Phyllis Hodgson (2003) all of Alvinston. Funeral and committal services will be held from the Chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, January 17th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow later at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family (Cheques only please).

Ernie Kleinschroth
January 22, 1920 - December 7, 2008

KLEINSCHROTH – Ernie Kleinschroth passed away peacefully after a long illness at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock on Sunday, December 7, 2008 in his 89th year. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife and best friend Evelyn (nee Chiasson), his sister-in-law Mary Kleinschroth, son Wayne Kleinschroth (Glenda), and daughter Brenda Curtis (Wayne). Loved Papa of grandchildren Russell Curtis (Kelly), Janice Yerxa (Barry), Tina Walsh, Randy Klein (Amanda), and Anne Marie Lee (Kevin), and great grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Meagan, Haley, Annika, Micah, and Tabitha. Ernie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and the Royal Canadian Legion. A World War II War Amp, Ernie lost his left leg in England in 1944. He served as President and Director for a number of years for the Western Ontario Branch of The War Amps, and also was involved with the CHAMP Program. He worked as a laboratory technician at the Oxford Regional Centre for 35 years. Ernie loved his family and enjoyed being with them. He was an avid reader and liked to travel, fish and do crossword puzzles. We will dearly miss him. Friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a funeral service in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment later at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Malcolm Parr
November 17, 1934 - December 28, 2009

PARR – Peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital on Monday, December 28, 2009, Malcolm Charles Parr of Woodstock. Born in 1934 in Nottingham, England, Malcolm is the son of the late Arthur and Helen Parr. Beloved husband of Patricia Ann Parr. Dear father of Stephen B. Parr (Kimberly) and step-grandfather of Logan and Tanner. Malcolm will also be remembered by his favourite niece Susan Montgomery (Evan) and her children Kayleigh, Corey and Aiden; his sister Eunice Lawson (John) and daughter Dominique; and many more nieces and nephews. Malcolm served with distinction in the RAF from 1954 to 1957 and then immigrated to Canada in May, 1960. He retired from Public Service and enjoyed travel for 20 years. Friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm for a funeral service in the chapel at 4:30 pm with Rev. STICKLES – Peacefully at Delhi Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, January 3, 2010, John “Bun” Burns Stickles, formerly of Woodstock. Companion of Sheila Humphrey of Woodstock. Father of John (Ruth), Wayne (Carolyn), Gary (Diana), Robert, and Ann (Earl). Also remembered by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and Sheila’s sons Brian, Robert, and Eric.
