Dear mother of David LeClair and his wife Joan, Allan LeClair and Peter LeClair and his wife Mel all of Sarnia and Julie Crowe and her husband Larry of Valrico, Florida. Loving grandmother of Candy, Amy, Crystal, Jerid, Scott, Suzanne, Kristen and Amanda. Also survived by 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Roger Tonkinson in England. Aunt to Meg, Liz, Alan and David. Pre-deceased by a sister Sylvia Wild, Mrs. LeClair was born at Waterfoot, England and had resided in Sarnia since 1946. She was a very active volunteer with Child Foster Care and also knitted articles for the Children’s Aid Society up until a short time ago. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia, on Friday, July 19th., at 11:00 a.m. with Angela MacDonald officiating. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. HIGGINSON, Leslie of Hawkesbury
Higginson, Mr. Leslie Pattee from Hawkesbury passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of the late May Higginson nee Matthew; the son of the late Howard Higginson and of the late Alice Powell; the loving father of Leslie (Susan Chamberlain), Ross (Johanne) and Percy (Jill Cass); the adored grandfather of Julia, Nick, Chris, Val, James and Kate. He was predeceased by his brothers Howard (late Marcelline), Ben, Henry (late Enid), Ernie (Jean) and Lawrence (Elizabeth). He is survived by many sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. A high school teacher, vice principal and school superintendent, Leslie also contributed to his community as church warden and lay minister, Scout leader, member of the hospital board and historical society, alumnus of Guelph University. An inspiration to his family, he will live on in those he touched.

Peacefully at his home in Cobourg on Friday, July 12th, 2013, John Taylor at 61 years of age. Beloved husband of Cathy Taylor (nee Wright). Cherished father of Amber Crowe, Becki Taylor, Lonni Dawe, and Kali Taylor. Beloved father-in-law and special friend to Clint Crowe and Steve Dawe. Loving grandfather of Jade (Wes Jr.), Cale (Lana), Raven, Ryan, Lincoln, Payton, and great grandfather of Cameron and Brodi. Son of Betty Taylor and the late Newt Taylor. Dear brother of Terry Taylor (Marion), Sue Ferguson (Steve), and Evan Taylor (Tracey). Greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Also missed by his beloved dog Nika. John was an employee of Kraft-General Foods for 37 years. He was an avid sportsman both as a participant and coach. He was also the #1 fan of his daughters and his grandchildren. He had participated in competitive horseshoes for the past 20 years and in October had been elected President of Horseshoe Ontario. At John’s request there will be cremation with a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Baltimore Community Centre on Sunday, July 21st, from 1-5 pm with service at 2 pm (casual dress please, ball caps are encouraged). KELLY, BRYAN JOSEPH of Peterborough, formerly of Stouffville
KELLY, Bryan Joseph of Peterborough, Ontario (formerly of Stouffville, ON) at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on July 12, 2013 at the age of 78. Bryan is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Barbara (Roberts) Kelly. He is fondly remembered by his daughters Lynn Kelly (Robin Wynne-Edwards) and Terry Leitch (Andy); his daughter-in-law Florence (Marais) Kelly; his grand-daughters Jordan and Alexandra Leitch and Dominique Kelly; and his numerous extended family members. . Bryan is predeceased by his son, Glen Kelly; his brothers, John and William Kelly; and his parents William and Kathleen (Cameron) Kelly. Bryan will be happily remembered by his family and friends as someone who encouraged and admired each of them and who shared much love and laughter with all. Bryan was born December 25, 1934 in Lachine, Quebec. He completed a Business degree at Sir George Williams University, Montreal, QC. Bryan worked in the petroleum industry for over 30 years, retiring as an Executive at Petro Canada, Toronto, ON. Bryan loved the sport of golf. He started golfing with his father and two brothers as a boy. The family would attend early mass on Sunday mornings so that they could get to the course before the crowds. As an adult, Bryan spent his Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings on a golf course doing what he loved best. In keeping with Bryan’s wishes, his passing is to be marked by a private family gathering. GANLEY, F. JOHN of Peterborough
GANLEY, F. John – C.A. – At peace with his God and the world, John died on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Beloved spouse of Rosemary Burns (Kirkland Lake) for 52 years, tender and supportive father of four children: Mary Anne (deceased, 1966), Jim, (Jillian Napier), Cobble Hill, BC; Michael, (Belinda MacFadyen), Edmonton; and Paul, (Danielle Vincent), Newmarket. Beloved Grandpa of Jack, Jensa and Jay Napier-Ganley, Thomas, Megan and Sarah Ganley, and Emma and Ava Ganley. Dear brother of six siblings, Edith Olmstead, Anne Brownrigg, Jean Ganley, and George, Harry and Charles Ganley. John was predeceased by sisters Carol Scotese and Catherine Fox, and brother Robert Ganley. Son of Francis James Ganley and Mary Lafontaine, John was born in 1933 in Montreal. He graduated from Loyola College in 1960 with a B Comm, and from McGill University in 1965 with his chartered accountant designation. The Jesuit Community of Canada was very important in the formation of his life view and commitments. John then worked in industry while serving on the Dorval School Board. Entering secondary teaching in 1968, John moved to Peterborough with his family. Keen to serve the public good and to see the world, John and Rosemary volunteered in Kingston, Jamaica and in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 1975-81. He was later elected to the Peterborough Utilities Commission and co-founded the vibrant development organization “Jamaican Self Help” in 1981. He served as volunteer executive director of JSH for nine years and led countless teenagers on awareness trips to Kingston. He was honoured for this work in 1992, named winner of the Lewis Perinbam Prize in International Development. In 1994 John was awarded the Peterborough YMCA Peace Prize. He found time to pay Old Timers hockey and to help at the Peterborough Rowing Club. He also served on the board of the Trent Valley Literacy Association. In later years, John found a loyal friend and walking partner in George Tough, and they had much to discuss about public affairs. He delighted in the growing grandchildren and their sports and interests. A true progressive thinker, John embraced the social movements: women’s, anti-poverty and environmental causes. He and Rosemary were named to the Peterborough Pathway of Fame in 2011, a crowning moment. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME – ASHBURNHAM CHAPEL, 840 Armour Rd., Peterborough on Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place on Monday, July 15 from 2-4 and 7-9. The family thanks the medical, social justice and faith communities of Peterborough, the Friday Morning Meditation Group, and many friends in both near and distant places for their loving support. Pillay, Sarah Kanthimathy
passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones, on July 24th, 2013. She is survived by her beloved husband Datta; loving children Sukanya and Jeet and his wife Regina, and her loving grandsons Dhruv, Rohan and Jatin whom she adored. In India, she is survived by her mother Rajammal who is ninety-four years old, and her two younger sisters Sundari and Sivagnanam. Eight days earlier she had suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke. During the week that followed, Sarah beautifully expressed her love and care for her family and dear friends, and was surrounded by them. Sarah is a graduate of Queen Mary’s College, Chennai (Madras), and completed Art training at Kalakshetra in Madras. She is an artist by profession and she brought grace and beauty to the world in her every gesture. A very caring person and favourite of family and friends, she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Downtown Mission or the Hindu Temple of Windsor.
