O’Leary, Isabel Teresa of Belleville, Ontario

O’Leary, Isabel Teresa – finished a remarkable 100 year life which began on October 11, 1913 and ended peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at QHC –Belleville General Hospital. Her final day was spent in a room filled with laughter and love as family stories were shared and embellished. Isabel was the daughter of the late Patrick George and Ellen Towns. Beloved wife of the late Joseph O’Leary. Loving mother of Maureen (Harvey) Kochen, of Irvine, CA, Michael (Annette) of Markham, Sharon (Bob) Ainsworth, Bill (Susan) and John, all of Belleville and Jim (Cynthia) of Ottawa and Amanda O’Leary of Vancouver.Phenomenal grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Isabel is predeceased by her sisters Kathleen Heffernan, Margaret, Isabelle and Sr. Mary Denis, by her brothers William, Joseph, Charles and Francis Towns and by her daughter in-law Guna Fogels. She is survived by her in-laws Mary Towns and Anne and Marc Vermette She is missed by many nieces and nephews as well as a wide community of people whose lives she touched.
The family will receive friends at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, (613-968-2273) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Douro on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. If desired, Memorial Donations to Hastings Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

McDonald, Verna Eileen of Sault Ste. Marie, formerly of Thessalon

Suddenly at the Sault Area Hospital with family by her side on Wednesday March 12, 2014. Verna McDonald of Sault Ste. Marie, formerly of Thessalon in her 58th year, beloved wife of Gerald McDonald for 9 years and The Late Harry MacLeod. Loving mother of Melanie MacLeod and Darrell MacLeod both of Sault Ste. Marie and step-mother to Tia and Tim. Special Grandma to Hannah, Cole James, Addy Mae, Mariah and Dylan. Dear daughter of Harry and The Late Jean Rayner. Dear sister of Robert Rayner (Carol), Bill Rayner and Don Rayner (Sheila). Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Verna will be remembered for her zest for life, her love of camping and the outdoors, and a tremendous love for her family particularly her grandchildren. Friends may call at the Thessalon Bible Chapel on Saturday March 15, 2014 from 1pm until time of service at 3 o’cock with Charlie Martin officiating. Cremation followed by spring interment at The Sands Cemetery. In Verna’s name a trust fund has been established for her grandchildren. Please make cheques payable to “McDonald Grandchildren’s Trust”. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.

SCOULER-KERWIN, Elizabeth Ann of St. Thomas formerly of Sarnia

It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Elizabeth Ann Kerwin-Scouler announces her passing on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the age of 50. Loved mother of Candice Ayers (Jordan), Stephen Ayers (Jessica), and William Ayers (Ashley). Cherished grandmother of Kylie and Keeden Ayers. Beloved daughter of Bill Kerwin (Doreen) and the late Mary (Pat) Kerwin. Dear sister of Sandra (Dewayne) Evans, Kim (Lou) Cicchini, and Wendy (Rick) Davies. Elizabeth was involved with Scouts Canada for over 20 years. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Smith Funeral Home. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation or Scouts Canada (cheques only at the funeral home please).

CARRIERE, Jeanne - The family announces with sorrow the passing of their beloved mom in Sudbury on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014, at the age of 88 years. Wife of the late Lucien Carrière and the late Claude Fortier. Daughter of the late Evariste and of the late Edna (née Dubois) Cataford. Cherished mother of Diane (Dave) of Sudbury, Albert (Betty) of South River and Yvette (late Red) of Sudbury. Dear sister of Cécile (Camille) of Victoria, B.C. Predeceased by her siblings Rita (late Ralph), Pauline (late Fred), Donat (Irène) and Pierrette (late Hubert). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Rose (Albert), Jeannine, Nathan, Linda, Susan and by her 10 great-grandchildren. Jeanne enjoyed playing cards and going to the bingo and casino. She loved to sing, shop, go for long drives but was at her happiest when surrounded by her family. Her smile, her generosity and her kind soul will be forever remembered. A private family gathering and service was held on Thursday. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.

He will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. Richard had a passion for painting which was shown in his art collection. Dear step-brother of Rene. Predeceased by his sister Barb Barry (Ray), his brothers Barry, Roger and Lloyd, his step-sister Melissa Russel and by his step-mother Shirley Bellefeuille. passed away peacefully with family at his side at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Saturday, March 1, 2014, RICHARD OLIVER WALLER, age 57 of Sarnia . Much loved husband of Karen (Font) Waller, cherished father of Troy and his wife Kathleen and much love grandfather of Kaiden. Will be missed by his siblings; twin brother and best friend Ron (Linda), James (Sharen), Sharan Cope (Robert), Carolyn Swanson and James Gore, Bill (Connie), Norma Lamframboise, and brother in-law of Don and Maryjane Font and Cheryl and Mike Dunn. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Marjorie Waller. A very special uncle to many nieces and nephews as well many great nieces and great nephews. Richard enjoyed a hockey, golf and baseball but thoroughly enjoyed making home made wood working gifts for his grandson Kaiden. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, between the hours of 2-4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE ON Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Sympathy may be expressed through donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Bluewater Health Palliative Care or to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 62 Poppy Fund. .

Dear brother of Nellie Bell, the late Nita Carleton and the late William Brack. Jim will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Marjorie Beattie and Betty Walker and by his many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 3521 County Road 124, Nottawa on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. Spring interment Stayner Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, would be appreciated by Jim’s family.
