HAINES, Luella Christina (Lou)

Suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at Toronto General Hospital in her 77th year.

Beloved wife of Joe for 54 years. Loving mother of Alan and his wife Arlene. Dear Nana of Kyle, Holly, Tyler, Kendra and Great Grandmother of Dorian. Dear sister of the late Everett Pogson, Hazel Gilbert and Bernice Randall. Lou will also be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews as well as her many dear friends.

Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Sunday, June 13th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. Funeral Service and Committal complete in the Chapel on Monday, June 14th at 11:00 A.M. followed by cremation.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Toronto General Hospital.

Pillar of strength and Mother of Anne Johncox (Ian), Shaun (Cindy) and Ryan (Christina). Proud grandmother of Erica, Aidan and Austin. Devoted wife of the late John Houston.

Betty’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1 pm, Friday, June 11, 2010. There will be visitation one hour prior at noon.

At Betty’s request, a party will be held at the home of Anne and Ian immediately following the service.

Raymond beloved husband of Deborah. Loved father of Martin Howells and the late Jocelyn Howells. Loving grandfather of Madisson, Conlan, Megan and Tommy.

Dear sister of Muriel Simpson, Gwen Couture, Russell Vatcher and Harold Vatcher. Predeceased by her sisters Aileen Sinden and Pauline Blanthorne and by her brothers Gordon Vatcher and Archie Vatcher.

On Monday, June 7th, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer, Olga passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Bill “Sam” of 62 years. Loving mother of Lynn Jones (Ross) and David Smith (Kathy). Proud grandmother of Leah, Aaron, Jordan and Jenna. Great grandmother of Makayla and Alyssa. Dear sister of Anne Jakubowski. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary and brother-in-law Steve. Olga will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

As per Olga’s wishes, cremation and a private family service will take place.

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on June 7th, 2010 in her 97th year.

Born in Whitby Ontario on July 4th, 1913. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Tran. Loving mother of John (Chris), Joan Stire, Herbert (Pat), Paul (Cathy predeceased), Elmer (Mary), George (Lynda predeceased), and Sharon Ward. Dear sister of Ralph (Helen) Crawford and Velma Sonley. Predeceased by brothers Gordon, Gormley, Garnet, Lorne and Elmer. Loving grandmother of 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas St. E., (905) 668-3410 in Whitby on Thursday June 10th 2010 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

A celebration of Madeline’s life will take place at St. Marks United Church 201 Centre St. S., in Whitby on Friday June 11th 2010 at 11 am. A reception will follow in the church hall following the service. Interment will take place at Whitevale Cemetery.

Peacefully with his loving wife and soul mate, Sharon, by his side at St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital, Kingston, on Monday, June 7, 2010 in his 64th year.

Loving father of Ricky, Sandra (Sam), Jeffrey, Justin and Jackie; step-father of Shannon (Roger), Melissa (Shane) and Erin. Grandpa to Tyler, Travis, Taylor, Brandon, Matthew, Marissa, Joshua, Mackenzie, Kyla, Noah, Camron, Madison and the late Trey. Dear brother of Gary (Mavis) and the late Don Welsh and Marlene Stewart. Predeceased by mother Ella Rogers and Donald Welsh. Remembered by his step-father Bob Mathison. Will be lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends.

In his 81st year. Passed away unexpectedly in St. John, New Brunswick on Monday June 7, 2010.

Dear husband of Betty (Colwell). Father of Stephen, Wendy Rolfe (Wayne), Glenda Craigwell (Arthur), Paula Wilband (Neil), Brent Wilband and the late Blake Wilband. Proud grandfather of Tiffany, Alisha, Keith and Spencer. Great grandfather of Nadim and Aaliyah. Loved brother of Louise of Florida, Claire of Arizona and Joan of Arizona, the late Agnes, Ruth, Pat, Rita, Aubrey, Frank and Joe.

A graveside service will be held at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa on Saturday July 31st at 12 noon.

After a lengthy illness, on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Lakeridge Health Centre, in Port Perry, at age 80.

Joan Brown-Ongley of Caesarea, beloved wife of the late David Ongley. Loving stepmother of Roberta Ongley and her husband Ron Latham of Vancouver. Loved sister of Pauline and her husband Doug Robinson of Toronto, Mildred and her husband Harry (deceased) Ludlow of Barrie, and she was predeceased by Gwen and her husband Harold Davis of Toronto. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends.

The Family of Joan Brown-Ongley will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985 2171) on Friday, June 11th from 10 – 11 a.m.

A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with Reverend Bruce McCallum officiating.
