WANNAMAKER, Marilyn Ethel

Born December 6, 1945 - Passed away suddenly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, June 3, 2010 in her 65th year.

Dear mother of Douglas (Bev), James (Kimberly) and Tasha.

Caring grandmother of Chris, Gwen, Matthew, Samantha, Dustin and Leighland.

Great-grandmother of Haily, Elie, Evan and Lucas.

Dear sister of Robert, Paul and the late Harold and Don. Greatly missed by Henry.

Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa on Monday June 7, 2010 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral service will take place in the funeral home Chapel on Tuesday June 8, 2010 at 11 a.m.

Interment to take place on Saturday June 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. Carrying Place Cemetery, Trenton.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

WILSON, Evelyn Aileen (nee Elliott)

Passed away peacefully at her new home at Champlain Manor, Orillia on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 in her 95th year.

Beloved wife of the late William Alfred Wilson. (2006)

Mother and best buddy of her daughter Diane McKinzey and son-in-law Ron.

Mimi was and will always be loved by her two granddaughters Lisa and Leanne.

Family and Friends are invited to BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby (905-655-3662) from 7-9 pm Thursday (June 10th).

Then to Brooklin United Church Friday afternoon (June 11th) at 2:00 p.m. for funeral service.

Visitation will continue in the church from 1:00 until service time.

If desired memorial donations to Brooklin United Church or Ardtrea United Church would be appreciated.

It is with a sad heart that I, James Henriksen, announce the passing of my wife, Ethel McColl Henriksen – Nov. 7, 1943 – June 01, 2010; Nov. 7, 1943 – June 02, 2010 Scottish Time.

For those who love, time is eternity. Ethel fought cancer for seventeen years, never complaining.

There will be a deep feeling of loss to our children Jacqueline, Pamela, and James; granddaughter Jacina Dawn Johanson (Vancouver), grandsons Christofer and Joshua Martin (Ajax); Ethel’s sister Mrs. Maureen Maher and brother-in-law Mr. Eddie Maher (Scotland), Ethel’s brother Billy Neish and wife Yanni (Scotland).

I would like to extend gratitude that words cannot express to Dr. Lorne Stephen, family doctor, Oshawa Clinic, Dr. Joseph Chans, McLaughlin Cancer Centre, Dr. Jenifer Knox, Clinical Research, Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Dr. Laura Dawson, Radiation Clinic Trials, Princes Margaret Toronto.

To the radiation technicians, Princess Margaret Hospital, for their care, their kindness and compassion to my wife Ethel, thank you.

To Dr. Dixon, McLaughlin Cancer Centre, for his kindness, compassion and support to my wife Ethel.

To Kasie Penny, R.N., McLaughlin Cancer Centre, for the attention, kindness, care, compassion and support, above and beyond, I thank you.

To radiation technicians, McLaughlin Cancer Centre, for my wife Ethel, I thank you for your care and attention and kind compassion while working with my wife.

To Dr. Wilk, Dr. Devost, and colleagues of Palliative Care, McLaughlin Cancer Centre, thank you for your support, kindness and understanding. For Ethel, I thank you.

To Central East Community Care Access Centre and Durham Care Partners – Trena Alberti and the Green Team, Gail Edgar, R.N., Debbie Shone, R.N., Tracy Boullion, R.N. and Rit R.N., for their kindness, compassion, care and support to my wife Ethel. They are the epitome of the nursing profession. They gave me the strength to keep going. My eternal thanks to occupational therapist Pam. Thank you for your compassion.

My wife Ethel did not want a funeral.

Cremation will be carried out through the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, who I thank for their professionalism and care of my wife.

Peacefully after a short battle with Cancer on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in her 69th year.

Mary Etta Hogan (nee Stringer), beloved wife of Bob Hogan for 45 years.

Loving Mother of Rob and Brad Hogan.

Proud Nanny of Nicholle.

Dear sister of Eileen (John) Pogue and Pauline (late Gregory) Gorgerat.

Mary's family will welcome relatives and friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Friday, June 4th between 7 – 9 p.m.

Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gregory The Great Roman Catholic Church, 194 Simcoe Street North (at Adelaide St.), Oshawa. Cremation to follow.

Memorial remembrances made to the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre would be appreciated by her family.

KENNEDY, Edward Christopher (Ned)

Passed away at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 in his 69th year.

Dearly loved husband of Louise (Liz) Kennedy for nearly 45 years of Whitby.

Loved father of Terry Kennedy of Pontypool, Doris Kennedy-Miskie of Courtice. Adored by his grandchildren Alannah, Terri-Lynn, Hollie, Mitchell and Bailie.
Brother of Betty (Art) Stapleton of Newfoundland, Amelia (Harold) Fifie of Newfoundland, Dave Kennedy (Doris) of Newfoundland, Nelson of Newfoundland, Phil (Anne) Kennedy of Cobourg, Patricia Eley of Oshawa and Margaret Morgan of Lindsay.

Always loved by his sisters-in-law Maria Frendo-Cumbo of Brooklin, Vincenza Cutajar of England, Carmen (Dom) Haidon of England and survived by many nieces and nephews.

Resting at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby (905-655-3662) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Then to Holy Family Catholic Church, 91 Ribblesdale Dr, Whitby for Mass of Christian Burial Monday (June 7th) at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby.

If desired memorial donations to the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Center would be appreciated by the family.

peacefully in her 63rd year after a long, courageous battle with M.S., at Strathaven Nursing Home with family at her side, on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

Loving wife of the late Doug McCurdy.

Sadly missed by her children Carrie, and Dougie and his wife Claire, and grandchildren Liam and Evan.

Sister of Peter Cowie (Sue); sister-in-law of Ruthanne Hartin (Mike), Charlie, Ray (Leigh Ann), and the late Ted (survived by Linda).

Predeceased by her parents Russell and Muriel Cowie. Sadly missed by cousin Don Oates and all of the extended Oates family.

Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle (just north of 401 at the lights) on Sunday, June 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at NEWCASTLE UNITED CHURCH, 84 Mill St. S. (corner of Mill and Caroline) on Monday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather.

Michael passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, surrounded by family. He was in his 66th year.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Mary (nee Mattacchione).

Loving father of Ryan and his wife Carmela, and Marc and his wife Joanne.

Proud Nonno of his “adorable” grandsons Nicolas and Noah, and his little “princess” Emjay.

Predeceased by his parents Pasquale and Arcangela Belmonte.

He will be sadly missed by his brothers Joe (Ernida), Herman (Connie), Vince (Nadia), Tony (Saveria) and Patrick (Kim) and sisters-in-law Rita (Don), Nina (Bert) and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Friday, June 4th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 570 Marion Ave. on Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 A.M. Cremation to follow.
