Passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2005 at Memorial Hospital Bowmanville after a long, and astonishingly courageous battle with poor health Cherished husband and best friend of Norma Beecroft, and loving brother of Graeme. He will be sadly mourned by his children Roddy and wife Frances Turner, Laura McNeill, Karen and husband Corrado Tomarchio, and Wendy Turner. Loving Papa of Corrie and Susie Turner, Ian and Alexander McNeill, and Robin and Adriana Tomarchio. Special thanks for the special care to the staff of Marnwood Life Care, Bowmanville and the doctors and nurses at Memorial Hospital Bowmanville. Cremation has taken place. COLE, Eileen Muriel
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Cole at the Palliative Care Unit, Lakeridge Health-Whitby on Saturday, August 13th, 2005 at the age of 77. A lifelong resident of Oshawa, she was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine Cole and was predeceased by her sisters Doris and Edna and her brothers Ray and Bert. Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her sister Hilda (and brother- in-law Harold) Woolley, her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. A member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Eileen worked for Bell Canada for 38 ½ years before retiring in 1983. Her health had deteriorated in the past 3 years and after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, she is now at peace. We would like to thank the staff of Cedarcroft Retirement Home (Oshawa), the 8th floor, Lakeridge Health-Oshawa and the 4th floor, Lakeridge Health-Whitby for their kind and loving care during Eileen's stay with each of them. Passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Saturday August 13, 2005. Dearly loved wife of the late William David Sturch. She will be missed by her brothers-in-law Leonard (Elizabeth) of Auckland, New Zealand and Peter (Angela) of London England, sisters-in-law Mrs. Jean (Trevor) Morgan, Ms Joan Sturch and Mrs. Jacqueline Sturch and their families. She will also be missed by her many friends in Canada and the United States. Mrs. Sturch was born in Springfield Massachusetts U.S.A. and is a graduate of Chicopee High School and Bay Path College. She was a Past Grand President of the Ladies Auxiliaries to the Order of Scottish Clans in the U.S. and Canada. Past President of Aux. 39, O.S.C., Chicopee Falls and Aux 68 O.S.C. Toronto. A member of Aloha Chapter # 258 O.E.S. and a life Member of the Tartan Social Club, Toronto. According to the wishes of Mrs. Sturch there will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside service will be held at a later date at the Pirie family plot in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee MS U.S.A. If desired donations may be made to the Memorial Hospital Foundation Bowmanville.
