Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Corp.-Oshawa on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Barb for 53 years. Loving father of Toby Feather (Ian), Susan Chaput (Joe), Tim Wodnisky (Robyn) and Michael Wodnisky. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Lisa, Jeremy, Trisha, Jordan, Caley, Amanda, Shawn, Sara and by his great-grandchildren, Marlon, Ty, Shawnta and Rae Ann. Dear brother of Vi, Olga, Mary (Fred) and Ronnie (Nettie). Predeceased by his sister, Celia and by his brothers, Peter and Bill. Resting at The ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Saturday, August 5th, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. BALL, Frank
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Edward Ball on Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 at Lakeridge Health-Bowmanville following a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Frank was the beloved husband of Ferne and dear father of Carole and her husband, Doug Gibbs of Oshawa, and Steve Ball and his wife, Heather of Whitby. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Todd Gibbs and his wife, Susan, Laura, Diana and Derek Ball and Kristen Mason and his great-granddaughter, Grace. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Ball and his wife, Angela of Toronto and by his brother-in-law, Jack Dewell and his wife, Verna. Frank retired from Alger Press-Oshawa as a sales manager. He served 4 years in the R.C.A.F. during W.W.II. He was an active member of Westmount Kiwanis Club and the "Westmount Wanderers Band". Frank served as Lt. Governor of Kiwanis Division 10 and was elected a "Mel Osborne Fellow" of the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada. In 1996, Frank was inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame for the sport of cycling, which he represented Oshawa, and Canada, at many national and international competitions. Passed away peacefully, in his 87th year on August 1, 2006, with his daughters at his side. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Inez. Loved father of Nancy Dale (John) of Mississauga, and Patricia Delsey (Michael) of Pickering. Fred will be missed by his grandchildren, Kevin, Paul, Mary and Jennifer. Dear brother of Dorothy Switzer (Clare, deceased), Florence Swail (Gordon) and Gerald Dawson (Joy). Predeceased by brother, Delmar. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Fred brought much happiness, tears and joy through his beautiful voice and piano playing. The family would like to thank the staff at Amica Erin Mills and The Wenleigh for their wonderful care.
