SAWYER, Bonnie Arlene
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009, with her loving family by her side in her 67th year. Loving mother of Sharon Carswell (Lou Chisholm), Shawn Mark (nee Sawyer). Will be sadly missed by Reg and her sisters Marg (Dee Dee) Crawford (Wayne) and Dorothy Brooks (Lyle, predeceased). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kyle, Sydney and Minnie. Predeceased by sister Bev Mark and brothers Clayton (Barb, predeceased), Bruce (Dianne, predeceased) and Brice. Survived by her sister-in-law, Jackie Mark. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Bonnie was past, part owner of City Wide Taxi, and currently with Blue Line Taxi and will be very sadly missed. THOMAS (Imelda) Pearl (nee JACKSON)
(1934-2009)
God called Pearl home to glory on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Grace Hospital Health Centre in Toronto. Pearl will be dearly missed by her sister Yvonne Jackson, her nieces Cherry Gopaul, Angela Thomas and Deborah Revanales as well as other family members in Trinidad, Canada and the United States. She will also be deeply missed by her adopted sister and brother, Marjorie Fonck and James Chestnutt (Eleanor, Jimi, Peter). Pearl enjoyed watching sports, and she had a passion for beautiful music and a lovely soprano voice. She travelled to many Baptist World Alliance Conventions. Pearl was a member of Yorkminster/Park Baptist Church in Toronto and also attended Blythwood Baptist. She nursed at Women's College Hospital for over 40 years. Many thanks to Dr. Lorraine PhiIp, Dr. Swartz, Lana Dee Lampman of the St. Elizabeth nurses, Catherine Prestwick of CCAC and the caring staff at Grace Hospital. Sincere thanks to all those friends who loved Pearl and cared for her during her illness. A celebration of Pearl's life is planned for Tuesday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. to take place at Yorkminster/Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge St., Toronto (just north of St. Clair at Heath St.). In lieu of flowers, Pearl asked that if desired, donations be made toward the sanctuary pia no at Yorkminster/Park Baptist Church.

Passed away on September 23, 2009 at Lansing Retirement Home at the age of 100. Loving husband of the late Bertha Ross and loving father of Beverley (William McQueen). Grandpa of Kevin, Craig (Heather) and great-grandpa of Kate. He will be sadly missed by family and friends in California and Ontario. Retired Compositor and past member of UCT #72. Passed away peacefully at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Catherine. Loving father, grandfather and brother. Jack was predeceased by his daughter Rachel. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Thursday, September 24th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, September 25th at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (903 Gifford Street, Whitby) at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Interment will take place in Nova Scotia where he will be reunited with his wife and daughter. STOAKLEY, Phyllis Muriel, 97, of Middleton, NS formerly of Oshawa, ON passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, NS. Born in Oshawa, ON, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Ada (Hill) Harland. In her early years, Phyllis enjoyed travelling with her late husband, Norman. She enjoyed knitting, reading and bingo and she always followed the Toronto Blue Jays and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. She is survived by her son Charles (Donna) Stoakley, Clarence; grandchildren Kathy James, Emma Kathleen, Carol Murphy and Doug Stoakley; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Norman, son Douglas, sisters Una, Alice, Sadie and brother Sidney. Cremation has taken place. Donations in her memory may be made to Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville.

Loving mother of Pauline and Andy Shea and Robert and Paula Cater. Devoted grandmother to Karen, Len, Laura, Brian, Jessica and J ose. Great-grandmother to Jamie, Sara and Ella.
