After a short battle against cancer, peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Bowmanville, on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Dorothy (nee Willson) in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Lewis Allan. Dear mother of Susan Clearwater and her husband Rick Lea and Nancy and her husband Bud Fluke. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Brian, Kody, Mandie and Connie. Survived by her sister Ruth McMullan and predeceased by her sister Gladys Graham and brothers Clayton and Gord Willson. At her request no service. Cremation with interment at GROVESIDE CEMETERY. On the morning of January 16, 2007 with family by her side, Elizabeth Brayford of Whitby, closed her eyes and went to Eternal Glory. Beloved wife of the late Allan Brayford. The greatest Mother to Gregory and Geoffrey. Daughter to John and Margaret Turnbull. Daughter-in-law of Ada Brayford and the late Gordon. Dear sister of Sadie, Ray, Tommy, Margaret, Jessie and Joan. Auntie to many Nephews and Nieces. Nanny to the Whitla and Beauparlant families. She was loved by all who knew her. Her kindness and bright smile will be sorrowly missed and the world is indeed a far lesser place without her in it. Visitation will be held Friday, January 19th from 7 to 9 p.m at W.C. It is with great sadness that the family of Elaine Cooper announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at her home. Forever remembered by Chris and lovingly remembered by her children Dave (Della), Adrienne and Brad (Dawn). Elaine will be fondly remembered by her grandson Sam. She leaves behind her loving brother Ron. Elaine will also be forever remembered by her cousins, nieces and extended family of both the Welsh and Hicks, dear friends and co-workers at Black & Decker Canada. Elaine had a passion for life and work and always looked forward to her vacations at a cottage. Elaine loved relaxing on her back deck in the summer enjoying a glass of wine while watching the birds. Visitation will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby (905-668-3410) on Friday, January 19, 2007 from 2pm-4pm and Saturday, January 20, 2007 from 2pm-4pm. Passed away on January 16, 2007, in her 92nd year. She lived with her late husband Tom in the homestead at 'Pebblestone Golf Course' until her health deteriorated and she moved to 'The Wynfield'. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alma Stainton and was married for 36 years to the late Tom Sobil. Survived by her sister Berenice Hawley, Peterborough, brothers- in-law Peter Sobil, Paul (Shirley) Sobil, and sister-in-law Phyllis Sobil, Columbus. Predeceased by her sister Doris (Ross) Lee, brothers Lloyd and John Stainton, brothers-in-law Frank (Goldie) Sobil, Stephen Sobil, Adam Hawley and sisters-in-law May Lyczba (Joe) and Annie Sobil. She will be greatly missed by her nieces Diane Werry and Catherine Hawley and sister-in-law Shirley Sobil. She was a very special aunt to all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
