MANNING, Paul
After a courageous battle with cancer Paul passed away at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday, January 14, 2007 in his 58th year. Beloved husband of Jeanette. Loving dad of Lauren and Colin. Also will be sadly missed by his father Ralph and his brothers Robert (Carol), David (Linda), Michael (Marlene), Mark and sister Mary. Paul is pre- deceased by his mother Theresa. Family will receive friends at the MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd. Whitby, On. (just north of Hwy 2) 905-665-0600 from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment: Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations would be greatly appreciated to the Princess Margaret Hospital Fund or the Oshawa Cancer Center.

MEAGHER, Most Reverend Anthony Giroux, DD
Eighth Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kingston.
Archbishop Meagher passed away peacefully at his family home in Oshawa, surrounded by the love and caring support of his family, on Sunday, January 14, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 17, 1940, in Oshawa, Ontario, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Toronto in 1972. He served in various parishes of that Archdiocese before being named an Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto in 1997. He was appointed Archbishop of Kingston in 2002. He is survived by his beloved aunt, Antoinette Giroux, his sister-in-law, Sharlene Mann, his niece, Deborah Blais (Robert), his grand-nephew, Nathaniel Blais, and his cousins Laurie and Mary Frances Kane. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank Meagher and Lillian Giroux, and by his brother, Butch. Archbishop Meagher is fondly remembered by the priests, deacons, religious, and laity of the Archdiocese of Kingston; by members of other faith communities in this city and beyond; and particularly by those who have also been called to carry the cross of suffering and illness. His warmth, approachability, good humour, and dedication endeared him to the people whom he served so well, and his spirit of hope and courage inspired all who knew him. Archbishop Meagher will lie in state at St. Mary's Cathedral, 279 Johnson Street, Kingston, Ontario, (613) 546-5521, on Thursday, January 18, 2007, from the Rite of Reception at 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In recognition of his respect for all faith traditions and of his commitment to peaceful dialogue, an inter-faith vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 18 at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Archbishop will also lie in state on Friday, January 19 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19 at the Cathedral. Rite of Committal with Prayers will take place on Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the family plot at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Rossland Road east of Brock Street, Whitby, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Priests' Benefit Fund of the Archdiocese of Kingston or the Shepherd's Trust of the Archdiocese of Toronto would be appreciated. In the care of GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME, KINGSTON. For the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 19, parking will be available at St. Joseph's Church, 392 Palace Road, Kingston, with shuttle service to the Cathedral beginning at 11:00 a.m., and returning after the Mass and the reception.

Loving grandmother of Darryl Barkwell (Holly), Stephen Barkwell (Angie), Christopher and Jennifer Barkwell. Dearest great-grandmother of Haley, Hannah and Katie-Lynn. Predeceased by her sister Ruth Fowler and her grandson Michael Barkwell. Peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in her 80th year. Marie (Mary) beloved wife of the late Joseph Hachey. Loving mother of Michael Hachey, and Brenda Hachey and her husband Rick Tureck. Loved grandmother of Jessie Hachey. Predeceased by her brothers Leo and Fred LeBlanc. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Ida and Ann LeBlanc, Florine Burnett, Theresa Wilson, Viola Mooney, Eliza Hachey and Susan Hachey, and brothers-in-law John Burnett, Eddie Mooney, Armond Hachey, and Larry Hachey. Retired teacher Durham Separate School Board for 33 years.
Peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 60. Kash is the beloved son of Natalia Jakubiak and the late Jan Jakubiak, and the loving brother of the late Barbara Kashmir. Kash will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his mother and his family in Poland, in France and his many friends here. Peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Extendicare Nursing Home, Oshawa in her 93rd year. Mary is the beloved wife of the late Meredith Caldwell Jones (2003). Loved mother of Robert Jones and his wife Leona of Oshawa. Mary is predeceased by her sisters Ethel Roberts, Gladys Chalmers, Elsie Cane, and Gertrude Jenkins, and by her brothers Harry, Charles and Harold Chinn. Father of Laura, Jewell, April LeBlanc and her partner Brian Hergott, Corey LeBlanc and his partner Janet Nicholson. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lindsay, Christopher and Kloe. Brother of Jane and her husband Peter Fletcher. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Laura Upton. Wayne will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Liz Gemmell, sisters-in-law Martha Thickett, Margaret Convery, brother-in-law Gordon Convery, his many nieces and nephews and his special friend Jo Anne Mitchell. Wayne was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 and the Oshawa Naval Veterans Association. At Wayne's request there will be no service.
