GATCHELL, Thomas Cecil
Born March 16, 1920 passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Eileen (nee Allin) for 50 years, father of Susan and David (Kerrie MacPherson) both of Toronto; brother Stanley (Jessie) of Cape Breton. Tom will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. Tom was born in Bowmanville and lived there his entire life. He was always active in the community but particularly so after he retired from a 42year career at Goodyear. Whether delivering Meals on Wheels, volunteering as a special education teaching assistant, driving patients to Sunnybrook or volunteering at Big Brothers, Tom could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. In 2001 Tom was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship award, Rotary's highest honour, in recognition of his years of public service. Tom was an avid golfer and he and Eileen enjoyed many hours around various bridge tables. Passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Bracebridge Villa, in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his wife Beulah, daughter Gail Ste. Croix (Gil), and daughter Joan Dupuis (Joe). Survived by son Frank (Eileen), daughter Patricia Hekman (Herman), 10 grandchildren, and 14 great- grandchildren. Brother of William (Jean) of Windsor, the late Gloria, Fred and Kathleen. Antonie & his wife, Jannetje immigrated to Canada, in 1952 where they made their first home in Strathroy, Ontario. Antonie first worked at the Middlesex Furniture Factory in Strathroy. From there he went to work at the local IGA where he became Produce Manager. In 1965, Antonie & his family moved to Oshawa, Ontario, where he became manager of The Dutch Credit Union Oshawa Branch. Here Antonie spent his main working years (1966 - till his retirement in 1987). Visitation will take place at the NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Born in the Orkney Islands, Scotland on June 15, 1926, Gavin passed away at the Northumberland Health Care Centre, Cobourg on Wednesday, January 10, 2007. Survived by his daughter Elizabeth Susan Everest-Rendall and her husband Dana of Waterloo and by his wife Lois (nee Shaw). He will be remembered by his family in Manitoba, Australia and Scotland. After a long illness on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry, at age 86. Helen (nee Wotten), loved wife of the late Ray Bradburn. Dear sister of Ruby Johnson and Dorothy Archer, and dear sister-in-law of Muriel Wotten, and she was predeceased by her brothers, Henry and Roy Wotten. Helen will be missed by her three children: Ron Bradburn; Mary and her husband Al Aston; and Betty and her husband Bill Oxley; and by her four grandchildren: Jeremy and Jonathan Aston, and Derek and Julia Oxley.
