After a brief illness, at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site on Monday, June 11, 2007, in her 72nd year. Loving mother of Sharon (Paul) Marion, Steven (Sherry) Wyatt, Linda (Charles) McCaw and Randy (Patti) Wyatt. Grandmother of Denise (Phillip) Quinlan, Ian (Lee-Anne) Marion, Braden and Mark Wyatt, Michael (Holly) McCaw, Matthew McCaw, Amanda Wyatt (Pete) and Adam Wyatt. Great-grandmother of Ross Quinlan, Vanessa and Caleb Marion and Marley McCaw. Survived by siblings Paul (Sally) Anderson, Joan (Mervyn) Winters and Doug (Linda) Anderson. Daughter of the late Ross and Edith Anderson. Loving aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Peacefully, at St. Lawrence Lodge, with her family by her side on May 8, 2007, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Hickling. Dear mother of Patricia (Robert) Briggs of Kingston and John (Dianne) Hickling of Brockville. Beloved grandmother of Kathy (Matthew) King of Kingston, Debbie (Stephen) Gee of Kingston, Andrew (Shannon) Briggs of Victoria, Natalie of Calgary, Carolyn (Howard) Fischer of Huntington Beach, Peter (Lori) Hickling of Athens, Steven (Catherine) Hickling of Kingston, Mary Beth Hickling of Brockville and loving great-grandmother of 14. Survived by a sister Ruth Peppler of Hanover. Predeceased by sisters Mabel MacIntyre, Jean Kirstine and by a brother Walter Burgess. Ellen was well known in the Brockville community for her pioneering work as an Occupational Therapist, her skills at curling and golf and her bridge expertise.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Ellen’s life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. LLOYD, John
Passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 in Cumberland, B.C., at the age of 66. Predeceased by his parents Dorothy and John Lloyd, his maternal grandparents Lily and Fred Swart and his paternal grandparents in England. Survived by a sister Betty O’Neill.
A Memorial Service was held in Cumberland on April 25, 2007.

Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Nicholas Stienburg, Catherine, Alexandra, Campbell and Victoria Schoular. Sister of Willa (Howard) Clark of Smiths Falls. Predeceased by brothers Gerald and Jack (the late Helen) Wood. Also survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy (the late Warren) Woermke and Norma (Robert) Hoyt.

Dear stepfather of Carl Keeler (Tammy Marsolais) of Brinston, Troy (Dianna) Keeler of New Dublin, Darren Keeler (Shelly Simpson) of Brinston, Jason Keeler of Brinston, and Sarah Keeler (Ray Porter) of Brockville. Dear brother of Florence Newman of Maynooth and Zelma Edgar of Ottawa. Art will be fondly remembered by 14 grandchildren. Predeceased by sisters, Elsie, Amiela, Mary, Viola, Rosetta, Violet and brothers Ellard, Sam, Emil, Willie, David and Norman. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Long-time Brockville educator and retired Vice-Principal of Brockville Collegiate Institute passed away peacefully, at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at the age of 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Kerfoot) Grant. Dear brother of Marjorie Grant (Daunt) Barber of Brockville. Fondly remembered by nieces Marcia Barber Cole, and Susan Barber Stampe and her husband Wolfgang Stampe. Great-uncle of Christean and Leslie Cole and stepuncle of Dr. Albert Barber and two generations of his descendants. Predeceased by his brother-in-law John Kerfoot and his wife Mary, and dearly remembered by their children Barbara (Hooper) Kerfoot and Michael Kerfoot, and their respective families.

GREER, Lawrence George (Larry)
Born December 13, 1920; passed away at home in Newcastle, Ontario, on Friday, April 6, 2007, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. Beloved husband of 62 years to Betty Greer (nee Waring). Cherished father to daughters Bonnie Getzlaf (Ken) of White Rock, B. C., and Patricia Greer (Merv Kirby) of Caledon, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Georgina (Carr) Greer, sister Gwen Hanna Curran and brother Clarence Greer. Survived by his brother Lyle (Shirley) Greer of Fairfield East, Ontario, numerous nieces and nephews, and grandchildren Sue Legault (Doug Smith) of Coquitlam, B. C., Alex Getzlaf (Joanna) of Chilliwack, B. C., Christina Trible (Lamont) of Oceanside, CA, and great-grandchildren Devon, Alexander, Catherine, Emily and Elizabeth Getzlaf of Chilliwack, B. C., as well as Gerry and June (Waring) Metcalfe and family of Maidenhead, U.K. Larry was born at home on the family dairy farm and graduated from Brockville Collegiate. He served overseas in WWII as a Flying Officer with the RCAF, 425 French Canadian Allouette Squadron from 1940 to 1944, and saw duty in North Africa and Italy. He joined the Bank of Toronto in Brockville in 1938 and moved up the ranks to manager, working at branches in Owen Sound, Preston, Peterborough, Kitchener, North Bay, and finally Ottawa. He was an active supporter of numerous service clubs, including Kiwanis, Kinsmen, Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Legion, Cancer Society and Masonic Lodge, to name a few. After 45 years in the bank, he retired in July 1983 and returned to the beloved home he and Betty had built on Tilden Lake near North Bay, where they spent the next 18 years. In 2001 they relocated to Wilmot Creek in Newcastle. Larry and Betty traveled extensively throughout their lives together and especially enjoyed their retirement years trailering about North America and taking several cruises. Friends and family remember Larry as a kind, gentle man with a warm smile, curious about people and things, and always willing to listen. He was honest and fair-minded and always gave his best efforts to his family and career. Larry was loved and admired by all who knew him.

BENNETT, Oscar James Hutton
Peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the age of 81 years. Son of the late James and Lydia (Hutton) Bennett, and predeceased by his sisters Betty Saunders and Mina Hawkins, and by his brother Bill Bennett. He is survived by several nieces and nephews including Roger Saunders, Sharon Belanger, Wayne Saunders, as well as by numerous great nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Service will be held at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, on Saturday, March 24th with cremation to follow.
