MOEN, John Alvin
At Brockville General Hospital, peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 24, 2005, at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Margaret (Reed) Moen of Brockville. Loving father of Doreen Smith (Richard) of Toronto, Stephen Moen (Lisanne) of Edmonton, Julie Nelson (Ernie) of Arkansas, David Moen of South Carolina and Christine Ciglich (Jeff) of Brockville. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Peter and Geoff Moen, Matthew Nelson, Madison and McKenna Moen, Michelle, Tyler and Timothy Watts, and Megan Ciglich. Dear brother of Kenneth Moen (Virginia), Elsie Rosendahl and James Moen (Sharon).
Family and friends are invited to a service in celebration of John’s life at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Sunday, November 27th at 2 o’clock. Cremation will follow, with private interment at Roselawn Columbarium on Monday. In remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Peacefully at the St. Lawrence Lodge, with her family by her side, on Monday, November 21, 2005 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of Derek “Ted” Holmyard of Brockville. Cherished mother of Janet (Earl Rose) and Stephen Holmyard (Nicole Smith) all of Ottawa. Dear grandmother of Colin Rose, Corey and Angela Holmyard. Fondly remembered by her sister Dorothy Noonan of London, England and her brother-in-law Donald Holmyard (Ann) and their family of Keswick. Loving mother of Kirsten Croxall (Bill Elliott) of Mallorytown. Predeceased by a son Scott Stanley Pollock. Loving granny of Jackson and Brennan Croxall. Also survived by a son-in-law John Croxall and daughter-in-law Dana Boyer (Aubrey) and their son Jayden, all of RR1, Athens. Dear sister of Robert Cull (Dorothy) of Scarborough, Gordon Cull and Dawn Shorter (David), all of Essex, England. Predeceased by a sister Wilma Cameron of Essex, England. Sister-in-law of John Cameron of Essex, England, William Pollock (Isabel), Thom Pollock (Claire), Jean Baxter (John predeceased), Elizabeth Scott (Derek) and Isobel Cooper (Andrew), all of Scotland. Sandra will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland and England.

Sadly missed by four grandchildren, Sean Jackson (Erin) of Toronto, Michael Jackson and his fiancee Sunny of Richmond Hill, Byron of Toronto and Ashley Jackson of Queen’s University, Kingston, and a great-grandson Kyle Jackson of Toronto. Brother of Donald Jackson (Mary) of Brockville, Allan Jackson (Marion) of Almonte, Arnold Jackson (Eunice) of Smiths Falls, Wayne Jackson (Donna) of Mallorytown and Betty Todd (Gary) of Brockville. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Reta Davis of Mallorytown.

MAWHINNEY, Edith
Peacefully entered into rest at the Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg, NS on October 30, 2005 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Rev. David Mawhinney. Dear mother of Laurence (Marion) of Lunenburg, and Dorothea of Ottawa. Also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Mrs. Mawhinney was predeceased by her parents John and Dora, a brother Jack, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Edith was a devoted wife and mother, a gifted musician who used her God given talents to touch and lead others. Her active ministry of music lasted from her youth until the end of her life. “Where words fail, music speaks.”
Funeral Services will be held in the First Presbyterian Church, on Thursday, November 3, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Sandy Hill Cemetery, Prescott. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the commencement of the service.
