HOOPER, John Philip Sr. 'Jack'
(Lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church, Oshawa; retired employee of General Printers)

Gone to be with his Lord, on Monday, January 1, 2007, in his 103rd year.

Loving husband of the late Audrey (nee Martin) and the late Julia (nee Burton).

Loving father of Dorothy and her husband Mendal Smith, Dan and his wife Ljuba Hooper, Calvin and his wife Bev Hooper, Daryl and his companion Melanie Hooper and the late Lloyd and Pauline Trick.

Dear brother of Reta McRae, Stan and his wife Dorothy, Harold (Bud) and the late Cecil, Walter, Charles, Austin and George.

Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and their families and by his son-in-law Cliff Trick and his wife Edie, his sisters-in-law Margaret and Betty.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 300 Rossland Rd. East, Oshawa on Friday, February 16, 2007 from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Donations in memory of Jack made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or a Charity of choice would be appreciated and may be made through McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).

VEITCH, Thomas Garwood

Passed away New Year's Day, 2007.

Beloved husband of the late Bernadette Ellen Veronica.

Survived by his sister Clarice, his son Patrick and daughter Andrea (John).

His Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 322, (111 Hunt Street, Ajax) on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the R.C.L. Br. 322 Poppy Fund, would be appreciated.

VESTERS, Theodora (Dora)

“Gentle woman, peaceful dove You taught us wisdom, you taught us love”

Entered into rest at Sunnycrest Nursing Home on Monday, January 1, 2007 in her 93rd year.

Theodora, beloved wife of the late Anthony.

Loving mother of Martin [Thea], Rica [George], Bill [Anne], Marie [Guy], John [Dianne], Tony, Hank [Pam], Netty [the late Gino], Mike [Barb], and mother-in-law of Fred [the late Wilma].

Also predeceased by her son Ted.

Loving sister of Martin Pittens of Oshawa, and Anna VanderHyden of Holland.

Loving grandmother and great-grandmother of many.

The family will receive friends at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby (905-668-3410) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Friday, January 5, 2007.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish, 91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10:00 am.
Interment, Resurrection Cemetery.

In memoriam, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

WATKINS, Thomas Ramsay "Tommy"

Suddenly on Friday January 2nd, 2009 at the Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, surrounded by his family.

Tommy was born in Glasgow Scotland, and moved to Canada with his wife Sadie.

Tommy was the loving and devoted husband of Sadie. And beloved father of Iaian, Jason and Mark, and their wives Ellen, Shona and Yolanda. Cherished Papa of Emily, Jaiden, Maliya and Olwyn.

All are invited to celebrate Tommy's life at the Deer Creek Golf Club, Audley Room, 2700 Audley Road N., Ajax, (905-427-7737) on Saturday, January 10th, 2009 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, Cancer Centre would be appreciated.

BISHOP, Harry Edward

Age 84 years. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harry Edward Bishop on January 1, 2009.

Beloved husband of Pearl (nee Silver) and dear loving father to Susan and husband the late Lionel Cole. rother of Kenneth Bishop and the late Audrey Ward. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. “Happy” Harry was a voracious reader and avid movie buff.

He possessed a wicked sense of humour and charmed everyone he met.

He was employed by the Brewers Warehouse for 37 years and served as a Corporal in the RCAF from 1943-1946.

A Memorial Reception in celebration of Harry’s life will be held at THE WHEELHOUSE, Wilmot Creek on Sunday January 11, 2008 from 1-4 pm. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

CHARLES, Peter John

At his home in Oshawa on Thursday, January 1st, 2009 at the age of 63 years.

Peter Charles, formerly of Pembroke, dearly loved son of Jean Charles (nee Hawkins) and the late Thomas Charles, Pembroke.

Dear brother of Ron Charles (late Geneva), Pembroke; and Bill Charles (Sue Hopkins), Deep River. Uncle to Margo Charles, Ottawa; and Tommy Charles (wife Laura), Pembroke; and great-nieces and nephews Stephanie Wilson (husband Brad). Timmy, Kristen, Lindsay and Sam.

Predeceased by nephew Steven Charles.

Respecting Peter's wishes, there will be no visitation.

Cremation.

D'ALESSANDRO, Muriel Evelyn (nee Johnson)

Passed away on January 1st, 2009 in her 86th year.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Ann Marie ( Bill) and Karen and by her grandchildren Tracey ( Craig), Philip, Jeffrey, Daniel, Heather and Devon. She will be missed by her sister Lois Gale (Ed) sisters in law Angie Jannetta (Louis), Rose Garramone and by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy and Norma.

Family and Friends may visit and MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 6th. A service celebrating Muriel's life will commence at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at the family home. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Toronto on Wednesday January 7th, at 11;00 a.m.

Donations in memory of Muriel may be directed to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of Florence for 55 years. Loving father of Adrian (Silvana), Paul (Karin), Joan (Dan) Norton, and Janet (Harry) Worsley.
Devoted grandfather of Lizz, Ben, Brien, John, A.J., Bowen, Kris, Sanne, Steve, Jennifer, Nicole and Richard.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church (1710 Scugog St., Port Perry) on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Sunday January 4th, 2009 from 2-5 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday January 5th, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Spring Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Newtonville. SKINNER, Phillip Grant “Rainmaker”

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Phillip Skinner at his home, on Thursday, January 1st, 2009, in his 63rd year.

Dearly beloved husband of Pat (nee Roach). Loving father of Steve Taylor (Christine), Tammi Berchard (Bob), Derek Skinner (Margurite), Trish Taylor. Devoted “Popa” of Auston, Cassie, J.D., Mason, Adam, Erin and predeceased by Emma. Dear brother of Anne Robinson (late Jack). Predeceased by parents Dorothy and Edward Skinner. Sadly missed by all the Skinner and Roach Families. The family would like to thank all the emergency services and neighbours for all their support.
