CLARKE, Reynold (Rey) Lee Stanley
(March 31, 1934 - February 25, 2010)

Passed away suddenly with his family by his side.

Loving husband of Muriel (Edie) Clarke, father of Ian Clarke (Donna) of Pickering, Ontario, devoted grandfather of Jesse and Dustin Rey. Survived by siblings Shirley, Ianthie (Don), Angela, Gloria (Ron), Grant (Marie Jose) and Sylvester, sister-in-law Myrtle and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Barbados, married in Montreal, settled in the West Island and retired in Bowmanville, Ontario. Teacher, Educator and Leader to many.

Funeral arrangements by COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway 2, Courtice, Ontario (905-432-8484). Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 1st. Funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church in Bowmanville, Ontario on Tuesday, March 2nd at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John's Anglican Church and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

HUTTON, Frederick (Ted) Cameron

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, February 25, 2010, in his 85th year.

Beloved husband of Betty (nee Stevens), loving father of Kay and her husband George Moore, Don and his wife Elaine and Fran Hutton and her husband, the late Doug Hutton. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Kim, Kris, Jay, Rob and great grandson Logan.

Ted was retired after 38 years with Canada Life Assurance. He enjoyed time at the cottage in Minden, 25 years officiating high school football, downhill skiing at Sir Sam’s, flying from Oshawa Airport, where he was a member of the “420 Wing”, and golfing as a member of Oshawa Golf Club.

Cremation at Bowmanville Crematorium. Private funeral arrangements by MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division St, Bowmanville.

Donations in Ted’s memory to The Alzheimer’s Society of Durham Region or Oshawa Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.

KIMBALL, Kathleen 'Kay' (nee McKAY) 'AUNTIE KAY'
(Longtime member of Newcastle United Church, U.C.W. and both the Provincial and Federal Liberal Parties)

Peacefully after a long and wonderful life, at her home in Bowmanville on Thursday, February 25, 2010, in her 94th year.

Kay, beloved wife of the late George Kimball (1978). Loving mother of Joan and her husband Jim Stephen. Grandmother of Erin and Mark and his wife Amanda. Dear sister of Marguerite Cooper and her husband Vance and the late Wanda Kimball and Gordon McKay. Sister-in-law of Jack and the late Lena Graham (the late Alfred).

A special thank you to Marie Rogers of Comfortable Alternative for Seniors for her loving care and compassion. Kay loved her family, friends and community and always loved a party. Her personality was one to see humour and joy in her daily life.

Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle (just north of 401 at the lights) on Tuesday, March 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at NEWCASTLE UNITED CHURCH on Wednesday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. with visiting one hour prior to service. Spring interment Lakeview Cemetery, Newtonville.

McINTYRE, Howard Melbourne

Suddenly on Thursday, February 25, 2010 in his 55th year.

Beloved husband of Nancy. Loving father of Jessica, Jonathan and Melanie. Dear son of Jean McIntyre and brother of Barbara Heinbuch (Craig). Very special uncle of Scott, Karen and David. Howard will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Christopher's Church, 1171 Clarkson Rd., Mississauga on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

NEWMAN (HOOK), Joan

Passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Cottage Hospital in Uxbridge.

Joan, partner of the late Charles Hook, beloved wife of the late Edgar Newman. Dear mother of recently deceased son Jeffrey and his wife Theresa, son Brad and his wife Jeiley, daughter Jan and her husband Gary and daughter Barb. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Kevin, Ryan and his wife Margo, Courtney, Jason, Lara, Jared, Daniel and Dylan; great-granddaughter Cora. Survived by her sister Barb and her husband Ted Bone.

Special thanks to Dr. Damus and all the staff at Cottage Hospital.

PARFITT, Cecil “Andy”

Died peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, February 25th, 2010, with family at his bedside, in his 80th year.

Beloved husband of Thelma. Loving father of Vicki (Barry), Dan and Larry (Vanessa). Dear Grandpa of Jason and Brad. He is predeceased by brothers Charles and George and leaves behind brother Herbert. Dear brother-in-law to Lin and Al Aylesworth. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and will always be remembered with love for his kind, gentle nature and quiet sense of humour.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Andy’s Life at the CANADIAN CORPS, (142 Athol Street East, Oshawa) on Friday, March 5th, 2010 from 1 – 3 P.M.

Loving grandmother of Nathan and Zoey Garland; Riley and Emily Wright and Christopher and Jocelyn Cornett. Sister of Bob and Eileen Sabourin, Madeline Lowe, Wilf and Stephanie Sabourin, Jacques and Joanie Sabourin and the late Ray Sabourin. Sister-in-law of Nino Sabourin, Natalie Semeniuk and Jerry Losier.

TAYLOR, David O.

Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday February 25, 2010 at the age of 71.

Beloved husband of the late Madonna. Devoted father to Denise (Harry), Lisa (Brian) and Jamie (Michelle). He will be sadly missed by his eight grandchildren Shane (Jen), Leslie, Corey, Amanda, Sarah, Joshua, Jordan and Liam. Cherished son of Naomi and dear brother of Joan (Tony) and Mary Catherine. Dave was predeceased by his father Willis in 1993. Dave had a large circle of friends and family who supported him during his brief illness.

We wish to thank the 9th floor nurses and palliative care doctors for their loving care they provided.

Dave is resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will take place on Monday March 1st, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral mass will be from St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Prayers will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre in Oshawa.
